Chapter 16

- The Nazgûl

Many men were wounded, and several had died in battle. Luckily, nearly everyone was ready to fight again thanks to Jennifer.

“How you holding up?” Alex asked.

“Did Spark tell you to ask me that?”

“What?”

“Spark says that every time he comes to me in battle. Just struck me as strange. Anyways, the wounds are less serious than I thought. It’s mostly just the affects of battle on them. Luckily for us we’ve been working and fighting constantly, so it couldn’t take full control of them. I can only imagine what it will be like after the battle.”

“Well, it’s nothin you can’t handle. Also, I have noticed it too. I think Spark likes you, but don’t tell him I said that. Also, please don’t do anything about it until we can stop fighting. When the battles are over, then we will be free to do what we want. Good luck out there.”

“Alex, I got your supplies.”

“Thanks.”

“How was Jennifer?”

“Don’t worry about that right now, wave one has prepared and is about to charge.”

“Ok ok. No need to be so harsh.”

Alex tied the end of the rope to one of the arrows. She tied the other one about two thirds of the way up. She fired the rope up high. It stuck to the ceiling. Now all she had to do was free climb it and hope no one saw her.
