Really good tame for caves. Recommended

Tamed one of these on most maps since they're such beasts at clearing caves

You should bring alot of narcotics because they wake up pretty quickly and they can be quite annoying

These guys are absolutely perfect multi-purpose mounts! I use mine, Mars, for taming. Since you can use weapons on their backs, I recommend leveling health so they can soak damage while you tranq out whatever dino you're after from its back.

You can use a basic dino trap. When on the floor these creatures do not climb. You don’t have to worry about building a ceiling on its trap.

They can be found wandering around the griffins area in crystal iles

In Genesis 2, you can find them most commonly around the mountains over on the “day side”, the R variant pattern is very unique compared to the traditional thylacoleo pattern and makes them easy to spot, best way to knock them out is shocking tranq darts, this has always been my favorite tame since ragnarok

Go to the southwest island that looks like a paw print on Ragnarok. Build a taming pen, I used a 4 by 4, 2 walls high and lead into trap. Knock out thyla and starve tame, let it's food go down by about 400. Bring lots of narcotics/ bio toxin. Feed cooked lamb chop ( ovis is everywhere on rag) or ext kibble if you have it. Bam , you have a thyla

I haven’t seen one yet, but they should be in Gen 2 on the ground. I’ve seen a YouTuber or two encounter one. Apparently they will be found on the ground like in Rag. Though I am curious if they do their perching on the side of cliffs instead of the Redwoods.

These things are one of the best ways to move around and survive. Any one above level 100 will be an amazing and well rounded companion. These can kill anything that isn't an alpha Rex or a giga. They can kill alpha raptors and Carnos pretty well to if they are 75 plus

Cooked works better than raw. So start having a BBQ with this big fellow

It has a possibility of clutching your mount into the ground.

Although it may harm them use at least 3 large bear traps and use any knock out method (Equus,Tranqs,ETC.)

Great tames for PvP faster then any bird you can ever get and I get around yhe entire map in 5 mins... I would use them for killing people's tames not for tanking turrets

These are found in scorched earth mostly in the badlands but I've seen loads randomly in odd places. They only get their "knock off attack" if they are perched in a rock cliff or tree or really anywhere they can hang from so in scorched earth you are relatively safe when going after them in birds.

To tame this awesome cat. Go 4 high levels.And ALWAYS use cooked things.

Whenyour in thered woods just keep lookin in the trees or look for some that is on theground and closely to the edge of the red woods.?

I have tamed one of these with normal prime meat!!

Goa round redwood. Watch herbivores as thats how i found my first. Jumping out of a tree to kill a bunch of herbivores
