Not sure if it was just me but these things don't seem to like to attack under water. Tested on gen 1. Would attack through moeder fight (very easy btw) but other missions and creatures after a while they would just seem passive even when set to aggressive. Seems like I haven't seen many posts about this though
More Shadowmane Utility Tips
Since Shadowmanes have eight attacks/abilities, let me walk you through how to use them on a Playstation!
Primary attack: this one’s easy, press the right trigger.
Teleport/lightning attack: double click the left trigger near a creature.
Teleport attack (with radar ability): hold the left trigger down until a target is found, then press it again.
High jump: hold down X until crosshairs appear. The longer you hold the higher and further the jump.
Camouflage: click the right joystick.
Charged attack: hold down the right trigger. (You can only use this attack when the bar at the bottom of the screen is full and the shadowmane’s eyes are glowing. If you deal the final blow with the attack, it will automatically recharge.)
Roar pack bonus (male): double click the right joystick.
All tame cloak (female): double click the right joystick.
Welcome to the ultimate guide of full use of shadowmanes these powerful creatures are very, very dangerous they have three abilities and one special mate ability which is only active when they have a mate. These guys can be used as a travel creature and a battle creature not to mention it’s special ability to sneak into camps. They have the basic bite and claw attack, they have this teleport pounce that hits multiple creatures in a row zigging one creature to another stunning them also if you use the basic attack enough, it will charge up which allows you to unleash one giant attack that can kill and gather a creature with one hit and if you do kill the creature with that hit, then it will remain charged. They also have a hydrated buff just like the spinosaurus when it gets into the water and doesn’t need air to breathe You can also charge up their jump ability leading to an absolutely massive jump that doesn’t take fall damage not to mention the fact that all shadow means are able to turn themselves, invisible, disabling wild and tamed creatures from attacking it or noticing it, the only two visible things would be its skills and the footprint it leaves behind Also, if you use any of the other abilities, it will disable the camouflage.the mate abilities are very useful The male has a roar that boosts all of your creatures stats by just a little bit.(PS for the switch it’s the same one for the camo you just hold it down)and the female is able to transfer its invisibility powers to other creatures around it. This creature is the crown jewel of ark creatures, as it is fast, strong, has good weight, can take a hit, and cloaks and swims incredibly fast. As well as everything listed above, they have a dash attack that hits multiple targets, and gets a crazy mate boost. There more, but I’m tired of typing how good shadowmanes are🙂
These fish kitties are the most op thing I’ve ever used. They are fast, semi-aquatic, have natural armor, don’t need a saddle, can teleport behind creatures and stun them, they can turn invisible, females can turn any friendly creature near them invisible when mate boosted, males can do a roar buff when mate boosted, they get a crazy pack buff, can do a super jump and they can charge themselves to do a super attack by hitting creatures. Also they don’t lose taming process for several days. A pack of strong, imprinted shadowmanes with skilled riders is basically unkillable.
Both male and female can cloak themselves, but female can also cloak all dinos in an area around it, while the males cannot. The males can instead give a courage effect I imagine is similar to Yutys, but I don’t know for sure. Both male and female also have a powerful charged jump, and a dash attack where they teleport between a group of creatures and damage them, and also stun them for a couple seconds
