Bring as many tranq darts as possible. The hit box on the quetz is really weird more so if you are on a tapa

Easy way : Bring a harpoon gun with net ammo and BASICALLY Shot the quetzal and make sure it falls in a safe area and then trap it as fast as you can and Tranq it with your ammo of choice and Normal Gates can work and even if it wakes up it shouldn’t be able to escape easily and to net it again you have to De-agro it

Takes over 150 darts to tranq a lvl 90

These things hate meeee,I found one when testing out my new pela ,and I had a bunch of stuff set up and it was right next to my base,so I went to my base ,got everything,then it despawned,IT DESPAWNED.

Easyst way for me: tame a griffin. U can easy shoot from the griffin. Easy quetzal. Look always how much stamina left and look always to the quetzal, sometimes i lost him and never founding.

On mobile,u still can shoot with Tapejara in the air,but u can move back so that’s bad for single player,but at least u still can get it if u have friends to shoot it and tame it

Did you follow the first guide about a tapejara 3 seater and Cant switch seats in PVX? What you need to do for a solo tame is switch the controls from flow to on screen. Then practice jump with a parachute from your tame and switching to grappling hook. If you can do it with a flow control then thats good for you. Once you have grappled your tame then whistle to attack target. It will follow the quetz and you shoot it. I guess the switch seat only works on single player or it just doesnt work now. Dont follow the tapejara method. Wasted engram points on that.

To Tame A Quetzal: 1:Find And Kill Quetzal For Implant (if in mobile) 2:Revive quetzal But make trap first or quetzal will escape 3: use a crossbow and toxicant arrows to knock out 4: Use The right kibble for it If using meat then use soothing balm if no soothing balm then use A LOT OF BIO TOXIN 5: The quetzal is yours now.

Use harpoon to net it then shoot with tranqs till it knocks out easy no need to chase all around.

When your in moblie kill a low level one and revive it and tame it then use it once u get a saddle well use the Quetzal to tame the other one by choosing the quetzal u want and dismount then shoot after that u make sure u go out of render distance to so it won’t flee from u sometimes it’s already lose aggro although it’s time consuming it’s worth it I tamed a 140 with this method

( it dosent flee when it’s on a torpor run )

Fly on a peteradon above a Qetsil and jump of with a perashoot but us two gusn wit darts to traqalise it but make sure your bird is on folow en make sure it is on high so as soon as the Qetsil flys away jou can get back on your peteradon and you can follow the Qetsil

Try to do the "hunt argentavis quest"

Finding one of this is rare but u can find it near the red obelisk taming it u need a pteranodon because its faster then the argentavis becase i tried taming one of this with an argentavis on mobile and if your too far away from quetzel(due to non-stop hitting it with an tranq darts)it will fly away in the distant that your argy wont follow it anymore

If you already have a snow owl depending on what map you’re on freeze the Quetzel low to the ground let it fall refreeze it and then you can start drinking it out from there because I won’t be able to move

Use a net to make sure it can’t fly away super easy!

You can actually net gun quetzals.

How I did it is I was on my griffin and I just followed it shot it is is pretty easy in my opinion

If you are on gen 2 just hit it with a net gun and it will fall down

Solo tame it by riding in a tapejara’s passenger seat or by grappling on tinder an argentavis and using the “whistle go here” to steer

Just saying, if you have access to maps such as Ragnarok or Crystal Isles, the griffin is by far the easiest way to tame these guys, since you can shoot from a griffin's back
