Tips & Strategies

What are tips for thylacoleo? Tips and strategies for thylacoleo in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
If they are perched in a tree, shoot them with a gun or crossbow to get them to fall from the tree without lunging, hope I could help.
This Mammals could be so useful and fierce; especially when you are flying around redwood forest. You should be so aware flying between big trees (those ones that you cannot chop down) they are mostly climbed at the trees.
For taming, I strongly recommend to make a trap, otherwise he can bleed out you or/and your tame.
In addition, Thylas are so powerful against dinos which have a lot amount of Hp. Thanks to their bite and that ability (bleed) that deals damage percentage can easily kill a soaker.
In conclusion, I strongly recommend to tame a couple Thylas and imprint them.
Name idea: Shere Khan. (From Jungle Book)
Mostly in the trees, on the ground after attacking something, if your looking for one I suggest flying higher then a RedWood tree, Mostly spawn in redWoods.
For all the creatures that drain torpor fast like a thyla or a therazino just use narcoberries so you don’t waset time on making narcotics and risk your dino waking up
On extinction thylos spawn in the wastelands
No joke, the simplest way to tame this thing is to just fly around the redwood forest, get it off you, and tranq it. Just level your health and have a fast flying tame and done.
ALT: you just let it jump on you, get it off, and net it, tranq and net every few seconds. Just make sure you don’t die.
They live in the redwood forest and whenever you are searching for one look up
This beast can knock you out of mid flight. Be careful of flying low.
Was happily riding through the Red Wood forest till I was knocked off my Argy by one of these gits! Luckily my Argentavis has high melee damage and the thing was killed. DO NOT fly in the Red Wood forest! It scared the living hell out of me.
The hard Really not that hard to tame shoot them down grab them with you argy and drop them in a taming pen I also have narcoticts ready and a lot of cooked meat and also have a tame that can gather narcoberries by the taming pen I got a level 130 using this method not that hard actually
I have been on a an Argy in the redwoods many times no issues. Last time I went in, as soon as I entered it flew at me from out of nowhere and scared the shit outta me. Lucky I had two Argys following me for aerial support or I was a goner! Just survived with metal armour. Bring friends if you’re going in the redwoods
My first tame on ark was a thyla. Her name was lilac.I lost her to an alpha red that attacked my base.My base was in one little clearing near the mountain in the red woods.
To find one carrying a turret mode perasaur with an argy, you can fly above the danger zone and will get a red indicator on the trees they are hiding in.
I love theses giant kitty cats, I have quite a few now. Use a net gun and tranq darts. Be prepared to run if it wakes up preferably have a flyer ready then net it again. It's a fancy cat so cooked meat is best. Have a tone of narcotics and narco berries.
Pro tip: if you want to breed theses guys you need a constant supply of mutton so breed ya sheep first. I lost babies because I couldn't find enough mutton.
These guys are actually really fun to tame!! For me I just used about 3 bear traps lined em up and while I was on my argy I flew over them(I was high enough so the thylla can't get me) then after that I just tranquilized it and done!! (I wouldn't recommend using raw meat it takes longer)
I’d recommend around five bear traps and around 30 narc arrows should do it place the traps close together so when it breaks out of the first bear trap it will run into another work every time if you do it right.
Thylas dont spawn on trees in fjordur so u can fly around without worries and the R versión of thyla spawns on fjordur and u can find thylas in asgards red trees biome i think
Only finding them with para/ tek helmet.
Afterwards jump up with karkinos and grab them from the trees.
