I always thought it's hard to tame, and because i didn't know how. All you need to do is kill all of them except the one with a glow(you can't tame one alone) afterwards don't worry it's gonna become passive and not gonna hit u, get taming food,prime for faster tame. Keep feeding it until it's yours. This creature can jump several meters, can deal huge amounts of damage and can be a tank.

2 raptors and a rifle are good enough to hunt it down and kill the troop while leaving the alpha alive

Kill its family, beat it until it is below 15% health, then feed it. You must do this to the alpha also. It should have an orange-red aura around its body.

Get a good weapon with lots of ammo, grapple near the bottom of a tree so they don’t run off and kill the betas in front of the alpha. Make sure the area is safe and the dinopithecus won’t agro to anything else and run away.

Highly suggest trapping them and killing all but the alpha

Use a fire wyvern to kill all but the alpha because the alpha has the most health it should survive

If there are two dinopithecus that are the same level in a pack you don’t have to kill one of them to tame the other. I found a pack with two 140 females and was able to tame both of them together.

All you have to use is a pt to kill betas might have to heal then just hurt alpha boom your good but don’t forget after hoping off your flyer keep a eye on it I’ve lost mine before lol

They are too easy to tame simply use a rex kill all monkeys except the alpha the use prime it will increase 3x

As of Dec 2021 you cannot tame the juveniles because they’re too buggy.

Find a high level Dinopithecus and kill lesser Dinopithecus around it. After 2-3 Beta Dinopithecus killed, it will prompt you to bring the creatures HP down to 85% or below. At which point you will be able to feed the Dinipithecus Raw mutton, or Exceptional Kibble. Enjoy your Monkey, and don't forget...these things can equip helmets!

To easily tame gt a good pt and find a ground of monkee, kill everything but the alpha which has an orange glow around it. Them go right up to the monkee once on its own or with its children and passive tame it with berries or meat. There is no saddle

I have a level 130 dinopithecus… and it has 16000 hp, 3192 stamina, and it dose like 2000 damage! Plus, it dose double that when doing a ground pound! it can through POOP witch slows your attacker down, though it’s a bit tedious to tame. But overall, it’s a great Dino!

Not a plug, but you can make a whole pack trap to tame this awesome Babboon. A youtuber called ‘Captain Fatdog’. His videos have the dinosaurs eyes replaced with wiggly eyes, so anyway his trap idea can be hit and miss if riding a dino, uses ramps to get them trapped in a box of stone railing. Can trap a whole Pack. This was my 2 dino tame after i spawned so it’s not difficult just tricky to outrun to get to trap in time.

Find the group and trap with a door frame 3 fall trap with Ramps. Technically you just need to kill the 2 betas under the alpha and it'll be ready to tame. I tamed plenty with killing just 2. But to be safe kill them all. Use an argy and crossbows if it's early game with plenty of arrows and can be done without even being far into the game. I used prime meat. The taming bar goes down but they ask for food very fast.

Its almost a passive tame. First location a pack, second kill the all the others except the alpha. Third brings its health to 85% and then got up to it and feed it berrys or mutton and you got your self a murder monke.

You have to kill a set amount of the pack(excluding the alpha) then go up to the alpha and it is a passive tame. I believe that the alpha is the only one of the pack that you can tame
