To survive in the tundra you need to either have lots of campfires or have the certain armour (I can’t remember it’s name) made out of pelt. However pelt is hard to get so I recommend making a boat and stacking it with campfires and plenty of wood. Also stock it up with food and other spare resources and arrows (or bullets). Approach the island from the water and went you start freezing turn on the campfires. Find a safe place to get close to shore and start killing mammoths and other creatures there. As soon as you can I would recommend making the pelt armour and then you can turn off the fires. You can also bring some tames along with you to help. Once you find a pack of wolves I would try to kill the lower level ones and keep the higher level ones. If only one of them is a high level then knock it out and tame it. Then find another pack with a high level of the opposite gender. After taming that one I would bring both wolves back to your boat and go back to your base. Now you can breed the wolves as much as you like to get more wolves.

These things can be tamed with raw meat, raw prime meat, and other hand-held killerforhumans. They can reach up to lvl 125 as a normal max level. You're toast if you're a noob to the frozen land, where these guys spawn. Killerforhumans are meat that, you guessed it, kill humans, where these meats earned their name: killerforhumans. Wolfs are found in the redwood forests and come in packs. For a game I recommend a shotgun kill all but two then bola then and knock them out. Tame them then get to work on breeding. Having you own pack is a pretty good honor guard

As the dire wolves almost always hunt in packs it can be difficult to escape them if you encounter early game. Because of their pack skills they will try to surround you, the easiest way I've found is to run to a high place that they cannot reach you or climb(such as a boulder) And stand there, if you have a long range weapon you can start to pick them off one by one. Due to low health it is relatively easy to kill the beasts.

They are much faster than player base speed so if you encounter one get to water and or try to kill it

If you see a pack of these wolves don’t be scared just swim in the water fully submerged whistle stop and they are an instant tame they all stop and are suddenly all tamed the only thing is you need to be carrying exactly 43 prime meat and 18 normal raw meat nothing else. I I did this without realising and it was insane. I tame 12 wolves at once with ease try this because it may only work on mobile

Be wary when approaching these powerful creatures. The Dire Wolf will easily make work of you and you tames, as they tend to spawn in groups, doing more damage as the group is larger in size. To fight make sure you are equipped with no less than chitin armor, and some sort of gun, as a bow will be essentially useless against a mate boosted one, and they ofte. Are mate boosted
