If you good enough you dont need ghillie suit or rare flower just get close enough without entering its range while its landed aim slightly above it and throw your bola then just club it unconscious and feed

Telly easy tame and great for maps without wyverns or for lower lv ppl.

1- sneak up, crouching w hola

2- bola it and KO it

3- feed meat and narco

4- fly away on your new flier!

If it flies away from you when you want to tame it, use a rare flower to aggro it. You can attempt to shoot it down while aggro’ed, but it will also land again once it’s no longer angry so you can try again.

Step-By-Step on how to tame a Tapejara

1. Eat a rare flower so it will aggro and chase you

2. Land your flier and bola him (Make sure your flier is on passive)

3. Knock him out and feed him superior kibble or any type of meat (Preferably raw prime or mutton)

A saf’r tapejara guide!

You'll need: stone dinosaur gateways, 2 stone dinosaur gateway doors, 6-10 rare flowers or more depending on the distance you put your trap, a tanky flyer (maybe 1000 or more health?) that can fit through the doors and a good steep mountain thats fairly safe.

STEP 1: Set down your birdcage trap, open one of the doors thats in the direction of the tapejara.

STEP 2: Munch a flower, make sure no other flyers other than the tapejara are following you. Make sure the rare flower timer doesn’t go below 5 seconds at least.

STEP 3: Once you get it inside the trap, lock your tame and the tapejara in and begin shooting, don't worry about your tame as the timer will go down and it'll stop attacking (tapejaras are a fleeing animal like pteranodons!)

STEP 4: Do the usual knockout tame stuff, fill it with narcotics and food and wait until tamed!

Tada! You have made a reusable trap and have a tapejara :D

These things are great at taming Dino’s from the air. If yur above a spin-off or Rex yu want to tame, just sit on the back of yur tapijara and let it fly in place. There’s nothing the Dino can do as you shoot its face with tranq darts and/or arrows. Watch it fall to the ground and feed it the required taming food. Congrats, give yur tapijara a pat on the back, and celebrate with a taming party

Rare flowers don’t work on mobile so for all those who are on mobile I’m sorry

The easiest way to tame this would be to either wher ghillie armor and sneak up close to it and bola it, or to sneak up from behind, but not as close. The main key is to have good bola skills when doing the second one.

When you see it land start well back to get up to speed start sprinting at it and swinging your bola at the same time if your fast and accurate you can get close enough to throw your bola just before it leavea the ground. I know sneaking is how your suppose to do it but sneaky never works for me. This works if you a good bola thrower.

How to tame: (Also note you will need gillie suit)

1. sneak up on one and bola it

2. Tranq it or club it

3. Feed kibble or meat

4. 123 omg you have something that is almost impossible to tame

If you want to tame this big boy i prefer cloud save after seeing it then just try to bola hım if you accidentally kill it or lost it just get back to your cloud save

Clean the area around it and use a rare flower near it. It will try to attack you and you can bola it easily.

It says these can be netted but I don’t think they can. I shot one three times with net projectile and on the third shot I know I hit because a saw a blood spatter animation which doesn’t seem appropriate for net gun anyways and it was never captured. Maybe a bug? Playing on PC lost Island. It ended up being easy to down with just two tranq darts tho so it wasn’t too much of a loss except the waste of three nets.

**THIS IS ONLY FOR THE MOBILE PLAYERS**

Well I'm not a pro player but if you found this guy you need:

1. Tranq arrows ( with crossbow only 3 but recommended to take 10)

2. Some Bolas in case you missed it

3. About 10 narcotics

4. About 15 row meat (I used)

5. And a flying creature with a saddle ( if you don't have one at least find some dilos so you can protect your buddy)

How to do:

First when you found one make sure you have your Bola and your bow or crossbow in your hot bar. Then make sure it don't see you so you can go closer or if it sees you far away it will fly away (it happed to me) if it flies away try using your flying creature. When get close to him or her use your Bola and trap it. **BOLA WON'T HOLD IT MUCH LONGER SO BE FAST** Then use your tranq arrows to make him unconscious then place your meat and narcotics in it's inventory then wait about 20 mins then it will be your buddy.

Make sure to keep it safe or you will have to do this again.

just a general tip . In ark mobile, i discoverd that sleeping then knocking will cause more hunger then just knocking and waiting or knocking then sleeping. This is how I got my Anklyo and tapejara, Gallimims’ Therizinosaurus etc...

Nobody mentions that the rare flower duration stacks so if you eat 50 thats 50 × 10 so you have alot of time just make sure nothing else aggros on you

There is a bunch of them at the red obelisk on scorched earth. :)

If you all need help, I have some tips that I hope might help! Get Ghillie armor. Next Get bolas and 5 prime meat or More. Next Make sure to use weapons or A creature to kill near predators ( Trust me you should NOT have predators around the area. ) Next knock it out by using a bola. Make sure there aren’t Predators nearby.

Get narcotics To keep it unconscious. Have a Tapejara saddles. In a few minutes or more you’ll have a tapejara!

When trying to tame a lower level, USE TRANQ DARTS. I spent an hour looking for one and when I hit it in the head with an arrow, IT DIED. USE 1 DART TO THE HEAD. The frill on it doesn’t count as a hit, so aim for it’s mouth.
