By far fastest traveller. Over 3 times faster than a pteranodon. Only downgrade is that its a glider, not a flyer, so you cant climb altitude, except if you catch some wind.

I recommend a net gun for taming high levels as they like to fly away

Net gun it then knock it out with whatever tranqulising item you have

On lost island, they can be found on the top right part of the map

Net guns are a lifesaver. You need a harpoon gun which is quite expensive for early game and some polymer for net projectiles but they allow you to get so many tames like a griffin, argy, or maewing. Maewings have low torpor so you can use a crossbow or equus (very good). On fjdour they are around top right corner or in asgard(these spots are highly recommended) lost island around east of map, genesis 2 IDK.

Fastest traveller, it glides and can carry baby dinos, Hugh damage belly slam attack.

Would recommend taking them in Asgard, spent 2 hours trying to tame one of the 4 I could find in red woods, literally counted over 12 in the first 5 minutes in Asgard.

1: it can lay Basic to EXCEPTIONAL eggs at a decently fast speed without a mate!

2: it's fast in the wild and tamed! Gliding around in the fake sky of Gen2 is a great time!

3: it can be netted, no other explanation

4: it can hold and feed your babies like a procoptodon/feeding trough

Wasn’t finding hardly any on fjordur. Then checked the snow region in redwood region by green Ob and found tons. 2 of which were 180s. Check there

The best way to tame dis big boy/girl Is to trap it then use electrical Rod it's not to hard to get but very effective

When trapping one DO NOT use your tame to help block them, i was one shot away from getting two max levels and they both just disappeared

In fiordr go to the snowy part of the redwoods in to find them

Maewing can still mate while on cooldown if the partner is ready to mate. It will act as a male and won't drop an egg.

If playing on local/dedicated server, you can just shoot them with a tranq arrow and wait for them to fly out of render distance. They will immediately stop running and you can just run up to them and shoot ‘em again. Repeat this process for an easy tame! I know ark is shutting down official servers soon so this tip should become very relevant.

The great thing about the maewing is that it will also nurse poison wyverns, I haven't tried it with a wyvern from crystal isles yet, but it probably will care for those as well.

Use the net projectile its very easy to knock out then

Their eggs come in different qualities so it's possible to make all the kibble from their eggs

They are breedable and upon being bred they will actually drop 2 eggs (one from each Maewing). Their eggs incubate super fast so be ready to take care of the baby immediately.

A good way to tame these bad boys Is to use the net projectiles with the harpoon gun. It only takes a few tranqs to knock out and eats berries and or meat. You can usually find these in the Eden biome on gen 2 and on the plains on Lost Island. Another good and effective way to take them is to take a large bear trap, and eat a rare flower to get it to go into the bear trap then just knock it out, hope this helps!

Fjordur Asgard is full of these guys. When you teleport in fly straight and you will find a big lake with quite a few of them. If not just fly around. Guarantee you will find them somewhere in Asgard.
