I made a taming pen and I get my argie to pick up a wolf and drop it in the taming pen and just stand on top shooting tranqs! - careful though you’ll have to constantly fly up high then down and repeat till you get back to the taming pen because they attack

I tamed one by getting a mount with a lot of health and letting the wolf hit it (but i play on easy difficulty so it was like lvl 10 or smth if theres a higher level one you should proabably bola it) then i used tranq arrows to knock it out and fed it raw meat

Lol I have a 466 wolf on midium server 1k and more merle 5k health I will tell how to get at 1000 ups

Tips in taming a high level wolf in the Island (Hard mode)

Prep:

•A good sword

•1500+armor with cold resistance (I have ascendant chitin armor lol)

•20-30 Ancient Amber (depending on the level of the wolf)

•Grapple (1 is enough but just add more to be sure)

•A long ranged weapon (just make sure it has decent damage and durability)

•Spyglass (to see the level, or you can just go near the wolf but that's just dangerous:)

•Bola (of course you will need this)

•Knockout weapons (tranqs)

•Taming Items (Prime or raw meat, Narcotics, and soothing balm if possible)

Steps

•Go to cave where the artifact of the strong is.

•If you can see some wolves, grapple to the icy ceiling.

•Use your sword while grappled if onycs are attacking you.

•Find the wolf of your dreams

•kill the other enemies in the area using your ranged weapon or sword if you want.

•When all that is left is your choosen wolf, kill it but make sure you don't hit its dead body.

•Check the dead body and get its "Implant"

•Go to an oblisk or revival platform.

•Prepare your bola, taming items and knockout weapons.

•Revive the wolf with your amber and ready to aim the bola.

•Bola the wolf when it's revived then do the taming basics.(knockout and feed)

•If all things go well, then you now have a high level direwolf

I tried a 600+ lvl male wolf and then it turned into a lvl 900 when I finished taming. I wasn't satisfied so I tamed another 600 female wolf, breed them and now I have a lvl 800 wolf with 10000 base HP and 1000% base Melee damage.(It's not much but it's fun cuz I play PVE)

Packs are a need for pvp servers.

Use tranq darts while riding a bear makes taming super easy. Make sure bear has 3,000 to 6,000 health. You can put down and tame whole packs of wolves

Make a a 4x4 that pen with a door on one side and pick it up with an argentavus and headshot it

I have 167 with 4789 hp and a 194 with 2078 and 200 attack per hit

I love these guys for starters you don’t need a saddle to ride them and you can have lots of them if you what an army

To the person who said it disappeared after they went away and came back it’s due to the wolf having despawned. You can’t go out of render distance or the creatures you’re taming have a chance to just despawn

These are awesome tames and thanks devs because they don’t require saddles(hard to knock out but easy to trap and feed). They are SUPER STRONG so be prepared to encounter them in the snow and have good armor. Also don’t bother knocking them out with Scorpio. They are too strong for scorpions so just use tranq darts on a big rock they can’t get on. R.I.P danny. Enjoy your new wolf and please up this if it helped you know how awesome they are!

Warning, dont tame a max lvl direwolf if you're in endgame/midgame. Just tame the cave direwolf, they had insane lvl. I tame a lvl 270 at medium

He is mostly good with packs and admincheat summon direwolf also forcetame 🐺

I recommend using pterenodon and this is with all creatures u want to see any creature b4 it sees u make sure u have tranqs and a bow or two I recommend grabbing 30 to 40 tranqs u won't need em all but just bring it, so I ride into the snow with ptera and u will most likely see a mammoth or rhino fighting some when they are done use the ptera to harvest the meat of the dead predator u will get like 5 prime meat if ur lucky then find your wolf rarely u will find these guys solo and thats great if they are alone they can't use pack buff tranq it when it starts running after few tranqs hit it one more time they won't fall once they start running they need one or two more, give it the prime meat or regular meat or prime fish what ever u got maybe feed it some narcotics then when it tamed up whistle tell it to stop moving it will stay put now u can go back to base on your flier(it doesn't matter what flier I only said ptera cus that's what I have) then request the dire wolf and it will teleport to u goodluck get at least 2 dire wolf then get on the highest level one and if on mobile tap the screen with to fingers U DONT NEED SADDLE 10/10 tame very easy tame watch videos if u need more help

You should first kill all of then but before pick the best one and kill the rest and then lead the dire wolf to a trap like a stone wall trap and then nock it out and then you got your self a good old dire wolf. Hope I could help

If knocking these things out and you run out of arrows/ darts, don’t worry. It takes about five seconds for a there torpor to be in full effect. So if you hit a dire wolf, the tranq dart torpor would only be 1/5 of the way into the dire wolf. HIT UR HEADSHOTS!!!

How to tame: Find a low level one. And lead it away from it pack. (This will really only work on scorched earth because they either travel in very small packs, or sometimes solo. The most I have yet seen them in is a pack of three.) Bola it. Then shoot tranqs into face. (Or boomerang) Once it is knocked out, place plant species Y all around it so u won’t be killed if it’s pack comes back or a hostile animal comes by. I recommend starve taking them because you xD n then tame them with regular meat. Hope this helps!

When I tame dire wolves I like to use a trap. The trap consists of at least four stone foundations, eight door frames, one stone ceiling, and a ramp. To get the direwolf into the trap I use either a argy or a wyvern. Once I get the direwolf into the trap I then put it to sleep through shooting it with tranquilizing arrows. Once knocked out, the food I like to give to the direwolf is mutton which makes it a quick and easy tame. (Sorry about making this so long.)
