Here’s some tips for my fellow noobs!

You will encounter these guys. It’s impossible to not see them at least once in the few days after you start the game. If you’re like me and want to avoid them, listen. I mean literally. They make a sort of chittering noise, very different from dodos. Listening to the world around me has saved my butt too many times.

If you want to fight one, wait until you have an axe and have upped your health and damage some. They’re easy kills if you sprint at em from behind and spam the axe. If you see them flash their frill, get to the side. When they flash the frill it means they’re going to spit.

Similar strategy for taming, but instead of an axe use a club. Toss some raw meat into their inventory and keep some narco berries on hand juuuust in case. They tame very quick.

At high levels they are amazing defenders and distractors, though I’d use carbonemys for distracting. They’re also very moveable thanks to their size.

Annoying at first when you are low lvl, but after you tame one they become quite useful. My fave dino was Lord Of The Spit, a dilo. We went to the redwood forest. There we met a dire bear, me, knowing nothing about them, and it just wandering around peacefully eating berries, thought that it was friendly. What a mistake that was. R.I.P Lord Of The Spit. I WILL avenge him. All dire bears prepare. Once I complete my dilo army in honor of Spit, I will come for you and wipe you all out. And for the bear who killed Spit. I know how you look like, your level, your name, and where you are. Beware I am coming.

They do so well! Once I was building a house and a raptor killed me.My level 24 dilo killed it and waited.

If you're a noob in ark and dilos are chasing you, just run as fast and away as you could , and it will lose you, up⬆ if this was helpful

If about to get not unconscious punch it one time or feed it narcotics

Breed and Mutate a LOT, get loads of damage% (1500/2000+) , make an army, PUMP HEALTH, leave then on agressive and wander, with ALL of them following the stronger, put them with araneos and onycs and some arthros in a room.

Someone entered?:

Slow from dilos and araneos;

Vision debuff and DoT from dilos;

Torpor from araneos and arthros;

Bye bye armor from arthros;

Ans onycs for more damage.

Remember every creature as a use.

These have some properties that made them great as a first tame:

1. They are EVERYWHERE - you can get yourself a couple of these and no dino will be a match to you, except Theri, that thing will wreck all of you, recommend getting at least 10 to take it out.

2. They are easy to tame - if yours are being slaughtered, they can at least buy you time to run away and you can recruit some new ones right away.

3. They spit blinding poison - I think the poison affect all dino, even the big one, so not only it will weaken your enemy and make it more vulnerable, but in case they are not winning, you still have time to run away.

Personally, I keep a pack of lv 100+ Dilos that are my alpha squad. An easy and cheap way to take care of alpha raptors. My squad can take anything up to lv 90.

1:find a dilo

2:throw bolo

3:hit it with sling shot

4:feed it meat

If you're a Bob then have these boys around your base on turret mode and they'll look dope but also stand their ground and defend.

Easy tame if you can geta pack of 20 they are awesome

If it is a low level, you can probably knock it out with fists or a club and doge it’s poison. If it’s a higher level then you should bola it and hit it with a club. You may need some narcotics.

Killing these can drop a NERDY GLASSES SKIN at random

Ever get hit by Dilophosaurus spit? Easy fix. Simple way to avoid getting poisoned is by moving left to right. Not too much, not too little. Not too fast, not too slow. If that doesn’t work, simply run in circles while facing the dilo.

They're great for acting as bodyguards when you go to possibly dangerous areas, and for hunting since their spit slows animals down. Once I had 2 of mine attack a Carno while I shot at it, both survived and killed the carno.

When beginning the game with a little shack done always bring a dodo with you so whenever you encounter the dilo and it spits throw the dodo at it To activate dodo shield

In early game if you can't get plant X put these on your roof and fill their inventory up with stone so they can't move and you now have short range spit turrets

Great beginning tame, game achievement says get one but if you get three or four of these guys they are a very good protective and hunting force, highly recommend getting four of these early game. Just get them to charge, club em, and then raw meat for 2 minutes. Easy. Get three or four and you have a great battle team.

Get a club

Hit them until unconscious

Tame with raw meat from dodo
