Once on Ragnorok I had full tek armor and went to the swamp to catch a sarco and got instantly killed by one.

I was near the sea with my level 7 dilo then a sarco level 4 just came out of nowhere from the water and killed me I still don't know what happened to my dilo because it was not in attack mode (the lesson is if you find a body of water just incase keep some distance from it)

Sarcos are powerful if used right. I killed an alpha carno with a sarco because I was deep enough for it to ignore me..... and I was an early survivor when that happened.....

My teammate was knocked out in the middle of a snake and sarco infested cave and all of a sudden three phomias come out of now were at me and behind them is the biggest sarco I’ve ever seen I’m had a normal bow and actually won! And then the an titanaboa army came out of now were we fought to the last man and giant frog rip

Should I tame a sarco or a stegosaurus first????

These dudes are super fast in water! They can see you from a mile! Be super careful with killing one of these. Normally I would use arrows and a primitive bow to kill it. Also make sure you keep your distance! These guys can pounce on you from a far and bite you with their powerful jaws. This information was brought to you from a beginner.

They are pretty easy to tame if you stay not too far away and just keep shooting them with Tranqs.

THE BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO TAMING SARCO:

1. Get a slingshot and a bunch of stones, and if possible, a bow and tranq arrows

2. Go on the jungle in west zone 1, and try to find sarco (look under cliffs)

3. Shoot it with your bow or slingshot. It cant climb if youre on the cliff

4. Once its unconcious, check if other sarcos are there. If not, walk up to the body and feed it the fish meat. If there are sarcos, shoot them too and feed them the meat.

5. Set timer in this app.

6. Go back to ark, and just wait. You can harvest ferns, chop trees, do whatever. But never lose the location of sarco.

7. Now you have an absolute powerhouse on your side!

I entered a dangerous area and looked around, ready to run. As I turn around to go back the way I came, I see a cloud of dust coming towards me. A Sarco, barely a few feet away comes charging at me and my parasaur. I turn and run until I’m safe. Then I realize my parasaur isn’t with me. I panic and run back, where I find the Sarco destroying my parasaur, who was in passive without me knowing. So I killed him with my axe and saved my favorite parasaur.

I killed one in the water it’s natural environment with my fist because it just swims in a circle it’s not hard to tame better with tranq arrows though

I tamed mine with an journey crossbow with 3 or 4 tranq arrows. Easy KO

Though I would not recommend traversing inland with these unless along a river for a quick getaway, Sarcos are really reliable mounts when travelling across the sea and rivers. Relatively slower on land, when you put these bad boys in water, they are giant toothed torpedoes. Their base stats are not bad and can be improved by adding a couple points first to health, melee and stamina. When you want to explore the island, add a few more points to movement speed and you'll have a mount that can kill and swim efficiently. Like in the dossier, these crocs are shark hunters, so don't be scared when encountering a Meg, you can easily diminish them but as long as you are constantly circling around them so they won't bite you. But I wouldn't fight anything other than that because the ocean is a dangerous place . And beware of jellyfish. Hate those buggers.I learned the hard way and lost my level 67 Sarco "Swampy". Overall my favourite Dinosaur in Ark Survival!

Very great Dino my level 203 sarco not breed killed a lvl 45 alpha Meg it is possible because of stamina and speed and this Dino is very under-rated

Expanding upon my last tip, my Sarco has reached level 143 or so and she's completely unstoppable. Pump health and melee, bit of stam for good measure, and as long as you keep the river in running distance your high level sarcosuchus can take on any rex and at least mid alpha carnos. And they're easy so easy to tame, they are a must have tame.

be careful when near any kind of water bodies because if you're careless enough a sarco might just pop up from water and kill you or your pet ora an animal nearby

also if you encounter a sarco coming at you don't run away it will waste your energy because a sarco can see you from a long distance but what you should do is grab an axe or a pikaxe face the sarco and hit it when it gets closer also if you have a small gap between trees go inside there and the sarco will be stuck you can kill it or run away

I am on mobile i was doing the ichthy pursuit but had no idea what the ichthy looked like thought maybe its that croc thing swam to it it turned arouned and chased me to shore where i speared it to half health died then came back to see a trike beating its ass got my first tranq arrow and some other nice loot thanks to that trike

I have started several solo / non-dedicated games over quarantine (pc failed few times) and every time i tame one of these guys... They make travel quick (using the rivers and oceans) and can tank soooo much damage..best early game tame ever

Long live "After 8" (my green and black sarco)

It's a really good tame especially in water. Use one of these around like 40-50 to kill alpha megladons easy. Just circle around and hit their tail or body and it can't hit you back. Just watch for you're oxygen (sarco has infinite oxygen).
