Great Travel Mounts as they are pretty fast, Great as Pack creatures - a good level pack of these toothy fishes can even kill Mosas and Tusos so yeah they are very powerful in packs, Can stay on land for a decent time but after 20 seconds it'll start to get damage but uf your Xiphactinus is high level then it can withstand damage for a long time as the damage is not too high

Peek your head just under the water so you can see them at a distance. Shoot a couple tranqs at them it'll aggro and Chase and you lead it back to shore. Tranq it from the safety of the beach

These guys are evil I had with me my ichy and megalodon and 4 of these and 1 meg came and jumped me and killed everything including myself, went back with a mosa and that also died, that stuff is being left to despawn

Watch out! These things can and will destroy a 50k health tame no matter the saddle in minutes! Watch out in caves for high level packs of these things!

They’ll absolutely destroy your mutated 100k health 1200 melee Bassi in minutes if taken on all at once, try to kite some at a time and NEVER all at once on your mount.

I remember taking a Tussa my baso started to attack it it was on low-ish health then when i saw this thing I freaked out and it killed the tussa and my baso really quickly and about killed me! Thank god I survived with my argy that was above the surface

Spent a couple hours taming a 140 angler just to get run down by 3 of these things and gobbled up before getting a single pearl. These things are way too fast worst thing added to the game

May 22nd. Official server weekday a Lv 130F took 10 Superior Kibble (~89.9% effectiveness +64 lvls) had 9614 Topor with mid-high topor drain and slow up tick. High chance to kill with crossbow if you don't pace yourself.

The only place I've ever seen them spawn on the island is around herbivore island including the bay.

If you plan on taking a Baryonyx or any other small creature into the ocean,I strongly urge you to reconsider. These demon tunas are often in schools of 3-4 individuals and are able to grab your mount and if you’re low on hp,will LITERALLY eat you. Your best bets are to either take a mount they can’t grab (like Spino or Deinosuchus) or cut your losses with the unfortunate mount and make for the nearest bit of land where Xiphactinus can’t follow.

Definitely in vest in a aquatic tame, to tank the damage these things produce.. My 1st experience almost killed our tribes highest leveled Megaldon, and the Xiphactinus was only Level: 140. With that being said, beware of these deadly foes.

P.S. Also try and use Harpoon Tranqs. The Xiphactinus has low health, so if you bring any tranq arrows, you'll most likely kill it before you get the chance to tame it.
