Chapter twenty six: Fenrir werewolf by night.
Cyrus’ eyes began to dilate and he began to moan and groan, still clutching the sides of his head. Suddenly a terrible snarling noise came from Cyrus. His face began to lengthen and then his body, his shoulders began to hunch, his fingernails grew longer and sharper, and his teeth began to length into fangs. A shiver of fear ran through Jack. Hair began to sprout from Cyrus’ face and hands, which also were curling into paws. Cyrus had dropped to all fours, his eyes turning black and his ears lengthening into long wolf like ears. Cyrus had turned into a monster. A fenrir/werewolf creature. Cyrus the fenrir werewolf stood on its hind legs and howled at the moon. Suddenly it all made sense to Jack. The “wolf” problem. Cyrus disappearing at night. Cyrus was a fenrir werewolf. The fenrir werewolf turned to Jack, it’s black eyes glittering with anticipation. It licked its chomps. “Jack! Run!” Cyra gasped. Jack was unable to move. Frozen. The fenrir werewolf suddenly leapt into midair and lunged at Jack. A fierce “wind” blew at the side of Jack’s face and Cyra grabbed him and sped off. The fenrir werewolf howled in fury and pursued. They stopped for a second. “What-what just h-happened?” Jack asked, his eyes wide with fright. Cyra grasped his arm. “I’ll explain later. Right now we have to go!” She said. “Then let’s go back to the castle!” Jack suggested. Cyra shook her head. “We can’t leave him here alone. He might run away and then hurt people. Don’t worry it won’t be long until he turns back human. We can’t leave him.” Cyra said. Jack sighed. “Fine.” He relented. “Ok great. Just whatever you do….don’t let him bite you!” Cyra said. The fenrir werewolf was getting closer, it’s growls echoing from nearby. They could hear if sniffing noisily. It howled loudly. Cyra bolted off, still holding unto Jack. The fenrir werewolf pursued. “Come on!” Cyra said, tugging him along so that he wouldn’t go so slow. They were going deeper into the forest. The fenrir werewolf continued following. Suddenly Jack had a idea, not a good idea but….it was a idea. “Hey Cyra wait!” He called. Cyra stopped running and Jack tried to catch his breath. “What?! We have to go!! You know, keep running!” Cyra exclaimed. “I know but…it would be easier if we split up. I’m slowing you down.” Jack said. Cyra shook her head vigorously. “No, no, no never split up! He’ll catch up to you! You’re-um….how do I say this without hurting your feeling?….slow.” Cyra said. Jack nodded. “I know. But you have super speed which means he’ll never catch you and I have super healing so he can’t hurt me…much.” Jack said. Cyra shook her head even more, her eyes filled with worry. “No! We can’t split up! We have to stick together!” She cried. Jack squeezed her hand and looked her in the eye. “Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. We can do it.” He said. Cyra bit her lip and sighed. “Ok. Be careful please or I’m gonna be so mad at you!” Jack grinned. “I wouldn’t dream of doing anything else.”

I tamed one of these early game. He was my friend. I ran into a Carnotaurus while metal hunting, and it killed me. I come back to see my monkey taking it on by himself. I then got a notification, but not notifying me of my monkey's death. That's right, my level 7 monkey killed a level 13 Carno by himself. I put him on my shoulder afterwards and made my way back to base, when a raptor ambushed us and killed my monkey because of how low his health was from the Carno.
1 like=one respect for Friend, my monkey. Gone, but not forgotten.
Here is a story to prove that these prehistoric mini ninjas are more then poop throwing monkeys.
I was playing on ragnarok one day and all of a sudden, two or three of these guys spawned in to my new cave base. I tamed one of them. It ended up at level 118. Not thinking much of him, I threw him on my shoulder and went out on my argentavis to have an adventure. Often I would attack animals for fun. Then, something truly amazing happened. My monkey started throwing poop at my enemies and making the same sound any young child would make if they were pretending to be a ninja. From that point forward, he was known as ninja monkey. He was Always with me.
Now however, is when the real story begins. Prepare yourself, for this is a truly honorable and glorious tale of courage and loyalty.
One day, I was taming a quetzal using my griffin and some tranq arrows. Of course, ninja monkey was with me as usual. We were both extremely excited to watch the quetzal fall to the ground asleep, just waiting to be tamed. In our glory we flew down to the sleeping beast only to find that terror birds were attempting to eat the magnificent animal. Ninja monkey and I were infuriated. We flew down a-top my griffin and had nearly wiped them all out when who should pop out of the ground to ambush us but a purlovia! That evil creature ripped me apart sending me back to the bed at my base. Rushing back, I could only hope that my precious animals were still alive. As I was flying above the nearly dead quetzal I saw ninja monkeys death message appear in red letters at the top of my screen. In my anger, I gave the purlovia the most excruciating and painful death I could. Then, I finished off the terror birds. In agony I tamed the quetzal and brought it back to my base. But then I thought about what I had seen. My griffin had survived. But how? Then I remembered all that I had witnessed. My griffin and quetzal were still alive, because of ninja monkey. When all seemed lost, he sacrificed himself for me and my dear griffin. From that day forward, the quetzal I had tamed was known, as “ninja monkey prevails.” Immediately I set up a memorial in honor of my noble ninja friend. And if you ever were to find this Memorial, on his gravestone you would see this inscription: “here lies ninja monkey, brave rescuer of grif the griffin. May he rest in piece.”
And thus ends my tale.
So friends, whenever you see a mesopithecus, and think it unworthy of being tamed, remember the tale of the great protector of griffins and quetzals. Remember the tale of the small but brave warrior.
:Remember Ninja Monkey:
Thank you for listening. I hope you all will seriously consider taming one of these truly amazing creatures. #REMEMBERNINJAMONKEY
The Obelisk
-Chapter 80-
Just like that he was running.
Rust wasn’t exactly sure what he was running from, but it made sense so he kept it up. Running from bigger carnivores, running from an angry Kapro, running from Terror birds.
He couldn’t help but laugh at it all. Stupid others, thinking they could catch him. Thinking they’d even get c l o s e.
Dark clouds approached the moon in the sky above, shadowing the ground behind him. He kept running.
“Stupid Deinonychus.”
He shook his head with a growl and leapt over a large creek, just barely missing the end of it as his talons landed at the edge with a small splash. The clouds were getting closer, the voices piling up in his head.
“No one can trust them.”
“A thieving deinonychus requesting assistance? Not happening.”
Screeches came from behind, loud and furious. He swung his head around to see a trio of Terror birds chasing after him.
“Don’t listen to them, Rust.”
“Listen to me!”
There was a loud crash as he tripped and fell over a sharp black stone, flipping forwards and slamming into a larger rock. Hissing with pain, he writhed on the ground a moment before his eyes opened and he quickly jumped up, whipping around to face the Terror birds in front of him.
“Alright, thief,” one of them hissed, her voice strange and echoey. “Give us the key.”
Rust paused, staring at her. He had no key. Last he looked, his talons were empty—
He realized he could feel the slight jab of something metal in his palm, and he looked down, opening his claws to see.
A silver, thin and sharply curved key sat in his talon. He glanced back up at the Terror birds.
“Now!” she yelled.
Rust smiled, lifting the key up to his snout. He opened his mouth wide and dropped it in.
“Wait—DON’T—” She shrieked with anger and he swallowed, feeling the key scrape horribly against his throat as it went down. “Are you INSANE?”
“Yup,” He said, and leaped right into the air, whirling his body around and landing with a giant thud behind the furious and baffled soldiers. He barked a laugh and ran.
He didn’t look behind him once for the long time he spent running and running, but after a moment he slowed himself down, finally noticing that everything was quiet.
He checked behind him, but there was just darkness. And when he turned back around, he saw that the whole forest had vanished.
Black, everywhere, but he could see just fine. He glanced down and saw that even the ground beneath him was just as black and smooth as the darkest humans glass. He let out a shocked yell, and his voice echoed all around him.
He realized there was a tiny shape padding towards him. He squinted, and as it got closer, he realized it was a surprisingly familiar Terror bird hatchling. She stopped, and stared up at him with her big brown eyes, saying nothing.
And then she glitched, her beak quickly shifting to a small snout, and then it glitched back. Her feathers went from fluffy to rough as she glitched again, her changes slight but different, her tail lengthening, her colors going from tan-ish yellow to brown and grey and blue.
From Terror bird to him.
Rust looked down at the glitching hatchling with awe, and they stared right back, their eyes shifting to his bright yellow. They stepped forward, reached one small talon out, whispered, “Stop running,” and everything went totally dark.
I'm thinking about ark where these guys replace players.. there's gonna be mesopithecus riding dilophs and lystros.. theres gonna be little tools and weopons like sticks for spears... items will cost less to craft. And there'll be little bosses... if there's anyone that does youtube videos about ark then please turn this into reality and animate a world were monkeys/mesos replace players
I tamed a one of these guys and named him "uh oh stinky". I guess it worked, because when i was wandering around, gathering resources, a titanoboa attacked me. I used my pike to get it to low health, but ive been tranquilized by its poison and fell unconscious! Then,"uh oh stinky" saved my life by throwing poop at it until the bastard snake finally died. Thanks, uh oh stinky.
The Red Pike
(Ch 2 of Siyu's story)
Siyu stalked through the forest on the back of Dajiao the Carnotaurus. It could have been nothing more than a dilo that scared his horse off, but there were dangerous creatures stalking around here. The blood trail dipped down a hill. It was dark but Siyu could make out the shape of a raptor eating the corpse of a horse. He slid off of Dajiao's back and pulled a bow from his back. He set an arrow, pulled back and aimed for the creature's side. He couldn't save his horse, but he could at least avenge it. He loosed the arrow. The raptor let out a surprised cry and fell. Siyu approached. He had it the raptor in the leg. He then looked down at his dead, half-eaten horse. He sighed, rubbed her nose, then set fire to the body. He felt it would have been more respectful to let the flames consume her rather than a wild beast. The fire lit tge area greatly, shining on something in the distance. Forgetting the raptor, he went down to investigate, Dajiao.
Weapons littered the ground.: swords, pikes, and crossbows, even a few guns. Where the weapons ended the bodies began. A few littered the ground here and there, but they were mostly in a pile, a flag flying high over the corpses. Siyu gritted his teeth. He couldn't see the flag's symbol in the dark, but he didn't need too. He had heard stories of this kind of brutality. He tried to compose himself and pulled out his notes, writing: "Nerva had been revived. The destruction continues, but it will be his downfall. As long as he leaves a trail, I will follow him to the ends of the this world, and I will find him."

Sir Seth Edmonson explorer notes 4: the mesopithicus similar to the modern chimp might just be more related to humans than chimpanzees! Theyre intelligence is unrivaled by most of the island creatures ive seen. I even taught a mesopithicus to lockpick locked doors of enemy tribes! I will be on a tribe’s doorstep soon to showcase the mesopithicus i taught to lockpick doors, i imagine they will be intrigued. Tommorow after i rest with my raptor fury by my side (note i did not meant to implie i was using my raptor fury to write this note on a previous post (note 2 in raptor section) so just to clear that up :D) i will arrive to the “new legion”’s doorstep tomorrow to see if maybe even they could trade me taming supplies and training stables in return for my circus mesopithicus! -Sir Seth Edmonson
Skullhelm's story part 2. The monkey shrieked, the alpha raptor smashed through another part of the wall and quickly the human picked her up and ran outside grasping a long-shimmer-fang-claw and hit the monster with it, the raptor turned to face them, but the human was ready, he sliced at its face and she started throwing dung to help him, every time the raptor lunged the human stepped to the side and drove his sword into its ribcage, but the creature soon got angry and managed to hit him with its claw, the monkey leapt off of his shoulder as the raptor readied itself for another attack, she ran up its back to its neck and bit down firmly with her sharp teeth, her aim was true and with a crunch the beast's head flew clean off. Her human drank a bottle of something and his wound instantly started closing up, 'thank you' he said to her, she Ran to the raptor's head and got out the skull, putting it on her head, the human said, 'let's call you Skullhelm' 'arg' she replied.(more in part 3)
So I accidentally punched a trike. Now it’s attacking. Then mah monke yeets of my shoulder and runs between its legs, while it runs in circles trying to hit it. As I look back to see if it is chasing, I see it unconscious with my monkey (still full health) walking back to me. At this point in the game, I have a mejoberry plant and keep 200 berries on me. Easily tamed the trike. Then all my stuff died to a spino, which is exactly when my rivalry started.
I had a monkey named Limbani once and he saved me multiple times from dilos and raptors. One day I fly into the swamp with him on my shoulder while riding a ptera and I get killed by the crocodiles in the swamp. I didn’t know where I died so I stopped searching and tamed an argy instead. One day later I look for limbani in the swamp and I see him alive and fighting sarcos. Now he lives with me in my pirate ship happily
The Red Pike (Crossover)

"The search for my mother continues to unsuccessful. The villagers claim to know nothing of her disappearance, but there are rumors she was tracking the conquerer Gaius Nerva. My newfound hope for finding her is to find Nerva. A man with such a trail of destruction cannot disappear without traces."
A loud crash from the forge room halted Siyu's writing. He listened for a second, signed his entry "Siyu-An Li," and slowly approached the room. A small figure was perched on the smithy table, holding a sword outstetched towards him. "What did I tell you about playing with my sword?" Siyu said, turning on the lights. The figure leapt from the table and waddled into the light, revealing itself to be a monkey. He lifted the sword up with a grin. "No, Xiaochou," Siyu said, taking the sword and placing back on the table. "Too heavy, too dangerous." There was another crash and a horse's cry from the stable. Xiachou leapt back onto the smithy and lifted the sword again, shrieking at the door. Siyu took the sword again and held out his arm to let the monkey climb onto his shoulder, slowly approaching the door to the stable. He threw it open, his sword at the ready. The stable was empty, his horse missing. The trough had been knocked over, and there was a trail of blood leading off away from his house.

Hello, listeners. I have a story to tell about my beloved monkey, Mini Jalepeno. So, it was a few years back(2018 or 2019) when I tamed this meso I saw, I named him Mini Jalepeno(I named myself Jalepeno). Then, I go to tame a Spino, I tamed the Spino but a few seconds before I got back Mini Jalepeno’s death message appeared on my screen, he was killed by a raptor, I was gonna finish my boat, “The Chilly Raptors” (named after my pack of raptors) but instead I looked for his body, I couldn’t find it. I remembered the times we spent together, hunting, eating and more, I have grown to hate every wild raptor and kill them instantly since Mini Jalepeno’s death. I have created multiple gravestones for him and have put some of the things he enjoyed in a box. I will never forget you or the times we have spent together, bye Mini Jalepeno.
