Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a dung beetle? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a dung beetle.
Once you tame it.. you can pick it up and ride passenger on a Tapajara
I keep mine in the greenhouse, though I hear they might collect poop while wandering. I should prob test that
If taming without access to an argent or larger flying creature, you can use a raft and keep carnivores from aggro-ing the beetle by carrying it while driving the raft, both you and the beetle will be safe no matter how near to shore you wind up (useful for traversing black sand river on the island map)
You can easily tame this if you have a phlomia and just get poop from that before you go looking for a beetle in a cave.
If you get a phiomia then feed it it as much stimberries as you can if you want lots of medium poop
Once tamed with dino poop.. these guys can be tough to maneuver out of caves. You can double tap pick up button if they get stuck in the water like on dead island cave entrance or usually just set to lowest follow setting.
Where do you find these on mobile because I want one
Feed giga poop for instant tame
Was wondering in the central cave with bug repellent on as spotted a lvl72 on the wall next to me. I put some spoiled meat in my last hot bar. Poof I got me a portable fertilizer. Named her Ferdy.🤘🏻
Easy to tame in Central cave. Bring phimoa and stimberrys to feed medium poop
Find a bronto wait for it to poop and there is tame food I used Rex poop though
If you have cryopods put a large dino in it then after that take it back out it will poop repeat till you have enough dont know why it works but it does
Feed while riding an arthropluera- they do not move and you can move as close as you want.
To tame every animal easier what I do is kill it take its implant and revive it and knock it out because at an obelisk it’s easier to tame it because nothing will attack you and at a custom revival platform it’s even easier because most of the time it’s at your base where it’s peaceful now it is expensive so you only want to do it with hard animals like this one and make sure they are low level.
If server setting allow tames in caves take a saber into one with plenty of poop. Kill everything while taming the beetle now you have plenty of chitin and you can ride the saber while holding the beetle. I did this with a 130 beetle and ran through carno, raptor, and sabor infested plains till i got home
I keep mine in the greenhouse, though I hear they might collect poop while wandering. I should prob test that
You can have someone pick it up and then carry them with your ptera if you don't have a bigger bird.
On the Ark and Center they can be found in caves.
On the Scorched Earth they can be found in abundance in the dunes surrounding the map, they are not dangerous but most creatures nearby are dangerous.
Just sit behind it with poop bring a phiomia with stems just to be sure you have enough
You must have beetle on wandering to produce fertilizer and oil . Beetles have N/A by gender and are not breedable . Only increase weight so you can hold more poop. I placed beetle in my room inside my fort and set in on wander since it's not a huge open space it produces resources without moving which I have no complaints . Beetles also eat Spoiled meat and I let beetle eat from feeding trough in order to use all its inventory for poop.
