I tamed a one of these guys and named him "uh oh stinky". I guess it worked, because when i was wandering around, gathering resources, a titanoboa attacked me. I used my pike to get it to low health, but ive been tranquilized by its poison and fell unconscious! Then,"uh oh stinky" saved my life by throwing poop at it until the bastard snake finally died.
