If you have a Tribe, a Quetz or Ghille Armor Tapejara is an easy tame. Ghille allows you to go up and sniff it, Quetz allows you to use a 3x3 trap and with a Tribe of 3-5 just get everyone to headshot it with tranqs and a level 60 or lower should drop before it lifts off. Obviously higher tier Torpor projectiles allow this to work on higher levels.

If you have none if that, it is still doable. All you need is a Bola and anything that inflicts Torpor. Crouch walk behind it until you get into the range where it'd see you if you were standing. Start swinging the Bola and stand up and walk towards it. You've got about a further second to close the gap while it taunts before flying. Aim a little over its head as Bola drops fast. And try to throw it dead centre as it seems to be just go throw wings.

This is the only flying dino that can attack on land

If you only have bolas get a devent length away gorm them and aim up a bit you can still bola it that way

Always secure tame this. His health is so low that he needs one or two bites and its down. Just place wooden spikes around it, so wild animals can't get your bird.

These guy are very useful for taming quetzals. But make sure you stay under it. The drivers hit box can get caught in the bow,crossbow,longneck and knock you out. After that your body will fall halfway down to the ground and you will then wake up and die. You should only pump stam,weight and movement.

Place a pachyrhino on top of a quetz saddle and approach the flying Tapejara, press C to anger it and then get off and shoot the Tapejara. Make sure you get back on the Pachyrhino and right click to stop it from being attacked. Fly off slowly and the Tapejara will follow you to where you want to go making it easy to shoot.

If you can't make a quetz trap to tame one, you can always attatch yourself to a ptera or argy with a grap hook and chase/shoot it down from the sky. Otherwise, you will have to hope it lands.

Just walk slowly, aim your bola well then run and throw. Pop that dude in the face and wait for the good stuff

Best way to tame a quetzal besides using a quetz trap. Simply upgrade speed and mostly stamina. Sit two passengers on with tranqs and either fly underneath or beside the quetzal and have the passengers shoot.

Great pvp mount for either being a heli scout with you're friend on the back, or straight outmanuevering and picking up players or out maneuver hits while attacking other mounts

Use bolas and wooden club to knock it out it should be knocked out depending on your lvl and tapejara lvl

Tapejara can hold 4 players, middle seat-flying and you have the front and back seats, also you can pick up another person, tapejara is an awesome scout bird, but fragile just like the pterodactyl.

Don't trust a gorilla

Just have a few bolas and then tranq it.

The best way I found to tame these magestic creatures is buy building a cage on a quetz. To build said cage you would need a 2 x 3 use door frames. The way this cage works is you would need a quetz that is just barely faster then one. Once you have that all you do is move the quetz to where the tapejara would be in the cage and completely stop. This part is very important because if you move the quetz while it's in there it will just phase through. But after you stop the tapejara all you have to do is use your prefers method of knocking it out.

Build a cage out of door frames on quetz. Quickly position the cage so that tepeja is inside. Immediately dismount and then use darts to tame it.

One bola is usually not enough to tranq it in time if you are solo and they are very fast once they are free and spooked. Chase it with a pteranodon or other flyer to the volcano, then follow it until it gets stuck on rocks where you may dismount. Tranq while it is stuck and you can solo tame it even without bolas.

Tapejara's are one of the most annoying creatures to tame, once it catches a glimpse of you it will immediately fly away at astonishing speed. An easy way to tame one would be to use a bola and catch it but if you can not get close enough then use a cliff as a sort of cage and get it to fly into the cliff, easy tame.

Best way to tame one is to slowly approach with bola in hand an dont go from the front stay at the back or it will take off into the sky then once your close enough throw it an hope you hit it
