If your taming these on single player trap it and before knocking it out sleep in a sleeping bag so that when it knocks out its food stat is 0 so you can feed it easily no more waiting

I have a trick for taming an creature in 2 min including grifffin i saw lvl 300 griffin in hard in my hard difficulty world so you have to trap any creature you want to tame then do not unconscious him go and sleep and when you awake knock him and his food lvl is zero thank me later

people might tell you taming a griffin is not an easy task but i’ll

help you out if you’re looking for help

ok taming griffins :D

1st: get a stack of tranq darts/ 2 stacks of tranq arrows & about 100-150 bio toxin

2nd: build a trap with 4x gateframes and 2x gates and 2 pillars in the middle (all structures must be stone) & make sure to place it in a safe part of the map with no other big dinos

3rd: find a griffin that’s level 10-15 (or below) lure it to your trap with a pt (i highly recommend a pt as it can go through the trap and you can just close the gate when it’s in)

4th: tranq the small guy out and purchase a 15x soothing ba for 40 amber (you can watch ads) and i highly recommend you use prime meat if you have a argy you bring with if not allo kibble works as well (their torpor goes down fast)

5th: tame another of the opposite gender with

the same last name and a similar level

6th: breed the pair and make griffin kibble to tame a high lvl :D

You can’t name them. Do not unclaim or neuter/spay them, because if you do they will become wild and aggro on you.

If your on mobile don’t waste your amber on name change tickets,they don’t work

If you use a sleeping bag next to an unconscious creature in mobile the taming will fast forward but the torpor will not, this can be really helpful if you fear it’ll wake up before taming

WHY SO LONG TO TAME! Cmon like I’m gonna stare at a screen for hours on end

For some reason I am lvl 85 and yet a level 4 griffin doesn’t respect me up dote to ark see’s this (I am solo and just got ten levels by doing the swamp cave ( I had intense focus on))

You should unclaim it because it will not die after 15 min. But it will become a real wild griffin and get angry on you.

then you can refresh your game if youre on singleplayer and knock it out again and tame it again, also any balms that you have used before will stay on the griffin when you unclaim it

make sure to chronicle the griffin nd revive once you have reached your satisfied level or else it will die of neglect

warning: max level is 600, it won't gain any more levels after that

note: if you refresh your game after you knock out an unclaimed griffin, it will revert to a wild griffin's stats instead of your griffins' stats

Get x3 balm and any meat it likes,

Find one that respects you that you like,

Knockout.

Use balm

Shove meat up its butt.

(Ark Mobile Tip) In order to tame a royal griffin you’ll need soothing balm x10 (It’s much easier trust me- you do not want to tame one without it). I find the easiest way to get it is by tributing the artifact of the hunter at the green obelisk after finishing the cave. Artifacts do respawn so you can tribute it multiple times to get more soothing balm.

How to tame a low lvl (1-8) griffin easy without being high lvl or having a crown. (Having god console makes thigs easier!)

You will need: 4 stone dinosaur gateways, 2 stone dinosaur gates, 200+ bio toxin, a longneck rifle with 40 darts, luck, a chefs station or a female allo, and a name with an ending if the following;

Note: Yes, a griffin can be named...Moron.🙄

Note: If you do not have a name that ended in one of these, you cannot tame a griffin without being lvl 85^, getting a crown, or getting a name change ticket.

Step 1: Gather your stuff. (If you have god console you can skip most of it and spawn it in.) (Bring 7-9 allo kibble.)

Step 2: Get a good Argy with good HP and Stamina.

Step 3: Fly to fars peak.

Step 4: Build the griffin trap. How to: Build the 4 gateways in a straight line BUT leave a small, dilo torso thick (1m) sized gap in between each gateway, and on the FIRST and LAST gateways build the gates. (If you own god console, spawn the resources in and craft them.)

Step 5: If you own god console, turn immortaility ON. Look for a low lvl griffin that respects you.

Step 6 (Optional): If you still can't find a griffin that respects you, kill some random creatures around (Ankys, sabers, etc.) It'll open more spawn slots for griffins.

Step 7: When you find a griffin that respects you, aggro it.

Step 8: Lead the low lvl griffin to your trap. Open the first gate. Walk through it with your Argy. (If you own god console, turn immortality ON.) The griffin will get stuck. Keep walking through until you're totally out. shut the back door.

Step 9: Dismount and shut the front door.

Step 10: Load your longneck with darts, and shoot the griffin with darts. If you own god console, you only need to bring one dart, and turn on infinite ammo.

Step 11: Once it's out, Feed it bio toxin to keep it unconsious. Keep it unconsious until it's hungry. If you own god console, keep spawning bio toxin and feeding it.

Step 12: Once it's hungry, use the soothing balm on it, and give it the allo kibble.

Step 13: Wait with the patience of a saint.

Step 14: WHAMMO! You have a low lvl griffin.😀

Bonus Step (FOR GOD CONSOLE OWNERS ONLY): Level up your griffin to a good level.

Use a blueprint gun with darts or shocking darts to tame it . Or not you might kill it . And dont forget use trap to tame it or else it will run off

Mobile a pain, but doable. Basic trap, attack, sleep, KO, balm, and feed method with some useful tactics. I play single-player casual hard for this, and i wanted a breeding pair to tame unicorn.

1) Go to Lat 41.2 Lon 65.7 the rocky tower between Maw and Eastern Shore, directly across from waterfall. Clear off bronto by agro and lead it off the edge. Bronto won't respawn, and no predators can reach this location.

2) Set up classic argy taming pen ( 4 stone gate frames, 3 stone pillars, 1 reinforced gate). To build, stand with your back to Far's Peak, aka Griffins' Peak, and make sure gate opens in.

3) Out of reach of the trap, set up 2 preserving bins, a pestle and mortar, and a sleeping bag. In the direction of Far's Peak, also out of range, put a torch to guide you in if trapping at night.

4) Fly on pteranodon and locate a low level (10 to 30) griffin. Agro and slowly lead it back to trap. Fly in level to ensure griffin goes in, Pteranodon will fly right through, trapping griffin when you close the gate.

5) Now use a rex, allo, argy, or whatever, and fill both preserving bins with Prime meat, I used my giga as i had one. Also put in about 70 biotoxin in one preserving bin.

6) NOTE: If you save/exit at this point, and I recommend you do, remember the food level in griffin will reset, so the next steps will need to be done without any saves.

7) Partially tranq, but do not KO, the griffin. This will start food depletion. Now sleep, and then KO. You want the food down as low as possible for rapid tame.

8) Apply 10x soothing balm, then load up with prime meat. if taming doesn't finish during rapid feeding, then use biotoxin, and feed 4 prime meat at a time, to keep in in preserving bin as long as possible.

9) I was able to tame a level 20 without needing any biotoxin, and a level 50 only needing some at the end.

10) My female ending -ena and male ending -rna were able to mate, so Only Last 2 Letters must match!

How to tame them almost instantly, but it comes at a great cost.

F2P Way:

1. Get 1 or 2 balm from artifact (Fastest way is from tributing hunter artifact, but before tributing save your game while you're right infront of the obelisk so you can restart again if you don't get the balm, also you can abuse this tips until you get what you wanted from a certain blueprints/items from the artifact tributing)

2. Mass tame allosaurus and make kibble from them, find them in mountains or the snow area (Optional) Use super fast quetz to travel to your base or make a temporary base around the mountains for faster kibble making

3. Find the griffins, knock and starve until their food bar is halved or completely starve them

4. Stuff a balm and the kibble up their arsch, wait for a second/minutes and enjoy your big bad bird.

P2W Way:

1. Buy a major soothing balm if you have the amber

2. Get/buy 25-50 allo kibble if you want to tame a level 100-200

3. Starve them until they're half hungry something, stuff the balm and the kibble up their arsch, done, a cool griffin for you.

I tamed mine with starve tame, balm and kibble, maybe even tame some 450 if you want with this way, it's very fast and easy if you're good but a little hard for the newbies
