Dung beetles are a must have for any crop plots, so this guide will help you to get one for yourself.

1. Dung beetles eat feces, so the first thing you need to do is gather some, whether by farming it from your own dinos, or gathering it from wild dinos. The bigger the feces, the more progress and effectiveness it gives, so go for as large of dung as you can get. They can also eat regular meat, but literally anything is better, so never use it, if you are unable to get medium or large feces spoiled meat can be used for better effectiveness and progress than other foods.

2. Dung beetles are a passive tame, so all you need to do is walk up to it and feed it, and since it is slow and will wander like normal a trap is not needed but can be helpful, however like all passive tames they take around 10 to 20 minutes between the first and second feed, so keep that in mind when planning to tame one.

3. The biggest threat/difficulty to taming one of these is the risk of other hostile creatures attacking you or it when taming. As such it is wise to bring a weapon or tame to fend them off or to trap it in a space you and it will not be attacked.

Happy taming!
