To get the fish in order to tame a shadowmane, look for the rivers of the Eden biome.

They are packed with fish, and the shallow water allows for less problems catching them.

EASY TAME = near shadowmane build a 2X2 Stone foundations with minimum 2 walls high. Lure it to the box and hover above. Once it uses its flash strike it will drop in the trap. Feed through the walls NO need for any ghillie etc only fish to feed it ( pre cryo fish after basket taming them).

They are hard to tame but if you know what you are doing. It is not that bad.

For 100% tami g efficiency, use fish that are side 1.4 and above. The shadowmane will only lose 0.2 taming effectiveness. To trap it, first net it and build a trap around it using 8 stone fence foundations, 8 stone door frames on the fence foundations, and 8 stone walls on top of the door frames. I suggest using gillie suit and always approach it from its back or behind otherwise it will see you.

I highly HIGHLY recommend using a trap on these guys. To tame mine I net gunned it and placed a two by two fence foundation square around it then placed stone door frames two high on the fence foundations. NOTE: USE STONE they can break wood. Next I just waited for it to sleep and just fed it fish. If you can’t find any good fish I recommend piranhas, because they are always size 1 and it can’t be a smaller number rounded. To catch the piranhas I place a tent on top of them and the basket next to the tent. Like if this was helpful, I really hope it was!

At first I was discouraged about how much fish they take but dodo has the numbers way off. If you can find a couple 2.0 or higher with some 1.1s you’ll be fine to tame a max lvl but use the bat blood mix. I also suggest using a 2x2 trap with ramps. If you have a quetz they can also pick them up.. now go out and get you a super op water puppy

If you want to tame one don't use the tek super Sprint Leggins thing cause it will Wake up

Build an elevated drop trap 4x4 foundation then one wall on a corner then 4x4 ceiling pieces(can use hatchframes in the corners), from that wall mirroring the foundations. Then 2 high walls all around. Use the shadowmanes own leap to drop it into the trap then fly directly up out of render and comedown out of its aerial line of sight. Using the foundtions on the first floor you can crouch and feed it through the floor and itll never see you if you dont fly over it. Dont recommend a ramp as other nearby wild dinos may wander in and aggro it.

Manes can only be Tamed between 0800 and 2200. You May search for extra fish at night time. Tame doesnt get reset if you out of render distance.

MAKE SURE you sneak up from behind it not from in front or else he will sense you wake up and taming will reset!

Get a bunch of fish basket and catch fish, bigger fish =higher efficiency. You'll find the asleep in the Rockwell garden. Approach them from behind and feed the the basket, be sure to track them because they go invisible once fed.

You DONT NEED GHILLIE!! Make a 4x4 stone foundation 6 double door frames 4 hatchframes 16 walls. Agro it fly above the trap. It will Teleport to you. Fly away to lose agro. Go back sit under it and feed. Easy. Apart from the 3 hr grind for 1.5+ fish.
