What are tips for raptor? Tips and strategies for raptor in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
How to tame a raptor early game and late game, as well as other tips and tricks.
Early game:
1. Have a bola and slingshot/club, you will need to be around level 9+.
2. Find a raptor, they usually spawn in beaches and forests with small creatures.
3. Go in front of it and wait till it runs after you, then bola it.
4. Start smacking it with a club, or personally humbling it with a slingshot.
5. Once it’s down then shove down around 20 meat in their throat, or more depending on its level.
6. Enjoy!!
Late/Mid game:
1. Have a bear trap or bola, with tranq arrows and a crossbow/bow.
2. Find a raptor (same areas)
3. Place a bear trap, and make it chase after you, and let it go to the bear trap. You can also use same bola technique as early game.
4. Tranq it out, but be careful since raptors have low health.
5. Shove around 20 prime meat or kibble down their throat, more or less depending on level.
6. Enjoy!
Some tips, tricks, and info.
The raptor’s strengths are speed and damage, however, they usually have low stamina and low health. They have a pinning ability that works on things like humans and smaller. When you tame a raptor, I recommend getting 3+ if you want to become unstoppable, they get a buff in packs. The highest level will always be the pack leader. These guys are unstoppable once you get a pack with good levels.
ATTENTION!: I heavily recommend being level 9+ and having 8+ bolas in hand. Be extremely careful using slingshot on high levels, as it’s likely to kill them.
Trap: Make a 2x2 wood foundation and walls, and keep a doorway without the door. Then add a wall over the door, and ramps the opposite way. Get the raptor’s attention and start running, then go out the door, and you can trap the raptors, however I would not recommend a trap unless you’re taming a pack of 3 or maybe more.
- They like parasaur kibble
- Their saddle is unlocked at level 18
- They are considered early game, so late or mid game players should tame stronger creatures.
I hope this helps!! - SaraCuteHearts (please ignore the name, I chose it when I was 9 but it’s too iconic to change)

Step 1= Bola raptor or climb on high rock
Step 2= Tranq out (recommend tranq arrows etc)
Step 3= make sure not other baddies in area
Step 4= wait for the hunger to go about half way down

They cost 24-48 amber to revive, the 2nd highest revive cost for a wild creature and the same as a giga so it's not really that worth it if you wanna tame an eerie raptor.
A really funny thing you can do with alpha raptors is to get a rhynio, lure an alpha raptor to the beach, and get it to swim after you in the ocean. If it loses interest and becomes passive, then get close to it and dismount on your rhynio and it should start swimming after you again. Then when it gets too close you can fly some distance away, dismount, and it will start chasing you again. Do this a few dozen times and you can trick the alpha raptor into swimming to herbivore island or any other crazy location since alphas can't drown.
You can also leave the alpha raptor at sea then fly away from it until it disappears in your render distance and forget about it since it will never despawn, drown, or even move so you can go to it later to kill it.
Bonus tip: if you dismount on your rhynio, your rhynio will automatically start regenerating stamina in the air after 5 seconds.
These are Arks thugs .. they don't care what you are doing whether it be minding your business or if your just looking to pet a dodo. They will come and they will kill you and your dodo.. Run as far as possible swim as far .carry a bola on you so you trap your friend and escape . @chief3alpha xbox
Tame a few 150's, breed them, and you'll be Chris Pratt in no time.

In a recent PC (and very soon to console) update these little jerks can now pounce on you...and they WILL. Every. Damn. Time. They knock you off mounts and on you to the ground while they gnaw on your bones...mocking you. They’ve knocked me off an argy and therozinos several times. They’re much more deadly now. PS...alpha raptors ALSO do this.
I’m on console and so far I have tamed a carno, baryonx, bronto and a peranadon(I’m a nub) but I have not seen any raptors anywhere! Arrow up if you think I should travel west
Raptors killed my level 29 para named Birdy Bird (dont Ask Why it’s name is birdy bird). I had to abandon Birdy bird! One like for R.I.P Birdy Bird :(
If One is following you and you are not prepaired hide behind a larhe herbivore like a trike. The raptor will accidently hit it and they will fight to the death. Run while the battle is still hapening. Hope this helped. Up for noobs who have never seen a raptor
If you encounter an alpha raptor while riding a weak tame and it attacks you. go swimming under water and get out of its range I saved my raptor (lvl 20) like this.
Use a bola and use narc arrows, or use a slingshot if you have too.
