yo to the guys who say they hate the thyla

I'm sure he was as annoyed as you when he sees a tasty meal and gets you insted

My first encounter of this

I was going to my friends base through the redwoods with my wyvern he had gifted me. I flew a little too low and then a thylacoleo jumped on me and ripped me off my wyvern Venom. The thylacoleo murdered me. I asked my friend about Venom, she was okay. I took my ptera and flew to the spot. Not going to redwoods for a while. Scared the heck out of me.

Look out for them when traveling through the redwood forest, they sometimes spawn on trees and can jump, they dismount you from the dino and are dangerous to fight alone. Got dismounted by one from my argent, managed to survive but got separated from tje bird, took me 30 min to find it.

I was flying high and it mounted me

Fun fact: Thylacoleos were marsupials, meaning they had a pouch, kind of like a kangaroo!

Fyi climb above the redwoods you will get tackled by this guy

I was flying with my petradon (Petra near the ground, out of nowhere he jumped at me killed me killed Petra

Tip: don't fly near the ground

EZ way to find them on Lost Island. Fly to the green obelisk then sight a little round island on desert shore, fly straight for that island then sight large black jutting rock formations. They can be found near those formations and along the desert boundary on the right and behind the jutts. I took a wyvern and built a low level trap, picked up a 140 and a 130 yday. Bring cryopods for easy transport..

Oh PVP use a wyvern and just pick them off a tree then drop in a trap.

My brother calls them thylacalicos. ALSO

In crystal isles they wander around the entrance to the Griffin canyon and the areas around there.

Just kicked my whole life out of my body. Didn’t even know these existed. Do not fly in the redwoods apparently.

Lost my Wyvern to one of these was flying in the redwoods then BAM I’m knocked off my wyvern I got murdered then checked chat and my wyvern died too

They will knock u off ur flyer I learnt this the hard way

If you have a large dinosaur your riding it can't knock you off

I never fly or walk into the redwoods because i lost a lot of loot and good tames to those beasts! I have found ways to avoid getting killed by these if you ever had to go to the redwoods :

-- wear a strong armor (flak works just great)

-- get a couple of strong tames or one strong tame (Giga, rex, therizino, etc) with you so that if you get ambushed by a thyla they'll kill it!

-- i would strongly recommend having a shotgun with high damage or any ascendant weapon that could kill the thyla in seconds

-- use stegos (they have the dismount prevention buff)

-- shooting the thylas with a net projectile could work (with a harpoon launcher)

-- increase your health so that you'll last longer when facing a thyla

i hope this helps you out, this also works with any other dismounting creatures (purlovias, kapros, microraptors, ect...)

Pikes will save your life. Best chance against a pouncer if they jump you.

You won’t find them. They’ll find you.

But i was nooo where near the dumb tree. Most dumbest vertical leap i ever saw.

These don’t spawn in mobile. :)

The Thylacoleo is really good put is super annoying in the redwoods . They get you off your mount even if you are flying .
