To solo tame a quetzal easily you will need a high level scorpion and a argentavis.set the scorpion to agressive and pick it up with your argy and fly over the quetzal and the scorpion will eventually attack and knock it out.

You CAN tame this by carrying a scorpion with an argy but it will take long.

It said it would take around 80 darts to knock out, but I shot about 200 darts for a level 140.

This giant bird rarely spawns near obelisk you can find them near red woods volc etc they can travel to all area of the map but i rwccomend going obelisk to find this big bird best way to tame this is to use tapejara use tranq darts for better torpor if it falls on water your unlucky just find new one cause water predator will kill you when taming

If u have a griffin just stay on it’s back and tell your griffin to attack and just follow it until u take it down

All I had to do was carry my friend on my Pteradon (Whitehall)and watched as he pumped it with narcotics

You want to tame quetzal then you want ---

1)A longneck riffle, 20 traquilizer darts and 100 narcotics

2) tapejara and sit on it.

3) go and find quetzal, quetzal are spawn in red obelisk.

4) Just go and find that quetzal, sit on tapejara sit on 2nd person sit and Target quetzal.

5) Then you're tamed tapejara follow quetzal then take you're riffle with tranqilizer darts. Then you can easily knockout him/her.

6) When you knockout quetzal then give fast food to him /her because quetzal's torpority deops very quickly give raw prime meat or kibble of rex egg. Few minutes after it will tamed.

Nice just take a griffin to tame it fire darts on it and it’s down Because in single player is the griffin the easiest and in multi player pick ur Tribe mate and fire darts on it 👍

It's hard to encounter a lvl 20+ in easy difficulty so good luck in finding a good one.

Mount griffin and chase with crossbow equiped with tranq arrows until it’s out then feed prime or kibble.

If you have two people the best way I’ve found is having somebody on an Argentavis who picks up another tribemate who shoots it with tranq darts

They can be anywhere on the Island so it can take a looooong time to find one, look high in the air, they tend to fly at about the height of a large redwood tree or half the volcano’s height. They seem to be spawn limited at around 2-4 per server so if you keep killing around say, the red obelisk and it isn’t spawning, it’s likely there are already too many wild Quetzals on the map.

Unless you have a Griffin, the easiest way to tame one is to use a Tapejara. Board the passenger seat and use whistles to chase after the Quetz while firing on it with tranqs. Be warned they do tend to fall over hazardous areas so consider bringing a cryopod and kibble to tame the Quetzal fast and store it before something attacks it.

Just use a griffin you can shoot of the griffin and still have control over it when you feel its unconscious and you flying over a trex dont knock it out but if your nice go ahead and give a big meal to that trex oh and final thing bring narcotics 20 to 30 if you wana be extra get like 50

I introduce to you the easiest method of taming a quetzal. Use a wyvern (any kind will do) whistle follow on that wyvern and ride it. Once you find the quetzal, dismount your wyvern and use a harpoon gun and net projectile and shoot the quetzal. Since you whistled the wyvern to follow you, it will not land and will serve as a mid air platform for you. Once you shoot the quetzal with the net, it will fall to the ground and will give you the opening to release a barrage of bullets at it. This is the easiest method I can think of. I would use crystal wyverns as they are basically free wyverns.

I usually see a lot of Quezal’s around the volcano on Ragnarok. For solo taming herd it towards the side of a mountain or just a place where it can get stuck by a lot of rocks (I did the canyon). You can herd it by attacking the Quez once and just let it run away in the direction you want it to, although I’ve heard rare flowers make it follow you but I’ve never tried that. For this I suggest to tame a high level Queztal so it won’t die from your attacks. Mutton is the best after the kibble and you can find ovis’ on the green patch by the scar on Ragnarok (not far from the Queztal spawn) so stock up first. Ovis’ are not directly next to the scar but further into the green land. Good luck!! And if this tip help name your queztal Elvis Pretzel.

I finally found one of these guys and killed it for their implant.

I started to fly down so I could grab the implant, revive it at my revival platform (Ark Mobile) and tame it there, but I stopped on my way down because I saw a raptor and argentavis eating the body.

Help me I’m so m a d.

I found it easy to use tranq darts and a longneck along with a griffin because you can have a gun out while flying them.
