The wyverns. Chapter 3:

Main characters:

Emerald: female ember wyvern, 8 year old

Nautilus: male water wyvern, 9 year old

Hailstorm: male Ice wyvern, 8 year old

Droplet: female blood wyvern, 10 year old

As Hailstorm and Emerald turned around to face the water wyvern, Emerald said quietly “so your sure that none of your comrades are nearby?” Nautilus nodded his head, still wearing the smug face on his deep teal face, Emerald thought that he wasn’t as handsome as Hailstorm was, but he was a funny, brave wyvern. “So where to next?” Hailstorm asked “I really don’t know” Emerald said, thinking she sounded dumb. “We could get some food?” Hailstorm suggested “ooor we can get out of water territory so we all don’t get killed” Nautilus suggested nearby, “good idea” Emerald said looking at Nautilus, Hailstorm, standing next to her, had a jealous look on his face. Nautilus helped Emerald pick Hailstorm up and they all moved to an unknown area that Nautilus had found one night, and they all ate and rested some more. Emerald had made a fire as Nautilus told them some stories of how he became a guard or how they thought he was a traitor. Emerald was very interested, but whenever she looked over at Hailstorm, he had an angry and jealous face, but when he saw that she was looking at him he turned his head slightly. Emerald was confused and Nautilus had seemed to notice too, “Maybe we should sleep for the night, and put the fire out, if a patrol catches us because of the fire, we’re dead” “good idea…” Hailstorm said in a quick, strained voice, Hailstorm quickly blasted frost-breath at the fire and the fire died. Emerald shivered and just as Hailstorm was gonna lay down next to her, Nautilus laid down next to her and they soon fell asleep. Hailstorm glared at Nautilus while he slept soundly next to Emerald. “Maybe it’s better if Nautilus slept next to her…” he muttered, remembering how much she shivered when she hid in the log with him or when she was carrying him. He knew Nautilus had warmer scales then he did, and that Nautilus was in love with her…as well as Himself…
