Taming & KO Tips
How do I tame a thylacoleo? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a thylacoleo.
I died 12 in a row trying to tame one I hate this thing
They have to drop 200 food before eating. But they don't require much to eat before tamed.
You wanna tame thyla on crystal Isles?
You can find them near wyvern trench and also in desert.
Just be careful bcz there are many crystal wyvern hiers there 😬
If you’re wondering whether or not to tame them. Do it. Great for everything from pvp to caving tame a thyla.
In general, it.prefers.cooked meat over raw, even for prime
How to easily tame Thylacoleo:
1. acquire a Special egg farm ( Hespornis for Golden eggs or a yuty farm will do )
2. Make a lot of extraordinary kibble
3. Travel to a nearby obelisk or Tek transferer thing ( I don’t remember it’s name )
4. Put all the kibble you made ( and any other useful materials you might need ) into the obelisk and transfer.
5. Open your SE map or server
6. Head to an obelisk ( or transfer thingy ) and acquire the kibble and your stuff
7. Head to the bad lands in the east of the SE map near the green obelisk
8. Knock out and tame the Thylas that are located in the area ( they walk around )
9.Transfer back to your Island server and brag to your underachieving friends that you’ve tamed a Thyla
If you want to build a trap build it with doorframes. They can’t climb up them.
I hate everyone saying bring hundreds of narcotics instead of narcotics make some kibble it’s not that difficult with kibble no narcotics are necessary so I say again USE KIBBLE
The most safe way to tame thylas is go to crystals isles scorched earth and ragnarock where the spawn in the desert it makes it sooo much easier because they can’t rip you of your saddle I just moved to ragnarock from crystal isles today. So far on ragnarock I have tamed 5 in the space of about 4-5 hours yesterday I tamed two in the space of about 7 hours (on crystal isles) the day before I tamed 1 in the space of 9 hours so I got 8 in three days and the best plase to go for high level thylas in the savanna on ragnarock the ones I tamed today were all 130+ they are all great my best I got yesterday I named him Garfield he is 223 he has 10000 hp 664 melee 2000 stamina and is just a overall weapon I really need to get a better saddle because he is the best so he deserves the best I hope everyone finds there dream thyla like I did and I hope you enjoy the as much as I do:)
You can fly in on a quick Dino and pick it up and bring it to a near by taming pen and then do the old fashion knock out and feed.
Be careful when flying through the trees in the Redwood! They will jump from the trees and snatch you off of your mount.
You'll find them both in the trees and on the ground. If in a tree, shot it down from a distance and once it's on the ground, wait for it to unaggro before chasing it with a bola.
Extremely useful creatures! They can climb player-made structures! I'm not 100% sure if they can climb metal, though.
taking a low level one (20) in a raft trap wish me luck I think he’s gonna wake up. But I think I can tame him and keep him asleep bc I have a trike and I can just destroy all bushes ever to exist for narcotics
note= I suggest keeping them asleep with 100s of narcoberries bc I fed him like 160 and he went from a quarter of the way awake to full
super easy to tame on scorched earth, im a dumbass and still managed to get two of them :) just make sure you have lots of narcotic, they wake up really fast
Think you're safe on your argie up in the sky? Wrong. These little fucks will come hurling at you from fuck nowhere and knock you off your flyer. You are not safe.
I’d recommend around five bear traps and around 30 narc arrows should do it place the traps close together so when it breaks out of the first bear trap it will run into another work every time if you do it right.
If you’re playing lost island go tame these in the desert. It is stupidly more easy to find and down them. They’re just prowling around on the ground and not a hidden dismount danger in the trees. There’s lots of cutouts in the rock there too so if you find Carnos or other walking predators that will interfere in the taming process you can just lead them off a cliff into a ravine. The spawn map has pings all over the mountain area on the east tide of the desert in the south.
Trust me when i tell u if ur looking for a thyla u better get a fast creature like a propoctodon bary and even a spino and make sure when u see it shoot at it so u get its attencion its hard to find a high level but trust me when i say it really worth it use a 4 by 4 trap make sure its rock then make sure the creature u using has a lot of health i recommend 10 k or 8k health because it does bleeding that can kill u and ur creature then Just tranq it the thyla preffers cooked Meat so i used cooked prime to tame my level 120 it takes a while but i say its worth it
Some people have been getting a glitch when not all creature’s appear to be in listed in fjorder but it is just a glitch some people have I don’t have it but some people have said about it and I just want to point that out
I get thylas knocked out sooooo well with the thorny dragon tail spines.#teamsyntac
These guys are some of the best tames in ark because you can tame things from its back by running away and tranqing your target from its back.
To tame them fly around in the red woods with a flyer that is on passive flee until a thyla tackles you out of the air. You need around 300-500 health and flak armour to survive the attack. Once it tackles you shoot it with a net gun if it's high level or just start tranqing it mid air and chase it (you need about 160% movement speed to catch it again)
Disclaimer: Make sure your flyer will not kill your thyla, I have lost 3 thylas that way.
