When you knock it out it will be set on hunt. So don't freak out when it's missing right after you tamed it because it's probably hunting things for you.

A good way to tame this creature is to lure it,if u have any items especially meat lure it with that. it will swoop giving u a window to bolas and then trank it.

(Remember, this is a tip for pc players only, I have no knowledge about ark nintendo switch or xbox)

How to tame a very annoying flying attacking seagull:

1. Grab a bola (get more than 3 if your aim is trash)

2. Get a club, bow, tranq arrows and narcotics (these guys have extremely low health even on high level ones so i recommend you use the club)

3. These are piscivores, so bring fish meat or prime fish meat (regular kibble recommended if you are taming a high level one)

4. Bola it and use club or maybe tranqs I guess XD

5. Put the food in its inventory and feed it narcotics (the torpor drain is quite slow but these guys don't have a lot of torpor themselves and their food drain rate is really slow)

6. You now have an ichthy! Very useful on pvp servers btw

If you knock one out and it falls in the water, it will drown and die while unconscious. Also, you can’t retrieve the things it took from you in its inventory, which blows.

Bola then tranq they have low health use tranq gun or try to punch 👍

When using find some fish

Place your bird on the ground

Set hunt and retrieve

Set aggressive

Wait

Use hatchet and you'll get PFM from the fish it brings back once you're done getting fish set neutral and pick up your bird.

THESE SHOULD BE LIKE PEGOS BJT THEY STEAL NARCOTIC AND KNOCK THEMSELVES OUT

How to tame an Ichthyornis!

1. Grab a bola, (unlocked lvl 8), and get its attention so it attacks you.

2. When it comes to dive for you, bola it.

3. Grab your bow (unlocked lvl 10), and tranq arrows (unlocked lvl 21) and shoot it 2-4 times.

4. After its knocked out, put fish meat in the inventory. It will take a couple minutes to be tamed, so you might have to hit it again with a tranq arrow when the torpidity is low. (Make sure not to kill it!)

It will gather a lot of fish meat. I mean a LOT of fish meat!

Easy way.

1) bola it

2) place cage over it

3) build 1x1 box with at least 1 window around cage

4) remove cage

5) tranq bird through window

Get something that flys to kill it once it attacks you you flying, Dino will kill it easily

First off, 1 tranq arrow will knock out a low lvl one. You don't need a bola. Second, knock it out near Damon tooth samon, as you can gather prime fish with a sickle.

It is actually a 89% death for crossbow and 78% chance for a bow.

Their health to torpor ratio is really bad, so you'll need to be lucky with the stat rolls to knock one out without killing it with arrows. It's a bit dumb too since tranq darts are unlocked at the point where these little guys aren't as useful any more...

You can tame it with bow and fish, is useful to get fish when you are starting off.

I Ike this bird because it can get me prime meat easliy

I'm waiting for it to get the fish out of the water first since its slower and easier to bola it. Not sure if they land so they can rest.

For the people who play on ark mobile these things are extremely difficult and are very hard to find in ark mobile I have traveled to almost every beach and I have never seen one the chances of finding one increases in the dungeon tho but I don’t recommend putting your hopes up if you want to tame this thing
