Too bad they are slightly less common than electrophoruses, but to find one just go to the bottom of the ocean you will find loads. Then start tranqing one if your mount allows you to equip weapons, (really only ichthy) if it stops mid swim and its head slouches slightly down that means it is knocked out. You can then feed it meat to tame it, while keeping in mind that the ko'ed anglerfish you are looking at will stay deep below the ocean until it is tamed, so if you don't have a scuba tank quickly resurface for oxygen right after you ko the angler, then swim back down to check on it every once in a while. If you swim back to it and it's tamed, you can whistle follow and it will follow you back to the surface really quickly.

Be really care when knocking these things out from a distance! Unfortunately they don't look knocked out when they are so continuing to shoot darts at them can be an easy an unfortunate mistake to make.

-then go to the Deep sea and kill the rest of the creatures That you're surronding (except the Anglerfish)

-after you find it, Knock it then Feed it with prime meat or kibble and in case some biotoxin.

Utility: the Anglerfish doesn't need a Saddle, you can ride freely but it will be more vulnerable to attacks.

The Anglerfish can harvest tons of Pearls and a bit of Blackpearl and it's good for going to caves for a better view and has decent damage.

Pro tip! Anglerfish can be caught in a fish basket!

Can be used to pick up 60ish pearls instead of 6 or so by hand. Awesome tame now since the update added this.

The anglerfish is a predatory and aggressive fish that lives on the bottom of the water. Its bulb emits a weak light, which attracts other anglers. It's small and has low health, so it's easy to kill it with any underwater creature. (However, without a tamed underwater creature, it can be problematic.)

There are two types of anglerfish:

Normal anglerfish

Aberrant anglerfish (found on the Aberration map)

- How to tame it? -

Since the anglerfish lives in the depths, it can only be knocked out with a crossbow equipped with tranq arrows. For an easy stun, you can bring along an underwater creature with high health and set it to passive. While the anglerfish is biting your creature, you gradually stun it (slowly, because if you shoot at it too often, you can accidentally kill it). After stunning it, place mutton in its inventory (or feed it if you have it) and wait for it to tame. I recommend taking plenty of drugs, as the stun fades quickly.

- Usefulness -

The anglerfish is an excellent pearl gatherer. Although it's small, you can craft a saddle and ride it in the water. The anglerfish collects 5★ worth of pearls, making it an excellent source of this resource, essential for crafting many items. It also has a lamp that can be used to attract other anglers and farm anglerfish gel. It's not ideal for traveling, so use it for pearl gathering. (You can also ride an anglerfish without a saddle, which makes resource consumption easier.)

- Main use for this tame is using the Angler as a "lure" for other anglers kill anglers for their gel. The gel is the longest burning fuel in the game at approx. 6 minutes per 1 gel

- secondly use is a light source underwater

DO NOT use a crossbow for knocking out! Not for all shots anyway.

Use half to 60% of what Dododex recommends for crossbow, then finish the rest with harpoon tranq to avoid killing these guys.

I feel like Dododex is way off with their approximation of a 19% chance of death with a crossbow tranq. I'd say it's more of a 80%+ chance you will kill these with tranq only.
