If you mate Maewings together both parents will drop an egg, The eggs are tiered like kibble and used to make that type of kibble.

These are the controls on console. X for small jump, hold X for super jump, sprint (L3) and jump equals glide (I don't remember if you have to hold X when gliding so be careful). These are the co trols for Playstation so I hope this helps!

I think that these guys are the best travel mounts in the game, no doubt.

Literally the best exploration mount in the game.

EXTREMELY easy to tame as they have very low torpor, do not aggro and eat meat. (Mutton only next to kibble)

Can easily be tamed with the use of a simple trap and/or rare flower if you haven’t unlocked net gun yet (since they do zoom away the moment they take even the slightest damage) or if you’re like me, just chase it run their a$$ down with tranqs caveman style.

They consume very low stamina as they glide through the air, you can pretty much go from one corner of the map to another if you yeet yourself off of a high cliff and barely even use 50% of their stamina.

They can also jump very high if you hold down the jump button for a second or two which enables to glide even when it seems physically impossible.

Overall great starter/mid game tame and dare I say, even a end game tame.

Also, it’s super easy to get wyvern eggs with a maewing, it’s almost a joke as the maewing also swims very fast and doesn’t have an oxygen meter so you can pretty much dive bomb wyvern eggs (I can usually grab 2-3 eggs before things get too dangerous) and immediately glide away safely or directly into water and come out whenever my oxygen is low. (Wyverns don’t follow you into water and easily get distracted by literally any herbivore in their path)

These are too fast if you jump off a mountain. they are also super easy to tame with BASIC kibble. You heard me. BASIC. They also ko super quick, even at high levels. Saddle is reasonably cheap, and this thing makes breeding and taming super easy, as it lays every egg size and can feed and carry up to 4 babies around in its saddle. They’re found in plains usually. Put 4 billboards tightly around them to trap, then tranq it. After it’s tamed with the super cheap kibble, you’ve got yourself the fastest creature in the game who can also handle babies for you, too.

Enable nursing to squirt tasty baby milk from those 8 nipples in a 1000 radius to feed babies slowly over time.

Nursing efficiency appears to increase range.

imagine your tryna imprint ur baby dinos. you leave it outside to grow. while you do some work ect. and then come back to it disappears

Hover over top directly: this stops their jump flight maneuvering;

Then rain down tranq arrows should take 2

Maewings spawn in groups of three in Asgard on Fjordur.

They can be trapped while not aggroed by placing a wooden billboard over their neck, and behind them (sometimes an extra over their midsection bc they will try to jump and glide away).

They can swim very fast in the water

Theese are so fast in water and air. They knock out easily, I tamed a 135 in 10 minutes with raw prime meat and 5 darts from rifle. Very early game I recommend

Passive creatures, will jump and glide away when hit. Can be found in the Boskar plains on Lost Island.

If you want it early game I suggest crossbow and chase down with a pteranadon

When they said it can take care of your creatures, did it mean like keep them fed? Or does it automatically imprint them? If it imprints then that would be cool for pve players.

The only creature that can catch this thing is a tropeognathus at full thrust. If one of them is chasing you you have done something that someone else might not have liked so much. And you will die.

They will be super useful for breeding purposes and if you breed a good mutated one they will be very useful for getting around think of them as a poor man's Rock Drake 👍🏻

Helloooooo!!! :D Mobile user here! I used god console to get a few of them onto The Island, and they are AMAZING!!! So here is how to use them [Mobile controls] When interacting with them, enabling Nursing will auto-feed any puggles that come to their parents. Also, since they have no In-game gender, you can give them any name- and just PRETEND they are Male or Female! : > also, because of that, both parents will lay eggs. [baby platypuses are called puggles, so the babies are called puggles too.] [I hate the correct plural term for platypus. Platypuses??? It’s like saying octopuses- it’s correct but it SUCKS- ] Also, egg rarities are for different kibbles I guess.. Next, Riding Controls. If you just tap once to jump, you are gonna end up with the lamest, slowest jump. You gotta hold to jump. The longer you hold, the farther you go. There is a limit however, I just.. don’t know the measurement.. :| And while you are in the air, swiping up for the attack will make them spread out their fleshy membrane “wings” and slow down the fall. And if you swipe up while on the ground, there is a body slam attack, and after using it you skid for a bit then stop. But if you are at the coast in the shallowest part possible, when you do it you go for farther AND faster too! You can even continue onto land, which is.. odd but it’s fun nonetheless! And if you get them to high enough hp, you could wade around in the somewhat shallows or swamps and kill a ton of piranhas! As others have said, great for stealing eggs. Or you could just raise certain animals, but where’s the fun in that??

You can use a harpoon launcher with a net to trap the maewing and tranq it, also it eats meat or berries and you can find them in redwood forest in fjordur as thats where i got mine.
