These creatures Do more damage than a Griffin.

I see a lot of good advice for how to tame these in the air, excluding just shooting from the back of a Griffin which is incredibly easy, but the easiest way by far is with a Pteranadon and Rare flowers.

Find the Quetzal you want

Build a quick trap underneath it

Fly up to the Quetzal and eat a rare flower

Lead it into the trap

Profit

If you're a bored and already at late game, consider slapping some 2-4 auto turrets with generator in the platform saddle making it the deadliest dino to exist, and roam around the map killing gigas, it's so much fun trust me

I used my griffin, Ilana, to tame one. Go IIana.

I do the grapple to your argy Methed then it falls by giga so I kill the giga like I always do with spinos and rexes beacause it’s easy with flying mount but this dude had lots of health so the quetzal woke up before I finished the fight

NOW I CANT FIND ANY QUETZALS AND I NEED ONE!!!

Me: sees quetz flying super close to the ground

Me: NOOOOO I HAVE NOTHING TO TAME IT WITH!!

(for mobile) get an argie and level it to 135 to 145 movement

And here's what you need

- multiple grapples

- crossbow

- long neck (or crossbow)

- tranq darts/tranq arrows/toxicant arrows

- (optional) 10x soothing balm

- 3-20ish rex kibble (or prime meat at least 30)

- multiple parachutes

-(optional) spike walls (to protect it)

Now find your quetzal go next to it jump off your argie deploy your parachute then grapple to your argie whistle attack target at the quetzal shoot the quetzal with your tranq ammo of choice your argie will follow the quetzal and try to attack if your argie gets to close whistle passive then again attack target once far away enough. Once it goes down get on your argie and fly down to it as fast as you can so it doesn't get attacked by other dinos (make sure it does not fall in water)

then remote use your balm give it the kibble or prime meat protect it and then enjoy your quetzal! (Saddle level 76)

Or buy a tannery with 50 amber then get more cures with more amber if you don't feel like waiting to get the levels

Get agriffin you can shoot off their backs

On ragnarok, just follow with decent level argy and a good rifle. Land, shoot tranqs, repeat. Just tamed one near viking bay with ease. A 440% rifle takes only a couple good shots with a lvl 16 quetz. Use low lvl quetz to then get higher lvl ones.

Use a weak weapon every time I try I kill it

Just take a argy pick up a tamed scorpion set to aggressive and let nock it out note make sure you have enough stam

It has now been 4 days and I still haven’t found a quetzal. I checked the mountains twice each, the obelisks twice each and all the beaches. PLEASE HELP.

Make a local airlines service. Tame one, get a platform saddle, and Say in the chat “calling all newbs. Tell me your coords and where you want to go. “ set up chairs, say that the price is ten metal ingots only after you deliver them. Lol

Easier way to tame a quetzal on mobile, get a bow, get some dodo arrows, and just shoot one dodo arrow and start blasting it with tranqs

Low levels are horrible in stamina and attack. I tamed my Quetz at level 10, terrible stamina and attack. You'll wanna pump your levels into stamina and attack, and maybe even health. ~Meteor, Jan. 9, 2021

When looking for these all I find are tepejaras

Have a saddle for one. But I never seen one. Where do I find em? I looked all over even at the flight limit and I was only eaten by a giga twice. Losing 1200 bio toxin I been saving for giga and quetzal
