Tips & Strategies

What are tips for quetzal? Tips and strategies for quetzal in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
The Easiest Way Of Taming Quetzals is The following Below!
Tapejara: Have a Friend In The Front Or Back Shooting It.
Pteranodon: Have a Friend Pick You Up And Shoot It.
Argentavis: Have a Friend Pick You Up And Shoot It.
Quetzal: Either Use a Platform And Build a Quetzal Catcher Or Have a Friend Sit On The Quetzal With a Normal Saddle And Shoot It.
Since the tapejara was added, this is the best dino to tame a quetzal with. Have a friend board the front seat and shoot the quetz. Tranq darts are best, but tranq arrows will do too. Once it's KO put spike walls around it and tame it!
To save wyvern milk for a longer period of time, put it in your obilisk section to be transferred. You can keep up to 50 milk for 24 hours in your obelisk at a time!!
Make up to 20 tranq darts or like 50 tranq arrows (in case you miss and get a large bear trap. Once you find one wait for it to land and then place the bear trap as close as you can to it (you might need more than one bear trap) and once it gets caught knock it out with tranq darts or arrows and start to tame it with whatever food (kibble or meat).
A quetzal can be used for collecting resources such as metal, wood, that and fibre as long as you have the right animal carried by the quetzal. It's also a great tank for bullets and transporting goods around the map.
For taming the quetz you should get a partner otherwise it will be very difficult to tame. Use any flying mount that you have (make sure it has enough weight to carry 2 people. Make sure to have a cross bow or tranq sniper otherwise it will take awhile to knock out. There are 2 strategies to knock the quetz out that are easy either have a person grab you on a flying mount and shoot it or having a person on a flying mount bring you very close so that you can grappling hook in to the quetz (remember to have a parachute so you don't die to fall damage when it knocks out). Then from there just shoot it till the quetz is knocked out. I would also recommend that you come prepared with at least 10 wood spike walls so you can surround your tame so it will not be harmed from the environment and lose bonus levels. Make sure to bring one crossbow with at least 1 grappling hook (bring more if you think you will miss), tranq sniper (optional), narcotics (800+), wood spike walls, and a flying mount.
When you want to tame a quetzal the easiest way is with a quetz trap if you don't have one ask someone if still no then tame a high level pteradon with about 1500+ stamina 175% movement speed and pick up someone in your tribe try to get headshots as that is the easiest way to knock it out faster and after you knock it out the person that was shooting drop him to guard the quetzal and try to build spike walls around it and the person on the flyer quickly as fast as you can fly back to base grab the kibble and narcotics and after you tame it ask someone if you can buy a saddle if you don't already have one HAVE FUN HUNTING
If you make a ramp down off the front of the quetz and put an anky on it if you do it right you can walk around with the quetz and infinitely harvest metal because the quetz will not gain weight
Tame a tapejara and get another person. Follow the quetz around and tranq it. Tapejara should have 120% speed and 300 stamina.
For perfect taming you want pace your shots for 2 reasons, 1 it allows for torpor to build up before applying the next stack of torpor and it will also decrease the likelihood of shooting a tame after knockout increasing your chances at a perfect tame.
Get a mate to go on a quezal and you get on its platform and tranq it till its out
Should I bring my 160 carcha ? To help Tame one of these
I was bringing a newly tamed diploma to my base when I saw a big bird shadow I looked up there was a Quetzal hovering over South zone 1 spawn even tho I've been playing for 10 min
(MOBILE)If you're just starting out on the Ark, start breeding dodos for bigger size and here's why.
Big dodos drop dodo feathers which can be used to make dodo arrows. You can shoot the Quetzal with the dodo arrow to make it aggro on you and then you can lure it into a trap.
Quetzals can't go through dino gates so you can design your own trap for the process
The trap I used was made with a behemoth gate, dino gates, foundations and roofs.
Note that it can destroy wood structures.
Grab a friend, a dart gun, and a Tape. Thank me later
Get yourself a griffin and quetz tamed will be soo much Easyer the. Using another quetz sooo griffin all the way
Forquetz trap no need to leave the trap open just fly and let the quetz your trapping in the box and hop of your quetz and he should be trapped in it..I caught 10 this way
