Tips & Strategies

What are tips for tapejara? Tips and strategies for tapejara in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Be sure to have a ghillie suit. Way easier to bola it that way. Tapajara makes quetzal tame an easy task being that you can shoot from the mount while flying in first person
Fly sideways while shooting from a passenger seat to avoid shooting the pilot or mount.
I think if the three saddle and the bird is careing a player you might be able to grapple on for more than 4 players
DO NOT LOG OFF WHILE ATTATCHED TO A TREE OR CLIFF! you will find yourself on the floor and your bird MIA (possibly still on the cliff)
If you have a Tapi that will not land, drive it towards a mountain. It seems they must be within a certain distance from the ground in order to land. This can be a very long (the first time took me 2 hours), frustrating, and rather dangerous process (bring a parachute), so I only recommend it for a Tapi you REALLY want. Good luck and I hope this helps other solo players!
If its a girl punch in the Vagina. Guy dick punch that mother fucker
This is a definite spur of the moment tame, if you find one around your base get your ghillie, bolas, and tranqs asap go back to its location, lay down and wait for it to land. Bola it and aim your tranqs at his head for a quick knockout.
Biggest assholes in the game. They fly away at incredible speeds compared to the speed they actually have. Quetz cage, enough said
Best way to tame is to wait for it to land, bola, KO (Preferably a normal crossbow), then place spike walls around it for protection
Advanced Taming - Scoop a pachyrhinosaurus with a quetzal then fly close to the tapejara and use your aggressive fermentation to get it attacking the pachy lure it all the way to a trapping pen (bird trapping pen) drop the pachy and walk into the pen with the pachy get it stuck close the door bola, tranq, starve tame and you got yourself a tape jars - best done with 2 players - tips from pursuit / rob / monstr / mull
These jerks almost never land, I've found more way high than anywhere near the ground. I got sick of waiting and chased one around for an hour with a quetz and was able to bola it out of the sky from high up. I wasted over 50 in the attempt but it is possible to bola that high and have it not die. The one I knocked down was a 76,i can't say for sure if lower levels won't die in the attempt. Alternatively you may also try carrying a partner on a pteranadon or tapejara and having them bola it as with either of those you are more likely to be able to keep up.
Your best bet is to bola it from behind so it can't run. Can see you very easily and runs away. Uses tranqs
Bring premade spike walls with you. Everything from Dilo to Rex seems to know when you drop one and show up rather quickly to snack on it.
Easy tame if it is found on the ground (=not flying.)
Wear a ghillie suit, approach crawling, bola it, use tranq arrows/darts, then just feed it, tame it and have it following you to your base ;-D
My favorite flyer. Like the Banshee from Avatar! It's is a wonderful scout, and stealth flyer. You can out manuever anything, and it is great for snipers, assassin's, and thieves! Especially if you carry a pego, and parachutes, or a microraptor. Also great for group assassinations or taming things like quetzal. Makes stealing wyvern eggs easy in single player.
And if you love flying and seeing things from different angles this is the Dino for you!
Just use a quetzal catcher to capture it then knock it out
I just tamed one about an hour ago, best way is to carry a friend on an argument or pteranodon and have the friend bola it, then drop the friend and have them tranq it
Very useful tame. Good for traveling due to its ability to latch onto vertical surfaces, allowing safety from predators while recovering stamina
This game... I tamed a lvl 90 an at 75% suddenly an alpha raptor spawnes on the other side of the river...
tired of seeing low lvl quetzals? then grab about 200% movement speed some sham and rest damage.. with the ability to strafe in any direction. you can easily keep up with the quetzal after being hit, and trying to escape. works great for me, even though they are not meant for damage, it's easier then using an argentavis to kill low lvl quetzals. don't need any health into it either for the quetzal doesn't attack you.
just runs like the GingerBread Man
