It doesn't look like anything above 1.5 gives it higher taming efficiency. We fed it 2.2 and 2.4 and was giving same as 1.5 and 1.6

Ignore what other people have told you. You don't need gillie. Don't bring gillie. Use the federation suit and hover above, then fly away a bit run closer then crouch ez your done. Also protip if your wearing the federation suit and you fall of a cliff while crouching and land next to a sleeping shadowmane it won't wake up unless you land in front of its face.

Note: this method requires a quetz. This is how we did it: we carried the little kitty back to the non-evil side of the map with our quetz and placed him in an open area with all dinosaurs killed beforehand. Do the usual where you feed it fish. Make sure you have your ghillie or eat cactus soup (or both). If its high level and you don't have enough time to tame him before night time, place a trap with stone doorways and carry the shadowmane with your quetz into the trap for the night. He won't lose taming during the night. That way you can also get more fish if you need to. Be aware that if you go too far he will unload and he will be able to leave the trap, so either leave a tribe member around to watch him or fish where you can see him. If you are using better dinos as of 06/11/21 , do not use wire baskets, it won't tame him.

To tame this you get stinky piranha fishes find one sneak with Gilly armor and feed when sleeping run but not to far do that like 29 times

And do not get wrong and make it aggressive so don’t get too close sneak sneak up from behind when you’re feeding and yeah then you got yourself a hard to get shadow mane

If thry are in pack they are really strong and can use hide ability, you should have both of male and female to use hiden skill.

For Female if they are in group she can make another invisible in her area. (press "x" )

For male,lf they are in group, he can buff movement speed and recovering (press "x" )

Both of gender press "c" : individual invisible, press hold "space bar" for dashing

Click right for target an enemie will dash and attack but if you are holding the right click it will target all enemies in area and attack all of them, this doesn't mean can kill all of them but just attack all of them, be careful.

It is a passive tame with fish baskets (0.5 or higher) and yes you do newd ghillie armour. But no you do not need a full set. Use ghillie gauntlets and pants and keep your tek jet pack, tek boots, and your tek helmet on. When it goes to sleep dont land too close or you will wake it up and reset taming. It is much easier to do it this way. Also uou dont need to catch new fish. Get cryos and catch the fish then put them in cryo until needed, release and re-cage then feed.

Trap a Parana and you can get up to 1.6-2.0 taming effectiveness. So about 50 fish for a 150 🥴

If you breed them you have to stay on for the full time til baby to juvenile.....not much known about babies after you breed.

Use a trap it’s a lot easier than not using it

Nooblets.com has a design to a effective taming trap for shadowmanes. I personally use this design and it works like a charm. You can find tge design on YouTube nooblets.com is the guys username.

When trapping these water lions, don’t use the classic ramp and 3x3, instead use the 3x3 only, and then hover over the trap and the water lion will dash up to you and fall in the trap. Tek suit is recommended for this ;)

If you want to tame a Shadowmane in Fjordur here is some helpful advice: Don't they don't stay asleep consistently enough to be able to tame them and when they do decide to sleep for a minute after getting to about 70% tame it would reset, so after 12 hours of trying I have finally given up.

Best way to get fungal wood is any of the large mushroom looking things under water on the main map. They line the beaches just a lil ways out

The only thing that would make this better, is if it could shoot webs like spiderman and swing non stop
