SADDLES
Raptor Saddle
Tips & Strategies from the iOS & Android apps
This dino is fast, like very fast, and deals a decent amount of damage for how easily it is to get. They do have a poor weight stat, so make sure to store heavier minerals in another tame or storage. Saddle at engram level 18 means its one of the earliest tamed you can really get, cannot go wrong with the raptor.
A really funny thing you can do with alpha raptors is to get a rhynio, lure an alpha raptor to the beach, and get it to swim after you in the ocean. If it loses interest and becomes passive, then get close to it and dismount on your rhynio and it should start swimming after you again. Then when it gets too close you can fly some distance away, dismount, and it will start chasing you again. Do this a few dozen times and you can trick the alpha raptor into swimming to herbivore island or any other crazy location since alphas can't drown.
You can also leave the alpha raptor at sea then fly away from it until it disappears in your render distance and forget about it since it will never despawn, drown, or even move so you can go to it later to kill it.
Bonus tip: if you dismount on your rhynio, your rhynio will automatically start regenerating stamina in the air after 5 seconds.
A really funny thing you can do with alpha raptors is to lure one to a bronto using an argy or other strong flyer, make it deal like a few hundred damage to it, then fly away and get some popcorn as you watch the bronto try to attack the alpha raptor while the alpha raptor is minding its own business wandering or killing another dino. The more damage the bronto takes the longer it will attempt to attack the alpha raptor.
This happens because raptors don't attack brontos, and wild brontos can't damage alpha raptors.
If you see a raptor that has an orange glow around its chest, then it means that raptor is... AN ALPHA! ...in its pack which means that it is a high level, probably mate boosted, does more damage, and that there are probably more raptors near you.
Note this when trying to find high level raptors as you wanna target the one with an orange aura near its chest as it has the highest level in the local area.
And to the people who are playing old ark mobile, ignore everything that I said, as this feature only exists for allosauruses on old ark mobile.
Fun fact: alpha creatures can't harvest corpses to heal themselves or be damaged by wild animals, so only tames can kill alphas.
You would think that you could hide near a brontos legs when you are being chased by an alpha raptor or carno, but this is a bad idea since you will automatically take stomping damage once the bronto gets mad at the alpha raptor or carno, and the alpha raptor or carno will continue to chase you since it has no reason to go after the bronto since wild brontos cant damage alphas.
People really are writing tips about running from alpha raptors when you can get killed in 3 bites or less if youre not riding a mount and they can outrun any land creature. That's funny cause any mount thats not smaller than a carno can kill an alpha raptor, including trikes.
Here is a easy way to tame this creature
1. Get a few bolas (just in case you miss or a there’s a pack)
2. Get meat
3. Find and bola raptor
4. Knock out with club/fists
5. Put meat in inventory
Boom! now you have a raptor!
Step 1= Bola raptor or climb on high rock
Step 2= Tranq out (recommend tranq arrows etc)
Step 3= make sure not other baddies in area
Step 4= wait for the hunger to go about half way down
Step 5= after waiting give raw meat, mutton, prime, kibble etc

The Raptor is a well-rounded and easy-to-tame dinosaur. Its high speed and ability to defend itself make it very useful for travel, especially for newer survivors. While the raptor has a lower torpor tolerance, its speed can often make it difficult to target.
