They are easy to get on valguero in the aberration cave. There is a lot of them spawning in the shallow rivers. Just clear out the spinos and crabs. Then just stand next to the river and tranq it. Just be careful. In some of the rivers there's a lot of electric eels also

Sarco, scuba, narcs and Tranqs. Make some Lazarus and Fria if you have temperature issues.

EASY tame with kairuku kibble. Harder tame with meat because of torpidity draining fast.

Anglers will attack a bit, but sarco will soak while u tranq. A few hits and it runs away, sarco is faster though so just keep shooting till KO.

The angler

Temperament: agressive to player, not to other water mounts even if ridden by a player.

Diet: carnivore, so feed it kibble or mutton

Taming: to tame, ride an icthy or shark, and shoot from afar, be careful of eels and other sharks, and when it falls asleep, it still looks awake, so make sure to check you didn’t shoot too many at it and ruined the effectiveness. After you’ve knocked it out you need to protect it from other things, if an eel aggros you and accidentally hits it, it’s effectively useless as taming effectiveness is gone.

Uses: the angler is a NEED for pearl farming, you can get over 5k easily, but watch out for ammonites and make sure to bring a mosa or shark to protect yourself

Best map I’ve found to tame these so far is Valguero:

Just go to the bio / aberration cave, and there’s a shallow river with tons of them there, you can even use tranq darts while standing out of the water.

Just be careful to bring tons of narcotics for it, and a fairly strong mount to clear and guard the place, it’s full of karkinos and spinos

I would recommend taming a Basilosaurus first because they are not affected by shocks from eels and easy way to get bio toxin then you can scout one out. Best bet use harpoon gun with tranq spears to not kill. Spend a little time on icebergs gathering kairuku eggs and your all set.

Very long tame took forever but worth it

These guys are a nightmare to tame on mobile.They have too much topor,their torpor runs fast and prime meat(the best food besides kibble) doesn’t even tame it fast so pls have soothing balm or kibbles

Most likely gonna have too give it more narcotics than actually listed if higher level. Calculator not as accurate for this one

The best place to tame them is on Eldritch Isles in crystal isles, they spawn inside those water bubbles making it easy to shoot darts or even shocking tranq darts on them from the outside of the bubbles. Watch out for the piranas there because once tamed they will just eat your newly tamed Angler.

Bring a crossbow, so you can shoot underwater.

Easiest way.

Use a high damage crossbow to avoid accidently killing the angler. If you dont have such a crossbow its highly advised to use tranq darts: however you need to lure the angler into a water cave and shooting it within as longneck rifles cant be use in water. Good luck

Use an acd crossbow as soon as you hit it, it will run follow it until attacks again that's the trick on not killing them

Everyone’s making it hard on themselves tame them in the blue sone river on abb that way you don’t have to go in the deep dark ocean to get them:) plus there body glows in the dark as well:) hope this helps:)

This update is amazing they gather pearls by the hundreds a must have for small tribes makes turrets easier for them to obtain

When taming use a net gun to immobilize the angler then use the highest dealing torpor weapon possible. Make sure you hit it consecutively else it will lose its torpor quick.

If looking in Val check out ab zone rivers. Super easy to tame there. Don't need scuba gear just munch all sarcos in area first.
