If you use a tapejara to follow and knock out the quetzal you have to whistle follow or else when you switch seats you’ll descend instead of staying in the air

These just got easier to tame they can be shot down with the net and knocked out 👍

A lot of quetzals spawn at red and if you are looking for a high level, kill the low levels and leave a certain distance. repeat until you find what you are looking for! Use a catcher, it makes it a million times easier!

Tranq arrows/darts + Griffin ----> The Quetz is yours

Stay away from any water sources!

Travel to Red Obb

Press Tidy Save, one should spawn in. If not desired lvl travel Out of its render zone and press tidy save again.

Repeat until you get the lvl you want

Just an FYI quetz platform saddles are now unlocked at lvl 97 (post patch 257).

U really dont need to use hook. U need a tapejara. When u find a quetzal u should change seats and make ur tapejara attack to quetzal by whistle. U will knock it out when tapejara chases it.

When you tame a quetzal it will be easier to find one but for those who doesn't know where quetzal its spawn near the red obelisks at the beach or the water i have 5 quetzal hopes this helps

If you're taming on Gen2, just follow it until it's over a mountain. Net it down at mountain peaks, where danger dinos don't spawn

A method I find easy to solo tame a quetzal is using a desmodus. Tame a desmodus with decent stam and since you can shoot off the back of a desmodus you just chase the quetzal around and shoot it occasionally. The only method that's ever worked reliably for me.

On Ragnarok map they fly low and get stuck on terrain easily. Grab a Griffin and you should be able to solo tame easy.

Use honey by placing it in your hotbar

and then pressing it

it will drop and lure the quetzal to the ground

be quick and place stone dino gates on top of it till its trapped (aim for center mass with the gates)

Keep dropping honey if it loses interest even when its flying even when its on the ground

wall it off with spikes and begin tranqing

easier than chasing it around while your grappled to an argy😂

P.s found mine (lvl 125 btw:) ) inbetween the 2 snow mountains on the island map

For solo tame grapple your argie then instead of having to mess with attack and passive use the follow my target button and just aim for the quetz this will take a long time but no damage will be done to the quetz by your argie

you can get an eerie version of this in mobile singleplayer using

- a tek kibble processor

- an implant of a quetzal (doesn't matter if its chronicled, dead, unclaimed)

-1 eery element

-some kibble

-common sense

step one: get a quetzal implant

-common knowledge, either kill a quetzal, or chronicle a tamed one

step two: get at least 1 eery element, some high quality kibble, and a tek kibble processor

-you can get a tek kibble processor *blueprint* from certain chests in dungeons, if it is one of the primary rewards listed on the "view rewards" tab

-you can get eery element by killing a dungeon boss

-recommended you use kibble from eggs of large creatures, like rex, spino, bronto, theri

-after you have built a tek kibble processor (fairly expensive), put the implant, kibble, and eery element inside it

step 3: save scumming

-this is where common sense kicks in, there is a mechanic of ark mobile singleplayer called "manage save file", you can find it below the button where you play singleplayer mode in the menu

- you can save your progress on one save, and if the tek kibble processor consumes the quetzal implant, restore your save file and try again

-it is a 1% chance of turning the implant into an eerie one, once a menu pops up that says "something erry happened" you now have an eery quetzal implant and you can now revive/recall your quetzal using a revival platform/obelisk

Net projectile+gateway = easy tame

Just hop on any flyer, then jump use parachute, shoot the net then put the gateway wait till the net is gun then shoot it with your tranq or darts

I've found easiest way is off a Griffin. Can do solo with ease. Just watch where you drop her!

So Your best bet is to tame a army and get the saddle and grapple on your bird with darts BEFORE YOU GRAPPLE ON TO YOUR BIRD PRACTICE AT YOUR BASE I DIED BECAUSE I DIDNT PRACTICE DONT MAKE MY MISTAKE Enjoy you need to use a cross bow to use grapple and drag the grapple on you crossbow 🥳🥳🥳
