Stories Tips

What are some stories about the achatina? Memorable achatina stories, wild encounters, and fan fiction.
What’s up guys! SunnyFox told me about all you guys talking about stories and stuff over here so I figured I would come check it out. Super cool to see you guys all helping each other out. I don’t write a lot anymore, (although I have considered picking up my story again), but I would love to read your guys’ stories and give any advice if you want.
TO: Break-it, and GitezGood
FROM: Ben
Before I start, please make sure to check out the D0d0dex Stories website. You can search it up on a web browser and going to it will allow you to see Story tips faster than you would on the app. Make sure once you visit the website you refresh the page, change the filter to Newest, and filter creatures to whatever you desire. It will make communication easier.
Hello Break-it and GitezGood, I’m a representative of the Crossover Council (the thing that is responsible for creating The Omega Timeline / TOT). For some information, The Omega Timeline is a crossover collaborative story between seven authors.
Here they are in the order they joined the collab:
Ben (the founder of TOT, author of The Arks: Over Heaven),
SunnyFox57 (author of The Riddles of the Phoenixes series),
Wyvernian (author of Pandora Chronicles series),
PrimalApex (director of TOT, author of Ultimus and non-canon sequel to The Obelisk, Journey),
MrGhostGamer (author of Hope’s Cry),
Sylveevee (author of Queen of Aberration),
and Moon (founder of Achatina Community and author of The Obelisk).
The story is about characters from each of our stories entering a rift within the DDEX space time continuum called the titular Omega Timeline. As the characters meet and interact, shenanigans occur, and problems start brewing between them. At the moment, heroes and villains from all respective stories are in an all-out war. However, there are many story arcs that will occur that dive deeper into other stuff. Some of the things planned are a Zombie Apocalypse story arc, which is planned to happen after the Heroes VS Villains arc, and an Omega Rockwell story arc, which is planned to happen after the aforementioned Zombie Apocalypse arc.
Anyway that’s what it’s about, if you didn’t know. How the collaboration works is one person writes a chapter, then it goes onto the next person, and then the next and the next and it cycles back to the first person. The order of the writing goes based on who joined.
So that means I would write Chapter 1, then Sunny would write Chapter 2, Wyvernian Chapter 3, and so on and so forth.
OK, so we’ve seen your requests to join The Omega Timeline.
So here are the results:
Break-it, you have been granted access to join the Crossover Council and participate in writing The Omega Timeline. You have met all the requirements to join and we are happy to see your work on this project. It will be interesting seeing characters from SOR mingle with other franchise’s characters, especially Rockwell from Hope’s Cry. As the 8th member of the Crossover Council, you will write your chapters after Moon. Try to write your chapters in a fast manner. Your average writing pace is 500 words per chapter (really good by the way). I’m not sure if you use phone or a computer to type but that should equate to around half a week time to finish. Don’t stress out about it though. It takes around two weeks before it cycles back to you. Anyway, you’ll get to write your first chapter of TOT after the Heroes VS Villains arc and once the Zombie Apocalypse arc starts. We’ll give you more information and tell you when you’re good to go once we plan more of it out. Our discussions are on Fandom but we still give info to DDEX CC members. Welcome aboard! Before you leave go to the bottom of this message to check out a questionnaire we have for all joining CC members.
GitezGood, unfortunately, you cannot join the Crossover Council just yet. However this does not mean you are barred permanently. You do not meet the requirements to join just yet. Requirements will be down below this section. Once you reach the requirements you will be allowed to join (probably when the Zombie Apoc arc is).
Here are the requirements:
Your story needs to be at least 3,000 words.
Your characters must have depth or personality.
You must have a consistent writing schedule.
You need to have contributed to Achatina community. This can be feedback on others’ stories and talking. I specifically suggest the former because it proves that you are willing to get to know others and learn about others’ stories rather than just showcase and advertise your own story.
Crossover Council must approve of the person.
You meet condition 5 but you must reach the other conditions…
Your story “The Fleet of Fate” is at 1215 words at the moment. That means you are around 40.5% of the way to your goal. Each of your chapters are around 150 words long. That means youd have to write around 12 more chapters before reaching that goal of 3000. Obviously you can make your chapters longer to reach your goal quicker.
Your writing schedule at the moment seems pretty inconsistent. This condition is put in place only to avoid writers taking forever for their TOT chapter… but if you become more active than youl will meet this condition.
Condition 4 just talk some more contribute more as said.
Finally, Condition 2 is probably the hardest to reach. I don’t want to hurt your feelings but your characters don’t seem to have much depth to them. They are only characterized by their roles / species in the Wyvern world but they only seem to be there to drive the plot. I understand you are new to this but that is why we are here to help you develop and improve your story. Your grammar is good and it’s easy to read however I believe your story could benefit from some character depth and personality (which is what define’s a story’s success). You could explore characters’ inner motivations, morals, ideals, and their beliefs and feelings of one another. Try creating some concepts for your characters and the aforementioned traits. It really helps and will give your characters a lot more spark. You can also explore their personalities with dialogue. I think your story would really benefit from dialogue between characters that don’t necessarily drive the plot. You could have a chapter dedicated to two wyverns talking about their feelings of everything going on.
Anyway that’s all I have. I hope to see you around soon! As you work toward reaching the requirements to join you can also read some of the stories involved in TOT to get a brief understanding of how each of the characters act and the basic plots.
Here are the stories you should read and where they are found:
The Riddles of the Phoenixes (Series) - the first story is called The Terrible Demise of Tortuga it is found in the All ABC filter and starts in Allosaurus. The rest of the stories following it just continue off of it. The rest of the series’ stories are (abbrieviated): Shadow Phoenixes, House of Madness, Dark Phoenixes, War of the Phoenixes, and The Lost World. This series is the second longest series/story to ever exist on the DDEX but pretty fun…
Pandora Chronicles (Series) - the first story is called Heroes of Pandora it is also found in the All ABC filter and starts in Allosaurus. The rest of the stories following it just continue off ot it. The rest of the series’ stories are (abbrievated): Protectors, and Legends. It’s the third longest series on the DDEX.
Ultimus - this story is found in the Aquatics filter ABC but backwards (so start in Tuso). The story length is medium and there aren’t many chapters but still very very good quality. This is an amazing first read.
Hope’s Cry - this story is found in the All ABC filter (excluding bosses) and is the shortest story out of all the CC stories. I highly consider this being one of your first reads as it is only around 25 chapters long.
Queen of Aberration - this story is found exclusively in Shinehorn, however the first chapter is in Basilisk. This is also a medium length story, around the same length as Ultimus. This could be your third read due to its complicated nature.
The Obelisk - This story is found in the Tamables ABC filter. You may have heard of this story before… it is very popular amongst DDEX readers. It’s a pretty long read. Fourth longest story on the DDEX.
Journey - This story is found in the All ABC filter but backwards. It is a non-canon sequel to The Obelisk and should be read after the mentioned story.
Pandora - This story is found in the Breedables ABC filter, and starts in Amargasaurus. It is a prequel to The Obelisk, and is still in the early beginning stages.
Clans - This story is found in the Ridables ABC filter. It is a connected story to The Obelisk and is it its very very early beginning stages.
The Arks: Over Heaven - Yeah pretty much the final boss of stories (i can say that right guys?). Longest story on the DDEX, perhaps of all ARK fanfic ever. I suggest reading this last out of all the other stories. It’s found in the Aerial filter ABC but backwards. Prologue and Chapter 1 are both in Wyvern.
Oh yeah, also, from what your message suggests, you read Chapter 1 of TOT but not the Prologue. Make sure to always check if there are Prologue’s for stories. They are basically Chapter 0’s.
That’s all. Seeya soon GitezGood!
~
Ok this is for Break-it:
Which characters will join. Please have 3-5 only. No more than 5 plz
When will they join in their story. Which version is it, Chapter 3 or Chapter 9 etc
Please give brief character personality and facts on your cast thats joining so that those who arent caught up can know.
And while you wait for TOT to catch up to the Zombie Apoc arc you can get yourself caught up with others’ stories and work on your own. Well, seeya!
Break-it and GitezGood (definitely spelled that wrong..) your requests to join the crossover counsel must be discussed between the counsel. Gitez, you may be a little new to be trusted in the CC, but we shall see, even if not you can eventually if you keep it up. Even if either of you get accepted it would be for the next story arc, since this one is coming to a close and new characters would be weird at this point. Also if you want in you gotta read the entirety of TOT and have at least a basic understanding of all the writers stories.
Best wishes —Wyvernian (lol, fancy sing-off)
From Ben
Hello everyone. I have decided to leave The Omega Timeline. I will no longer be working on it and the new ‘director’ will be PrimalApex. Yes I was the director, I was the one who came up with the idea and brought everyone together to do it. Good luck without me, you’re going to need it without me.
There are a variety of reasons why I chose to leave this collaborative project. I have had these feelings for the past few days or so now. Mostly after reading Chapter 49.
Article I: Effort & Time
The Omega Timeline is a daunting project in my opinion. While ambition is good for many projects I personally did not enjoy some of the ideas presented to the table. They felt like cheap plot devices to milk the udders of this crossover project. Some examples include the “Reversal of Fate” idea (which I insisted should be a spin off HOWEVER my wishes were disregarded), the Body Swap idea, and I even did not like the Zombie Apocalypse idea that much. One of the ideas were that The Omega Timeline’s conflicts were caused by the characters inside however these previous examples are clear cut cases of overall poor writing and they are just cheap plot devices in my opinion. I especially did not enjoy the whole “writer voices” thing (which once again my opinion on the topic was disregarded and I was told to just put a writer voice of my own in the story). To me, it was a cheap way to change the plot. ESPECIALLY with reviving Aurora out of nowhere. And also Drain becoming the Herald of Darkness ONLY because the voices told him to do so. One of the core ideas of The Omega Timeline is that it was a “single timeline that could only be accessed by pure chance” and it is unknown how it was created BECAUSE it would create a fair writing environment for everyone. Clearly this is not the case. Now before one of you start going on about “ermm well you included Ben as a character how could that not be a self-insert” first of all this Ben isn’t even like me and second of all I guess I can’t put my name in a story now because it’s my name like jee whiz that’s amazing like I bet you that if Moon put her real name in a story or Sunny y’all wouldn’t care because YOU DONT KNOW THEIR NAMES. Case closed I can use my name however I like.
Article II: TAOH Character Screen Time
In the first ten chapters of TOT, all of my characters show up pretty frequently. This makes sense since there were only around three writers at the time. Me, Sunny, and Wyvernian. However once everyone else started to join my characters showed up a lot less often. To begin I don’t think MrGhostGamer has even written about anyone else’s characters except his own and Wyvernian’s in that one chapter. Sylveevee has only mentioned Samuel in her chapters. And so on and so forth. The only people who have included my characters consistently are Sunny and PrimalApex (i can’t say for Moon because she just joined however she did use my characters in her first chapter). The point is that my characters don’t show up as often as I want them too. Especially characters such as Neddy and Ruby. It is also somewhat insulting as I try my best to give all characters from each story equal screen time that way everyone has something to look forward to when reading the chapter.
I will be creating a graph which illustrates how often my characters are mentioned in other peoples’ chapters just to prove how underused they are.
Article III: Misuse of TAOH Characters
Don’t even get me started on this one. This one is mostly going to be talking about Chapter 42 (which I consider to be a dumpster fire of a chapter by the way). PrimalApex and Sunny have done excellent work at using my characters correctly and accurately, two which I commend for that. However I’m not so sure about everyone else (MrGhostGamer and Sylveevee don’t even use them, Moon has joined too early for me to decide however Neddy’s dialogue was accurate to his TAOH self). First of all I explicitly state all information about my characters regarding certain topics, one of them being how they viewed Samuel. So it is absolutely despicable that Star was used the way she was in Chapter 42 of TAOH. First of all, it was very clear from the get go IN CHAPTER 40 that Star was absolutely hopeless. She was curled up in a ball and seemingly had no desire to do anything or go anywhere. Yet for some reason in Chapter 42 she gets teleported to the Black Obelisk to deal with Samuel? First of all, this makes no sense because of previous statements. And second of all, she’s a dodo bird why in the WORLD would Jay, Jack, and the others consider bringing her in to help fight off Samuel. They would consider bringing in a trusted adult. To me it was extremely obvious the intent of this chapter was to throw shade at Samuel (a very pathetic attempt by the way), and to make him start crying (which is also extremely out of character by the way). The only reason I refrained from even speaking about this is because I didn’t want Wyvernian to rewrite the chapter and waste any more of our time. This is perhaps the most disrespectful thing that has occurred to me and it’s especially shameful considering I have not mistreated ANYONE’s characters in TOT so far.
Article IV: Poor Communication Between Some Members
This Article also ties in with the previous one, somewhat. Misuse of my characters has occurred because of this. One example is Jerry. For some reason asking me on my Message Wall on a more in depth explanation of his blood bending was too difficult and now he was battling people in a crude unorthodox and frankly inefficient way which was completely out of character. This once again is disrespect on my characters. Jerry is a vicious, ferocious fighter who hates beating around the bush. Using others as a puppet would go against his ideals of strong and weak. Jerry also just won’t stand around and get frozen by Sheeri that easily. And if Jerry can puppet whoever he wants why doesn’t he just puppet all the heroes that come at him? Make it make sense if we’re going to go forward with this goofily made fight. This is just poor fight writing in general. At least make the fight somewhat memorable and respectful toward the characters. This is just one of the examples of one of my characters being misused because of poor communication. This is also occurred to other writers before as well, although I won’t list the examples now because I don’t feel like it.
Article V: Sylveevee
To be blunt I am not a fan of Sylveevee’s characters. They are difficult to write and their overpowered nature put them at an unfair advantage compared to the rest of the cast, especially mine (who have no notable abilities in terms of the heroes). This is honestly one of the reasons I don’t care about the children. Quite frankly every single character has some overpowered ability that magically pops up for the convenience of the plot and story. For instance, Milo. Milo was explicitly stated in Queen of Aberration that his shapeshifting abilities came from his implant. After Samuel destroyed his implant, now Milo magically still has it because apparently it was in his bloodstream all along and he THOUGHT that it was his implant power. Another instance of this is Skyocean. Not only is Skyocean’s ability never explored in Queen of Aberration, but his shapeshifting into other humans also gives him their powers??? Finally, I would like to go over the original character herself Queen Sylveevee, and her ability to summon “elemental” balls. She has only used this ability ONCE in Queen of Aberration and suddenly now it’s explored… Clearly these characters are given overpowered abilities so that they could easily overpower other characters from other franchises (more specifically the evil ones) and have that dopamine rush of “oh my character’s stronger and better”. These overpowered characters actually influenced some of the characters I brought in for TOT. For a long time I considered bringing in Mr. Ma and Loki. I thought it would have been amazing having their morals intertwine with others, but I settled with Jerry and June because they were the only counters to Sylveevee’s characters. Most of you may believe that it was unnecessary to go down this decision, however I really had no other choice since the main heroes have no notable abilities. I don’t want to feel a rush of having stronger characters than others, I just want to make an interesting story that deals with the twisting morals and ideologies of characters bashing and mixing in with one another. Not a contest to see who’s the stronger one.
I can also go over the fact that some of my story elements are blatantly placed in Queen of Aberration but I will not go over that now because that is not relevant to the current topic. I am generally very tolerant of others taking inspiration from my stories as long as it builds upon or adds on it but if it’s blatantly copying and not adding anything to it I will not be afraid to defame you.
Article VI: Direction of the Story
The direction of the story has taken a turn for the worse. Rather than dive into the “What If”s of how characters would meet and react to one another, it has just delved into a giant ‘war’ between heroes and villains, and other inconvenient poorly thought out plot devices. PrimalApex has done an amazing job at some of these “What If”s and I suppose Sunny and Sylveevee too with the Aragorn-Sylveevee conflict, but I’m not too sure about everyone else. The original point of The Omega Timeline was that it was a party place for characters to meet and interact with one another. The conflict would be some of the conflicting ideals that characters would harbor, or villainous characters wishing to cause mayhem. But for some reason the White and Black Obelisk got introduced and plot convenience after another has been introduced. The direction of the story has taken a turn for violence and fighting between one’s characters rather than meaningful interactions and plot points.
One plot point I really enjoyed was Chapter 24 by PrimalApex. The conversation between Andrew, Erica, and Ruby about the implants was REALLY good and an excellent example of what The Omega Timeline should have been about. Another one is Chapter 15 by what do you guess ME, where Samuel and Aragorn talk about working together to return home for the sake of their loved ones.
Article VII: Conclusion
In conclusion, I’ve become a slave to The Omega Timeline. I get nothing in return and I’ve contributed too much for me to consider this a project I love. There’s no chance I’m going to return to this project. There’s no convincing me otherwise. So don’t bother trying. I don’t care if any of you say “oh don’t worry we’ll try our best to change”, that never works out. I’m appointing @PrimalApex as the new Crossover Council leader. Now I’ve tried my best to give you all the freedom to write whatever you want for your chapters, but since that clearly doesn’t work out I’m giving him the ability to work out the plot for the rest of The Omega Timeline since he knows what he’s doing best. I trust that he will carry out my vision. If he sees it fit he can change the vision. I can even see him potentially leaving TOT next after me. He’s put in the most effort and most of his hero characters also get sidelined for no reason at all. Anyway, since I was pretty much the backbone of TOT I predict that The Omega Timeline will collapse and will fail to be a thing in the foreseeable future. I’ve given all my advice to ensure it stays as neutral with its writers as possible but without me I see that difficult to achieve. Goodbye, The Omega Timeline. It’s time for me to work on something actually meaningful.
Side note: just have all my characters magically disappear off the face of the Omega Timeline. It fits with the convenient plot devices anyway so there's no point in trying to make up something. Reminder since some of you might have even forgotten my characters (which is even more pathetic)
Samuel
Aurora
Neddy
Ruby
Star
June
Jerry
Lil Jack
TOT Ben
Paul the Bartender will stay, however the TAOH version will not be a part of the fusion anymore.
If I catch any of you using my characters in The Omega Timeline without my permission I will nuke that chapter down into the ground and also a chapter from one of your stories of my choosing.
The Red Pike
Red’s Story, part 7
Red and the other creatures had fled, due to them being wounded and not ready to fight again.
“Maybe we should head towards the arctic waters?” Suggested one of the sharks.
“No, it is too cold there, and we might even freeze to death there.” Bruce said. He had used kelp as a bandage, and it worked decently well, so everyone else had used kelp for the same purpose.
“Our only objective here is to survive, then kill the humans. Isn’t that the entire reason we formed an army?” Red said.
“That would be the reason, but we have another enemy who wants us dead. The humans may have scuba gear to allow them to breath longer and survive down in the ocean for a bit. If we see that, we should kill them.” Bruce said.
“Then we should heal, destroy our enemies in the ocean, then kill those evil humans!” Red suggested.
“It seems like a good plan” a mosasaurus said. Eventually, everyone came to agree to the plan.
“So now, we traverse the ocean until ready for battle, and then we will strike, but first we must find where they lurk.” Red said. And then, they started to traverse the huge ocean.
The Red Pike
Nerva’s story part nine
By Red Dragon
Nerva looked down at his Argentavis. “I had it under control.” He said, jokingly. “Thank you for helping me. That pegomastax would have been little more than a nuisance if I had not let myself get slashed across the chest.” He noticed Tyra wasn’t flying correctly. He saw a slash across her wing. Walker must have got her as they were flying away. “No, stop, I can call in a Quetzalcoatlus.” When they arrived back at the base, Nerva’s lieutenant approached. “S-sir, are you alright?” “Do I look alright? I was slashed across the chest and eye!” When Nerva was mostly healed up, he went into the planning room with his generals. “How do we beat them? They have been amassing an army of beasts.” One of his generals said. “Well, you know how we all speak different languages, but the Ark translates them to something we can understand? Goliath has shown intelligence, so maybe the Ark can translate to something he can understand and we can reason with him.” “Sir, with all due respect, that’s a bit of a long shot.” “I know, but desperate times call for desperate measures.”
Walker's Story Part Seven
The Red Pike
By Jedi
Christopher sat carving a bow, leaning on the side of the house. He had a crossbow, but he was bored and he figured this was the best way to pass the time. Siyu walked by, his own bow in his hands and a quiver filled with tranque arrows slung over his shoulder. " Where are you going?" Asked Christopher. " I promised Dijiao(sorry for misspelling.) I wouldn't make her fight again. But I still need creatures to fight with. I will tame some." " I'll come with you. It's not like I have anything better to do." They went to find some creatures then. They tamed a pack of raptors, some doedircus, a few allosaurs, two Argys, and even a rex when it came. A huge beast came crashing upon them. " The Demon King!" Siyu yelled. " What?"
" The Demon King! It's a beast that roams the forest, with glowing yellow eyes!" Christopher knew that what he thought was a Demon King was just a Giga, but he decided that now wasn't the best time too discuss it. Christopher simply loaded his crossbow, and began to shoot. After on hour, it lay uncoincuss at their feet. They have it some meat, and it tamed. " I want you to understand," Siyu said " We will only use this monster in emergencies. If it gets mad, it will destroy all in its path." They went back to the house and made fences for all their me dinos. This was their first adventure. The first, or many to come.
Ok, I spent minor if it's just me, but the box seems bigger. And longer. I haven't even seen a hint of the word bar. What's going on? Is this an update? Idk. Weird. I hope I did a good job of portraying your character CL1.

Walker's Story
Chapter Six
By Jedi
Christopher ignored the pain that shot through his body. He found another document talking about someone named Li. A few more documents and he learned that it was the same Lei from th page of Helena's journal. Some more research and he found out that she had a son on the island, and she has disappeared with Helena. He decided to look for him. A few days later he found the site of a battle. A few dead carnos pay there, along with a few soldiers. He moved on. A few more days and he found a house. When he entered he found a man that looked like a beggar almost and a monkey, which was darting and grinning around the house, getting food items for the man. It looked at him and began to shreik. He collapsed on the deck, watching as the beggar ran towards him, and his vision faded. When he woke up, the man was sitting in front of a cooking pot making some kind off stew. "Is this the house of Siyu Li?" " Yes, it is. He's not home, but your welcome to stay."
