Really easy to raise baby’s, high weight allows for more meat stacks early, it also eats incredibly slow so it doesn’t burn through food very quickly.

If one is chasing you run for the surface as there's a limit to how high they can go.

The easiest way to tame a Dunkleosteus:-

1) Tame a Baryonyx.

2) Bring a scuba gear.

3) Bring a really good crossbow to knock it out.

4) Find a Dunkleosteus (mainly found in deep ocean).

5) Kill all hostiles around it.

6) Use Baryonyx's spin attack to stun a Dunkleosteus.

7) Then knock it out with crossbow (hit on it's body because it's head is fully armored).

8) Then feed it superior kibble, raw mutton, raw prime meat etc.

9) You have a Dunkleosteus.

10) It's really good for harvesting oil from oil nodes in the ocean.

If you're planning on just shooting them from the back of a baryonyx while it tanks the damage, like I did. Don't think it will be that easy. They try to swim away the whole time, and you have to chase them down.

You NEED scuba gear or lazurus chowder and if your thinking 'nah I upgraded my oxygen so I'll be fine' NO they take too long to take down. Also on mobile they don't fight back

For this creature specifically, I feel like tranq harpoons are the best. They cost more than arrows but it’ll take a lot less, and these things are hell to knock out

How to tame a Dunkleosteus

1: Get Bio Toxin/Narcotics, Crossbow with Tranq’ Arrows, and Prime Meat or Raw Meat

2: Wear a Scuba Tank or eat Lazarus Chowder

3: Ride an underwater mount and find the Dunkleosteus you’d like to tame, then kill all nearby fish that could be dangerous.

4: Swim around it and shoot its backside(not it’s head) until it falls unconscious.

5: Put the meat and narcotics you brought and wait. (If it’s torpor level drops under half, force feed it narcotics.)

6: Once it’s tamed, either have it follow you home, equip a saddle and ride it home(not recommended if you used a mount) or go home on your own and Request/Teleport it to you.

I’m one year through with ark mobile and I have never seen a tusoe, mosa or a dunky pls tell me where common spawns are, many thanks

If you tranq them from the right angle you can get them to start swimming into the ground which will force them up resulting in them swimming to the surface. You can then build walls or structures around it so it doesn't escape then sit back like you are tranqing a giga until it falls unconscious.

When taming, take extra bows/crossbows with you. You will most likely break more than one before you knock the dunkle out.

If taming x dunky get ready to spend your life’s earnings on tranq arrows

Here’s a taming guide!: First you need tranq arrows between 99 and 200 because they are tanks! Second find them: They spawn at the edge of the map at the bottom of the sea. Next aim for the body! Nowhere else because it’s very hard to knock them out with headshots and Titanaboa Kibble or Superior Kibble is a good idea since it’s easier and lastly have fun with your new Slam Dunk! (Also bring a lot of bio toxin)

It is very easy to tame one of these, all you will need is an icthy and some tranq arrows, crossbow(depends what crossbow is it like ascendant doesn’t have to be) Mostly all sea creatures don’t agro on you while your on your icthy so this makes you able to shoot of your icthy. This method can be used for any tame in the ocean.

If your on ark mobile grab a crossbow (a good one) a good underwater tame and the scuba set so you don't drown.i finnaly tamed a plesi with this method and now it's time for taming the dunki (I am coming armoured shark)

-They take a LOT of tranq arrows, even with my 300% Ascendant Crossbow.

-Careful if using a crossbow to knock out. I almost killed a 120 trying to tame it. (Use a few harpoon bolts to lower the odds this happening, as they do less damage)

-Be ready for a long fight, and don’t forget to kill all the enemies in a large area so they don’t bother you. (Dunkies will retreat as soon as you start shooting, rarely turning around to bite.)

-I just swam after mine with good speed and flippers, but you may need to use a mount that allows firing while you ride after it.

-Try not to let it retreat too far, use the world border to your advantage.

If you dont have a good crossbow, prepare to be in the ocean all day, because this thing have a decent damage reduction but have the torpor of a Mosa. Easy tame but absolutely tedious

on 5x taming server, spot a lvl 25 x-dunkleoteus, set up a trap with 24 stone pillar and 9 stone ceiling, spent 10 minutes to lure it into the trap. then pull out my 154% crossbow, sending 100+ tranq arrows....and kill it. yet sacrificing my lvl 133 dolphin to the eels and megalodon😑

Found some of these X ones around 55.9, 25.3 on Fjordur not exact that’s just the coast but in the water area there are a few the 150’s I tamed all swam into the rocks easy tames lots of tranqs needed!

Be careful when it because unconscious sometimes it’s hard to tell and I’ve ruined some taming effectiveness by hitting them when they’re down routinely checked with your spyglass

Are they worth the tame because I have found one 150 and just want to see if it is worth it
