Chapter twenty nine: Explanations.

Nora and William explained everything. Apparently Jack and Emma’s father had secretly been one of the heirs to the shadow phoenixes throne which meant they were royalty. Something has happened between their father and Uncle and their father went into hiding with them. Later the shadow phoenixes kingdom was destroyed.

“So what are y’all doing here?” Jack asked Emma and Andrew. Emma took a deep breath and Andrew took her hand gently and then he began to explain. “After the destruction of Tortuga everyone exited the sewers. The city was a mess. The buildings were obliterated and dead bodies and parts of dead bodies were everywhere. You could look anywhere without seeing blood or damage.” Andrew began.

Jack shuddered at the thought of it. “We looked around for you, Jay, And Josephina and Jaquin but we couldn’t find y’all. All the escapees took the canoes and exited the ruined city. It was terrible. There was no food and no water on the canoes and we were all parched when we reached shore. Luckily there was a village by the shore or we would have all died. After that we all split up and went are separate ways. Me and Emma searched and searched for you and her other siblings but….we couldn’t find y’all. We decided to search for other remaining family members but the only ones Emma knew about was….y’all’s uncle. Eventually we caught word of where he was but then we heard of something. Something terribly wrong. Y’alls uncle, is a madman. He’s destroying cities, trying to rule the world. He stood medallions and is using them to, to build a army. A army to take over the world. We had to stop him. So we came here for help. The Dark phoenixes want to help stop Tom as well. Before it is too late.” Andrew said.

Jack blinked. “We have a evil uncle?” He asked. Emma nodded. “Yes you do. And we have to stop him. We need to gather a army against Tom. If you join, then we’ll need your help convincing Jay. I’m guessing he’s still alive?” Emma asked. Jack bit his lip and ran his hands through his hair nervously.

“Well….yes. But I don’t know about joining some kind of army and plus Jay hates me now.” Jack explained. Andrew frowned. “You’re brothers. Work it out.” Jack shrugged. “I don’t kno-” Cyra slipped her hand around Jack’s. “We have to do this Jack. Not just for y’all. For the world. The world is depending on you. I’M depending on you.” She said.

Jack took a breath, still staring into Cyra’s. He would do it. For her. For Cyra. He looked up and nodded. “I’m in. What do I need to do?”
