Tbh the easiest way to tame this thing is no need tek jetpack no need ghillie you only need plenty of bed around it.

Just make 3x3 foundation and 5 wall height doesnt works with s+ tested and verified because ive spent 19 hrs for this thing use the vanilla wall and foundation (NO DOORS OK) FULLY WALL

Make a ramp and bait them into your trap and let them kill you in there if the thing keep aggro at wall you need to replace it with extra wall it will go away to other wall or stop aggro.

After the cat stop aggro onto wall or you you can fit the fish thru the wall just go near the wall and you might see its tail or feet you still can feed it.

Easily best dino for boss battles, there small and fun to breed because of the cool colours and to be honest taming them isn't too difficult to tame only requiring a fish basket with a decently large fish eg: 1.1x. They also get hydrated buff and can do a charged move doing a lot more damage. And are 2 seater and even have natural armour so no need for a saddle.

These creatures can be very hard to tame, first thing you need to do is get a LOT of filled fish baskets, then go to the “Rockwell’s garden” area at 8:00am find one that is sleeping feed it the fish and repeat until tamed

So, for fjordur players, in the ocean there are these big brown mushrooms that are kinda everywhere- outside the hexagon-rock cave on vardiland, around the twin islands, everywhere near land- you get the idea. Now, these actually give fungal wood, meaning that you don’t have to risk life and limb in the shadowmane bit getting fungal wood and can actually just go for a quick swim off the coast, just avoid megalodons and manta. Also, I recommend an andrewsarchus just in case and because they can carry the fungal wood for you. Good luck survivors!

In my experience to tame 1 I trap it in a cage of 20 stone dinosaur gates with doors in each cause if the dumb cat goes to water the taming resets so to trap it I lure it to the trap while flying with the tek jetpack

When he is in I fly high or go away of his render (300 m) so he don’t agro

Wait until DAYTIME when it’s ASLEEP (not knocked out) to tame it, it’s preferred food is a full fish basket of at least 0.5 quality

I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT. To tame them you need to wait until it does a sleeping animation. the animation is as followed, it does a little spin and lay on the ground after that it will still like that for a few minutes, but it will wake up if it sees you, it heard you foots steps or if you started running to it too close. Now that its a sleep you need to get a fish basket with a fish in it (NOTE the fish HAS to be larger then 0.5x) you have it in you offhand and feed it the fish. The bigger the fish the more taming you will get.

Use a filled fish basket with fish over x0.5 to tame. They go into a laying down mode and during that walk up crouched and feed them passively

Tip for genesis 2- use a net gun to get a quetz. Get it to at least 5k stamina. Cryo him up. Make 5 foundations, 12 ceilings, 12 walls and 12 fence foundations. Then you want to go to rockwells garden following the city trench all the way to the other side. You'll find a building with with a pool of water behind it. You'll want to set the trap up on the roof of the building. The trap is 2 by 4, foundations in the corners connected by the ceilings. Put the fence foundations on the inside and the fence on top of the fence foundations. You'll be able to crouch under the ceilings but not the foundations and the fence foundations blocks the shadowmanes line of sight. Go and scope out a high level kitty, kill it's pack then cycle visor to check for not like. Pop out the quetz and go and pick kitty up and put them in the trap. Don't thank me, thank phlinger!

Once they lay down you kinda gotta hurry to feed them because they'll get up after a few seconds

Is anyone ready for fjordor because shadowmanes spawn in the moded version so if you can’t buy gen 2 you can get fjordor for free so easy dlc creature.

Remember not to go to tame these creatures in the nighttime as they are invisible are quite active.

Pain too tame easy too find you only have seconds to tame them so beware plus you CANNOT transfer full fish baskets to gen2 so you’ll have to catch fish first and then tame
