~{Dwellings}~ chapter 5

And the ceiling of the den ripped open.

Nova and Destiny froze in fear, a dark green Head was staring down into the hole that was once the cave like den, the creature had two horns protruding out of its head right above its small eyes, it’s hide was scaly and bumpy, it’s hind legs were muscled and large, where it’s front arms, incredibly small and weak. The creature stared for a moment longer before roaring loudly and snapping at Destiny, but Destiny was already running for the tunnel, and he felt the creatures hot breath on his back as it missed its bite, Destiny looked back in horror to see nova had not moved and was clutching the artifact tightly. “Nova Run!!” With one glance at the creature nova bolted at last, the horned creature quickly turned their attention to nova and snapped at her biting her tail, nova screamed in agony as the creature tore off her tail and swallowed it. “Nova!” Destiny ran out to where nova was crouched “D-D-“ nova had dropped the artifact and was squeezing the small nub that was once a long tail. “Nova we have to get out-“ he cut off as the creatures head lunged at him, he squeezed his eyes shut and curled into a ball, prepared for the worst, but nothing happened. Am I already Dead? He thought, he slowly opened his eyes to see the creature was grappling with another, smaller scaled creature, he didn’t wait to find out what it was that saved them, he didn’t even know if it saved them on purpose. “Nova.. we have to go.” He turned to her, still grasping what was once her tail, blood pooled at her feet, and nova collapsed, “Nova!!” but she was unconscious, he could hear the two creatures fighting in the distance farther away, We can’t say here! Destiny thought, he grabbed nova tight and started to drag her out of the den, a trail of blood being left behind them, Destiny kept dragging, and dragging, having to duck into a bush whenever something came his way, until finally he came across a redwood stump with a small hole barely big enough for his head, it had moss covering most of the rim and the ground had a small stream running trough it connected to the large lake in the redwoods, and he started to dig, widening the hole more and more until he heard a roar in the distance, sounding like the creature that had attacked them, he quickly squeezed inside the redwood and dragged nova in after him, it’s going to be able to follow the trail of blood. He thought grimly, but this hole is too small for it.. right? But Destiny couldn’t shake the feeling that danger was in the forest, and it was looking for them. “What do I Do? What have I done? I shouldn’t have dragged nova out here with me! Why did I do this?!” Destiny cried and moaned, “do not doubt yourself.. You are meant to be here.” A voice echoed through the hollow tree, not mortal, not god, but an entirely different being was calling to Destiny “who- what?” Destiny looked around frantically, but no answer came, “was it in my head? I must be going insane!” He said to himself, he curled up next to nova, and started to cry.

Darkness surrounded nova, she was flouting in the void with nobody but herself and the nothingness, everything, gone, it was all dark, “Hello?” Novas whisper echoed unnaturally.

“Find the light at the end of your tunnel.” Echoed a voice, not coming from any one direction. She didn’t respond with words but instead started to look around slowly, she felt calm, like this was fine, and normal, nothing about it was unnatural at all, In the distance nova saw a small light, “the light at the end of my tunnel?”

- BoXXy. Betcha didn’t expect that! Just so ya know, I’m altering between Destiny’s view on the story and Novas view from now on, so it’s not about just one of them. the story I’ve got planned should work with that, (when I plan It’s like a rough sketch, and I’ll refine and add onto the story or change parts when I actually write it, it helps me not lose track of my story, or make a part of the story and not know where to go from there.) hope you enjoyed! I stayed up real late writing this so it better be long enough for you! I know you guys expected that nova would start her search for the artifacts and stuff in this chapter and I was going to try to fit this in here but Im not an adult and between ark and chores I think I got a good amount of story crammed in this chapter, but I promise she’ll get there, just go with me okay?
