So if you finnaly find a tapejara but its in a terrible area to tame or it keeps running from you, use RARE FLOWERS. By eating them it gets the tapejara to agro to you so make sure you have enough health to deal with the attacks. While the tapejara is chasing you, you can lead it to your base or wherever your ideal taming spot is. They will also not fly away but you need to make sure you have a ton of rare flowers or when the effect runs out, it will fly off and never be seen again :,D

Really no need to craft a whole ghillie suit for this. Totally unnecessary. You just need a couple of bolas and some good aim. Throw them from a distance, they spook easy.

A quick albeit risky way to tame one is to use a Dire Wolf/Raptor/Sabertooth and rush at it with a bola, with some skill you can bola it before it has a chance to react and are free to tranq it.

Where does the Tapejara spawn in The Lost Island?

Here’s how I did it it’s so simple. If your into cheats like me press tab on computer on Xbox lb rb x and y on the controller and type this: GCM and then dotame for forcetame.

(Forcetame makes you able to ride the target with no saddle) then use dotame or forcetame and look at the animal

These are a "rare" spawn, but I see them all over the eastern part of the island all the time. Just north of the east edge of and over the swamp (coastal/wooded area) in towards the redwoods; I always see 4 or 5 of them.... build a wall enclosure with fence foundations or some kind of walled taming pen for protection (I just set my dinos in my holding pen to passive and use that) rare flower them in with a flyer and land in your pen, bola, then starve tame them if you can... always parcers and brontos in that area for prime. Im taming my 6th (and highest lvl so far, 130) now.

To tame, simply craft a bola, and sneak up on it. Once you get close, begin to wind up the bola. Throw it once you have a clean shot. Once it’s stuck, shoot it with a tranq arrow or two. Make sure to bring some prime meat!!!

Bro I recommend this for long distance flight resource trips, good stamina, sure no reduction, but if it’s for other resources it’s great and it flies pretty fast too like the pteranodon speed and the saddle is before pteranodon. Overall, pretty good tame, but it’s rare so there’s that, fly higher up they locate more there. Up if helpful

Never ever tame one in the swamp

So I was out looking for a tape with my theri AND NEVER EVER TAME ONE NEAR THE SWAMPS AND NEAR THE REX

I knocked one out with a lot of tranq and I didn't see a Rex but then...it was finally knocked out BUT THEN A REX CAME AND HARMED IIT WHILE IT WAS EATING UNCOUNSIOUS I QUICKLY TRY TO KILL IT WITH MY THERI BUT I ENDED UP KILLING THE TAPE THEN I GOT MAD SO I KILLED THE REX

The easiest way to tame the tapejara is: get a bola and find a tapejara. Then you run near it and bola it as fast as you can. Then you must punch it with wooden club or with your fists till its unconscious. Feed it meat or prime meat and you have your tapejara. And you dont really need narcotics because its tamed up fast.

Things that tapejaras can do when you have a saddle on it and ride it:

-Can hang on walls, trees etc.

-Can restore their endurance when you change to passenger seat.

-Can fly forwards, sidewards and backwards

-Player can shoot at dinos while in the air when being on passenger seat.

If on mobile, don’t try to use rare flowers to tame. The rare flower pheromone effect doesn’t exist on mobile. Instead, wait for the tape to land and then quickly bola it. You could also jump off of a flyer and use a parachute to tranq it from the sky, but it is harder to determine if it will pass out in a safe area.

It’s good for taming just change seat tell it to follow you then it won’t fly back to ground get a DoDo arrow then you hit then it attacks make trap for it

A tapejara is hard to tame due since if you get close to them they get scared and fly away. So if you can kill some ducks to get organic polymer and craft ghillie suit and bolas and tranq arrows or a club to knock out. Then feed it raw meat or prime meat. Or mutton raw or cooked. Also have narcotics or narcoberries to keep knocked out. Then have a good day with it.
