Dilos are annoying and basically useless, but here’s a guide to tame them anyway!

1. You will need food for the dilo, easiest is raw meat, however it will take its effectiveness down quite a lot. I recommend using prime because it loses only one level and is easy to get. If you are a perfect tame snob, use kibble or mutton.

2. Fists can be used, however there is a risk of dying, so I recommend a slingshot. Clubs work, but are still risky, because it could bite you. If you can afford tranq arrows, they are quite good. Darts are a waste, just use arrows. No trap is needed because you can outrun them and the can’t kill you if you keep your distance

3. It is a quick tame, that doesn’t need narcs, so it’s usually best to just wait by it. Make sure you have enough food and that it won’t spoil before it tames

All these people talking about how to tame when you can just collect orphans and maybe give the babies the meat from their parents and BAM imprinted dilo :)

If you have a shield, it can be used to block the Dilo's ranged attacks.

For begginers:

Make a club

Beat dilo in his face

Put some meat into it's inventory

Repeat tillyou have 5-6 dilos.

Tada!! Now you have dilo army

As well as good meat and hide farm...just get them on hunting with you.

Very good tames and little guards for early game.

It's better to tame a male and female to produce eggs in order to make kibble for a dodicurus or an ankylo. Those are good for collecting stone or flint and metal.

I have 15 of these things, I call them the dodo crushers 🤣

When you go to tame one, make sure they aren't in a pack. They may not seem that intimidating, but in a small pack, they are very dangerous.

Tamed 4 in 10 minutes. 5 minutes later killed 3 Titan boas. These are a must have for beginners just tame loads and kill things like Titan boas and get great loot early in game. Must level health though it is terrible. Hope this helps.

The devs need to remodel this guy big time, it would be so cool if you could ride them, because real dilos were around twenty feet long and ten feet tall. I hope you enjoyed this tip

Don't bother with Tranq Arrows for these guys. They're easily knocked out with a club, and not a problem to keep knocked out with whatever narco berry's you can find.

Dilos are the best I have 4 dilos and I take them hunting with me. All I have to do is punch a dodo or a passive animal and they attack. I have a blood red one with green spikes that I call savage. I call her that because she is always first to attack and she always collects the loot from the animals. She saved me from 2angry dillos once. TWO! Get urself a dilo they are awsome! I love savage. I think I might change her name but savage is a realy great name for her 👁❤️🦖

I was in the jungle (second time playing) and I saw one staring from a cliff and I went behind it it hissed at me and I Mike Tysoned it in the face and it was now an unconscious lvl 18 or 19 Dilo and I gave it 14 random Nacroberries 39 random raw meat and boom I had a Dilo within 2 minutes :D

Dilos are actually very useful. If you are attacked by a Raptor or Sarco it will spit at them and make them walk slowly. And when a Dilo is attacking a creature the thing doesn’t even attack the Dilo! So they are very useful.

These may look like weak sauce but if they are in a group they can shred you to pieces. If you are to far for them to bite they will spit poison that blinds and damages you. They also come in a variety of vibrant and beautiful colours.

Don’t let it spit in your face especially if attacking multiple targets… tip for me 😅

Taming a dilo is pretty easy. and they are good at hunting they can slow down creatures and players and semi blind them for 5 sec and can be a good bodyguard in eary games
