Tips & Strategies

What are tips for quetzal? Tips and strategies for quetzal in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
I saw one but didn’t have the stuff for tame so I had to leave behind rip ):
Stop wasting your time trying to chase these guys with your longneck you will never catch them. The easiest way to tame the king of the air 👑 is to fly close to them using a PT or RG then dismount and use a Sinomacrops to land on there back. Once on their back, aim for their eye and unload your darts (or arrows) into their regal face. Make sure they are not above water when you knock them out. (Trust me I've done it multiple times. 😭) Congrats you can now take your first (or second?) Quets. Hope this can help.

Also for those mobiler wondering, you need to be lv 77 and had already completed pursuit "tame a bronto" to unlock this pursuit

On ragnarok, find the castle ruin in front of the blue obelisk near viking bay, fly around there and you will find them. I have found three here.
Is a lvl 60 in medium worth taming?
Note: This pterosaur is related to the Quetzalcoatlus in many ways.
This is not a real pterosaur in ARK: Survival Evolved.
Dossier:
COMMON NAME:
Hatzegopteryx
Species: Hatzegopteryx Ottosoleryx
Time: Late Cretaceous
Diet: Carnivore
Temperament: Aggresive
What you would expect as a giant pterosaur is a gigantic, skittish, flying reptile, but a pterosaur that rivals the Quetzalcoatlus and hunts for prey on the land is pretty scary. Large carnivores like the Tyrannosaurus can easily scare it away, causing it to soar in the air most of the time, but the Hatzegopteryx always has a backup by eating mostly scavenging. Hatzegopteryx hunts small prey like compsognathus, and dodos, while also being a scavenger at the same time. This has enabled it to pick up small creatures in it’s beak.
Domesticated
If taming a flying monster was such a good idea, it would be fairly slow but has better health, damage, and stamina than the Quetzalcoatlus. It was too obvious to be a warbird, since has rarely been seen, but makes up for it’s stats and abilities. Also having a “platform saddle” like the Quetzalcoatlus, makes it very important for transporting cargo.
Disclaimer: Pretty impossible to tame in single player.
How to tame:
List of Food (Top to bottom.) Base Stats (lvl 20)
Superior Kibble Health: 2955
Raw Mutton Damage: 78
Raw Prime Meat Stamina: 1230
Cooked Lamb Chop Movement Speed: 100%
Raw Prime Fish Meat Weight: 670 kg
Cooked Prime Meat Torpidity: 3428
Raw Meat *Loses torpidity fast.
Cooked Prime Fish Meat
Raw Fish Meat
Cooked Meat
Cooked Fish Meat (Takes 1 and a half hours to tame a lvl 1. Recommend you don’t use that.)
Taming: The Hatzegopteryx is not a coward and is found mostly in the Green Obelisk. You can aggro one by coming very close (in the ground,) or attacking it. If you are taming it in solo player, use strategies similar to the one you use to tame the Quetzalcoatlus. If you are taming it in multiplayer, you need a Tapejara, and a teammate to knock out the Hatzegopteryx. Go in the pilot’s seat, and have your tribemate to go on the passenger’s seat. Then, start following the Hatzegopteryx and have your teammate to knock it out. But don’t go too close! It will attack your Tapejara or worse, grab you off! Once it is starting to fly away, keep shooting it with your knockout ammo of choice. When it’s knocked out, feed it your food of choice and narcotics, and protect it with a spiked wall. After it’s tamed, name your Hatzegopteryx and congratulate yourself. The saddle is unlocked at level 88 and the platform saddle is unlocked at level 119.
Info: You can’t tame one in mobile single player. Killing Strategy: If you have a Tapejara and another tribemate to kill it. Let your tribemate shooting it with a Longneck Rifle, while you drive around the Hatzegopteryx. Killing a lvl 1 will give you 250 XP. The Hatzegopteryx has many roles, including a destroyer. The Hatzegopteryx can pick up as many creatures as the Quetzalcoatlus can, but has a better weight stat.
Up if you think this is a good pterosaur idea. Happy voting!
The Hatzegopteryx is a real pterosaur in real life. I like it more than the Quetzalcoatlus, because the Quetzal is too overated.

If you’re on Ragnarok/Crystal Isles/Lost Island tame a griffin and get some tranq darts or tranq arrows and shoot the quetzal while you’re on the back of the griffin
The Quetzal is a behemoth of a creature with base stats that top the charts (health, stamina, weight, and torpor). The Quetzal's platform saddle make it an excellent choice for a mobile air base or even a caravan for transporting and gathering metal and other supplies on harder to reach areas. While its melee strength isn't as high as some might expect, its health and ability to carry weapons make it suitable to use as a war bird. Its preference for Rex Kibble make it difficult to tame, and even more so difficult to knock out in the air. — Smallfoot
For the people on Mobil saying ull get a free adecent or journeyman quez saddle from the pursuit “Hunt Agentavis” ur wrong.
The saddle type is based on difficulty and what lv argys u kill so ur not garruntieed a good one depending on which lvs u kill- Smallfoot
Me and my friend tamed a Quetz just now by me picking him up with a argy and him just shooting it with tranqs
I’ve seen two. In my entire life I’ve seen two.
They are FAST on mobile when wild when fast they be like…🐢
Tame a Tape! Tame a Tape! Yeah that’s what I did not do. Instead, I tamed a Griffin which I find easier because it chases you (instead of a fast flee) and you can easily trap it in a stone pillars. Mine was at a lower level so I could knock it out with around 40 tranq arrows. Then I found myself a Queztal and just shot it in the head a few times. I would make sure that the area surround the uncon Queztal was safe by killing carno Dinos with the Griffin.
How do u get tranq arrows on mobile?
If you have a harpoon launcher with a net projectile, it will cause the Quetz to land if low enough to the ground and then shoot it with a couple of tranq darts or shocking tranq darts to knock it out and then feed it lots of meat until it is tamed and then use a Wyvern to use it’s wing attack to send aggressive dino’s away from it. Also bring a cyropod so you can freeze it if you are away from your base
To tame a quetzal you will need a tapejara and some kind of tranquilizers. Locate a quetzal and then sit on the front seat of the tapejara. Whistle attack target and start shooting when close. If too close whistle passive. Do this over and over and you are able to tame a quetzal.
To find a good one it’ll take hours
They are very hard to find I’ve only seen one in my meany survival ark worlds lol寥㙕墅旲凈刍斸冂屙羽阌屙═轛刷乬羽耷冂亅鷣亠聽
