Chapter 8

How long had it been since the last battle? Nevermind. So, our leaders requested that a handful of us join in on the space battle going on near the moon. Apparently the URE had a huge space station near the moon, and it was producing heavy weapons and vehicles like the exo-mek and tek fighter jet and drop ships. I had a good amount of experience with the fighter jets, since I have had to use it to both defeat and chase down some people with bounties on their heads. I was currently waiting in the space docks, which is a place where a huge amount of fuel is put into your jet so that it can launch into space. The jet is already sturdy enough, being made from tek. My jet was ready, so I proceeded to board it and got the hyper-drive on countdown.

“Launching in 3, 2, 1…” I said. My jet blasted off at a high speed. After some time, I made it into space. My objective was to defend for a little bit until it was safe for specialists to land and destroy the space station. I shot at other tek jets, destroying them. Fighter jets got destroyed pretty easy by other jets, despite the strong tek that the jet is made out of.

“Enemies engaging.” Said the jet’s system. I saw an arrow off to the side pointing towards the enemy. I turned around and did a barrel roll, before shooting a barrage of tek lasers.

“More then 3 enemies detected. Careful, pilot.” The ships systems said. I heard lasers above me, and then a few booms. I turned upwards, and saw the enemy jets destroyed. About 20 minutes later, I got message that the area had been clear. The URE had lacked power and supplies, and this was their saving grace. If we destroyed this, they would surely die.
