ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Tips & Strategies
They are omnivores so you can feed them berries and meat. Up so noobs can see.
You need to kill all but the alpha (since it would be the highest level). Upon doing so it will be passive towards you and your tame. You can hop off then feed it meat. Not sure what kibble it uses. An awesome tame comes out around 5k health and 3k stam in 150s from what I’ve seen and scales cliffs and structures extremely quickly. One of the most entertaining dinos I’ve used in a long while
You can only tame the alpha monkey, the one that has the glow. You will have to kill the entire pack EXCEPT the alpha. You'll want to get it below 85% of its health. When you have done that you passive tame it with its preferred food, like exceptional kibble. I'd guess it eats meat too. Hope it helps!

Return to Monke
To all the people saying the dinopithecus sucks, or this isn’t a dinosaur blah blah blah..kick rocks. One this isn’t 2017, we have a whole Arsenal of dinos that aren’t dinos, too include dragons and space whales, even baby stealing platapus, so get dumped on. Two, the same old same old two legged reptiles and 4 legged mammals were getting old. People grew tired of using the same whole rexs for bosses and thaylas for caves. This is a breath of fresh air, and it’s a modest one at that. HP and Damage is on par with thyla/shadowmane, but with interesting twists such as helmets instead of saddle(more armor but degrades) and can throw poop and grenades. I tamed my first 145 yesterday and I’ve been completely happy with it in these early days of the new dlc!
I don’t know if this is intentional, but these guys also spawn on Valguero. I play on an official server, and the redwoods are packed with these guys.
To tame it you first need to kill the alpha's entire family and then beat it until you assert dominance and then just forcibly shove food into him until it gets Stockholm Syndrome and becomes your best friend
Can everybody who still plays ark survival evolved Like this Tip and everyone who plays ark survival ascended dislike. I wanna See who wins!
As of now (dec 22 2021) there is a bug where these guys spawn in the val redwoods. Tame ‘‘em there while you can!
Its a kind of passive tame
You can only tame the alpha from the group but first u have to kill the others to gain its trust than u have tu get below 85% health than you can passive tame it with mutton prime
Nearly the same base stats as the Shadowmane but more melee.
When in a pack the bleed is applied after you do the battle cry and the mate and pack boost stack, you can imagine the damage. Melee scales very well. The poop slows and drains, making this a very good high damage hit and run animal. The only thing holding it back would be the lack of a saddle but that’s easily remedied with a helmet. If you’re going to using the throwables, throw poop first to slow and then a grenade for efficiency. Could be very good in pvp with a pack and the bleed could potentially shred through high armor targets.
If anyone wants to know, these guys are skittish when alone and aggressive when in packs.
They can be found In the redwoods on the lost island map.
Taming is easy just
1. find a group.
2. Kill all but one (preferably the alpha since it’s the highest level)
3. Injure the last one to about 80% hp or once it starts to bleed a bit.
4. Once all the requirements are met it’s just a easy passive tame it’s omnivorous so it will eat meat or plants.
Happy taming
Ok, so y'all are saying it will be half the hight of a human......
How do you expect to ride it! For example the giga is barely bigger than a rex in real life but in ark it's twice the size. Which isn't a bad thing but with ARK it's go big or go home expect something the size of the eques if not bigger because how are you going to ride something that only comes to your waste. In other words
BE AFRAID OF DA MONKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We aren't a colt......
Yet.......
Thanks for reading.
How to tame, murder it's family beat the Dickens out of it (till about 85%) and shove meat down it throat and it be your. I guess it's a form of endearment.
