Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a rock drake? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a rock drake.
Use a meglocouras to get to the rock drake nest as they are buffed so it can get in and out but the only trouble for me is I can't hatch rock drake egg and I even have 12 aircons
To hatch a baby rock drake, instead of making who knows how many AC’s, use dimetrodon’s! Our base was at 28°c and we tamed 15 low level dimes, and used 5 AC units inside of a thatch building and the egg hatched just fine.
ULTIMATE ATE GUIDE TO ROCK DRAKES ON ABERRATION
GETTING AN EGG
To get the egg on foot you will need this list:
You: hazmat suits(3) 15-20 climbing picks, pump shotgun or some other weapon, two cross bows with zips and grapples, and finally, one glide suit and one light pet
Tribemate to sacrifice: climbing picks(3) 2 hazmat suits, a weapon to kill drakes, and a weak light pet( it will die)
STRATEGY
This is a fairly straightforward strat, get in by gliding, set up multiple escape routes off of the nest, grab the egg and go. Once you are out have your tribemate start attacking the drakes to distract them. Climb/glide/run AS FAST AS YOU CAN and get out of there, once at a safe distance uncryo a megalo(that’s what I did) and go back to your base. You could also walk out of the red zone, but megalo/spino is easier.
HATCHING THE EGG
Now that you have an egg you can hatch it, but, it only eats nameless venom and takes about twenty air cons to hatch, or a ton of dimetrodons or a ton of otters. When hatched feed nameless venom and remember to grab some red gems for the saddle!
Hope this helped
Have a nice day!😛
Don't use cons use otters. They are extremely common near rivers
upgrade their damage and they will be more effective
You need around 20 or more air conditioners to hatch their eggs depending on where you live. Obsidian can be a pain to gather so you could also use dimetrodons in place of air conditioners pump up their melee to make the dimetrodons more effective
Easy venom farm : 1. Get light pet 2. Go to where nameless spawn (red or blue zones) 3. Wait for about 10 to spawn and make sure one is red 3.5 (optional) drag them near your base, they wont go in green zone 4. Turn light on 5. Kill all but red (or atleast leave one alive) 6. Wait for it to burrow 7. Repeat steps 3-6
Recommend getting a fjordhawk and some polymer. This works for most tames you get this way .The hawks don’t go to arrabiation[idk if I spelled that right- probably not] so if you want to get a rock Drake in the way I’m abt to share, try fjorder. So make sure the polymer (organic) is in one of your slots. Glide down to an egg of your desire (recommend using a spyglass) with your fjordhawk on your shoulder. Make sure it has tons of HP so it doesn’t die. You want to grab the egg and eat the polymer, quickly respawn at your base or wherever you’re storing eggs (if clearing out a trench, Deino nesting grounds, etc etc) The fjordhawk will bring your egg to you since you died with it in your inventory.
Get 3 hazmat suits, tame up 2 high level spinos and breed up like 5-6 spinos, imprint, then stampede into the rock drake trench and slaughter everything en route. Then grab your egg and slap everything that tries to stop you from leaving. Make sure you spino is beefy, lots of health, stamina and damage!
If you got a Drake early or your running solo and don’t want to get all the materials for all those air conditioners I would recommend just taming a bunch of Dimetrodons (about 6-10) putting them in a room, and then putting the egg in with all of them. It should start incubating because Dims give a bunch of insulation. This should be much easier and you don’t need to go through all that mess just to get and run air conditioners. :)
To calculate how many acs you need to hatch, find the range between your temperature in the hatching area, and -80. Divide this by 6, and boom, that's how many you need. Get an extra on just in case of temperature changes.
1 ac=6 degrees Celsius of insulation
100 melee on a otter= 2 degrees Celsius of insulation
3 100 melee otters= 1 ac
If anyone is trying to replace acs with otters while hatching drakes, 4 100 melee otters should replace 1 ac, btw I also wrote this on the otter tips
They need 16 air conditioners to hatch it took me a long time to find that out
15 ACs and 5 otters w/ 240ish melee was enought to hatch at the large plateau in Fertile Land (25.4, 45.6) the temp that worked for me was 22-2300 Hypothermal
The coordinates to the cave for nameless venom in Fjordur are: Lat 56.8,Lon 84.8 you don’t need to up as long as this helps with raising rock drakes :)
You can crop or the babies and throw them back out to change the imprint requirement same with all other babies
If you wear a fed suit (with element in the helmet so you don’t die of radiation) in the pink water, it charges the suit. I don’t know if it’s the same with tek suits but I assume it would be. So take a fer fed suits in and you can just fly around picking up eggs easily
If your on a map with maewings and rock drakes use a Maewing to steel the eggs that’s how I have done it
To harvest nameless venom on Fjordur use a DOEDICURUS! I got 81 per rock instead of 3 or 4 with a pick... game changer.
There is a cave in midgard with a couple rockdrakes in it but first you have to get past all the shinehorn featherlights and karkinos. Middle right of the map in the grasslands.
How to tame a rock drake on abb:

Step two: find the trench.
Step three: die (just kidding)
Actual step three: put dino(s) on aggressive.
