Equip your crossbow with a grappling hook. Fly your Argy around and look for a quetzal. After finding, jump off your Argy, and grappling hook it. Whistle attack target on the Quetzalcoatlus and start shooting tranq dart/arrows at the Quetzalcoatlus. Note: Make sure to whistle passive right before the Argy reaches the Quetzalcoatlus so the Quetzalcoatlus doesn’t die.

If you get a platform saddle on your first one make a pen on the back and get a quetzal to fly into it after that block off the entrance with pillars and then knock it out whilst flying to your base

In creative mode with a flying thylacoleo shot off of it and knock out the quets and feed meat got a lv 41 with this method

If u don’t have enough materials to afford the Argentavis saddle, use a pteranodon, grapple to it, and use the Argentavis method, but with a pteranodon. It’s a little shaky at first. But I had knocked one with this, but my quetzal I was taming was eaten by a Allosaurus. Make sure to bring Wooden spikes.

People say they are a difficult solo take but I just got myself one solo. Was on a griffin and kept shooting It down. What’s great about the griffin is that you can also live left and right. Just followed it around until it fell. Thankfully mine fell on a high mountain and it was ok. Super easy, just watch out because if it is going to drop in a dangerous spot....well there goes all ur trans darts

Quetzals are a must tame for raiding just have a bunch of turrets on it and load dodos loaded with c4 drop them and watch the fireworks go.

If your on the mobile edition (idk bout ithers im mobile ) just kill it then take its implant and revive it in a revival platform at ur base in enclosed area tame like normal this way you domt have to worry about a giga so to speak eating ur quetz

Taming the quetzal in solo is plain impossible, I wasted over 100 tranq darts flying from ledge to ledge shooting it just so it could de spawn. They definitely have to make the quetzal land once in a while so you can at least trap it

Tame a tapejera and then sit on one of the passenger seats and whistle it up( need to be flying off the ground). Find the queztal once you get next to it whistle passive and continue this process until you knock it out! Good luck taming!!!

No idea why people want to whistle their flyers to attack the quetzal when you can literally just go as close as you can to the quetzal you wanna tame on a tapejara and then hop in a passenger seat and whistle it to follow you. This way it will literally just hover in the air and you can tranq the quetzal from there. If it goes out of range just jump in the rider seat and move closer. Keep doing this until you knock it out.

You can still use the methods where you’ll set a flyer to attack the quetzal, grapple it (or tapejara passenger) and then tranq it but if the quetzal isn’t a high enough level that method might get risky due to hp and torpor stuff. It still works just fine but my method completely avoids unnecessary damage to the quetzal so it may be safer.

(MOBILE)If you're just starting out on the Ark, start breeding dodos for bigger size and here's why.

Big dodos drop dodo feathers which can be used to make dodo arrows. You can shoot the Quetzal with the dodo arrow to make it aggro on you and then you can lure it into a trap.

Quetzals can't go through dino gates so you can design your own trap for the process

The trap I used was made with a behemoth gate, dino gates, foundations and roofs.

Note that it can destroy wood structures.

If you cannot find them a red ( you probably will) go the hidden lake on the island and if not there try the mountain bottom right of it

Easy to tame with a Wyvern. Set it to follow you, and find a Quetz. Then, dismount the Wyvern and shoot. When I gets too far, get back on and follow it. It's very effective and worked well for me. Good luck!

The easiest way to tame these (on mobile) is to tAme some rexes (1 male and female) have them mate if it’s a boy congratulations you now have raw prime meat if it’s a girl when she’s old enough mate her with the male and rinse and repeat and the non mating females should lay eggs

Just...Get a low lvl one Chain bola it and tame it. Then after you have it go tame a better lvl one. Ez.

Use dodo arrows to aggro and lure them into a favorable position.
