What are tips for direwolf? Tips and strategies for direwolf in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
How to tame a dire wolf
1. Get on a high rock
2. Make sure to bring some bolas
3. Bola the whole pack
! Enjoy your pet dire wolves !
Ark mobile players if you don't have carno kibble, allo kibbe + soothing balm works as well in terms of effectiveness
Easy enough tame with a bola and a decent bow, just make sure you deal with its friends first..
Try to find one who has strayed far from the pack or is by itself for it is nearly impossible to take one out without calling the other wolves attention. Use a bola on it and bring it down with tranq arrows. It usually takes about 4 or 5 arrows for me. Beating it with a club usually kills it instead
Really the best way to get a whole pack with this creature would be to train them like old school COD zombies if you have your movement speed up a little bit and so long as your close to a body of water you can escape and/or use the body of water as a tool to tame...now it is tricky but my partner and I use it a lot when we move to a new snow biome
Step 1
Obtain crossbow and tranks or bio (only tool that can fire underwater.
2.run to a pack that's close to water
3. Let them chase you and jump in water....
4.shoot like fish in barrel
Now I can see how this can seem like a high risk mission however the wolves will not travel too far in water and eventually retreat to dry land that's when you just pop up out and shoot them again to finish the knockout...the only other "hard" part is getting THE ONLY TWO GENDERS a male and female...then breeding can start and boom you have two packs that you have no idea what to do with because we picked up a couple and the next day there was 20 of em.....
Hey!!! Just wondering if someone can answer my question, I had like 13 direwolves in my trap, I logged off after leaving the trap, came back when I logged back on, and there wasn’t one in the trap. Please tell me if you know what happened.
get up somewhere high maybe not on a medium ish rock they will jump and get you trank em and put meat (perferably prime meat) and tame
Easy to knock out but carry enough darts for the pack 20 should do at least for the pack I'd tame and level them up for bit like around 30-40 can tank a lot of creatures and no need Saddle
Okay these are AMAZING! Tame easily with prime meat, probably Insta tame (low level) great pack creatures! Highly recommend them!

I suggest (as I’m doing currently) that you get one male and female dire wolf with lvls of your choice and then breed them up as much as you want,I suggest you get 2+ Mutations though.Having a dire wolf pack of around 5-7 with lvls higher than 14-15 will give you a higher chance of surviving a cave run.
Easy Solo Direwolf Taming on Mobile or PC and maybe other consoles (only requires a decently lvled Argy)
1. Place 4 stone foundations in a 2x2 square
2. Place 8 stone doorways or walls around the edges (doorways are cheaper and easier to knock the direwolf out with)
3. Grab your argy (make sure it has at least 8k health)
4. Pick up a deer or a sheep
5. When you find the direwolf you want, kill the deer/sheep and harvest it for the health buff
6. Pick up the direwolf and drop it in the trap
7. Tranq it
8. Feed it
This has helped me tame SOOO many direwolves, though a lot of them died. I lost 3 argys before I figured out the deer/sheep system.
I recently went to the snow biome to do my daily rounds around. I went with a butload of bolas and my freaking army of friends. I’m guessing they now hate me. Welp...
Built a rather large trap on a raft using a large Dino gateway. Walls that were 2 high and 4 in length with cutting it in half with a small doorway. Ceiling with a trap door floor. On top a storage box and bed to stash supplies and in case I needed to respawn. Took a bird with me just Incase. Sailed to the snowy mountain area ( took place on center map) sailed up to the shoreline. Within 5 mins was greeted by a pack of 5. Angles the boat with a ramp so it was a straight line to get me. They went right into the trap. Went around closed the door and sailed back to base. Used the trap door Ceiling to pump tranqs in them.
They jump much higher than one would anticipate.
