These bugs make taming other dinos a LOT easier, and grinding more bearable. Now you don't NEED a high level one.i got a lvl 35 weeks ago, now lvl 95, doing wonders for metal gathering because of their high weight, though if you're far from a metal source, i'd recommend argys, since rhynios, when carrying dinos move horrendously slow.

𝙷𝚘𝚠 𝚍𝚘 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚐𝚘 𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚝𝚊𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚘𝚗𝚎?

Well, it's simple (not really, but still pretty simple for their uitility that they give you) first, find a male (level of the male doesnt really matter, but females do) after killing one check your dinos inventory, or the rhyniognathas dead body inventory. If you cant open the rhyniognathas dead body, then the pheromone should be in your dino's inventory.

𝙉𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩.

Select a tamed dinosaur, preferably a brontosaurus, or carcharodontosaurus, or gigas. Though rexes, paracers and other animals could work, but not all of them. 𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙍𝘾𝙃 𝘼𝙍𝙆 𝘿𝙄𝙉𝙊 𝘿𝙍𝘼𝙂 𝙒𝙀𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏𝙎 Drag weight matters very much here, because it ensures full stat transfer from the host dino to the rhyniognatha, 900+ drag weight is the max limit for stat transfer, making carchas, gigas and brontos the best option, if you want a rhyniognatha specifically for resource gathering, sacrifice a bronto, if you want damage, sacrifice a giga/carcha. Brontos have high weight, carcha/giga has high damage, if you want one SPECIFICALLY to just be a speedy fighter jet that doesn't fight, sacrifice a bronto with high speed, if you even level it up on brontos.

Second, find a female, high levels are great, but if you're desperate, low levels are great too. If you've located one DO NOT FIGHT IT YET! If you have a cryopod, use it to store the sacrifice and uncryo it near the rhyniognatha, if you don't have one then you'll have to go primitive and ride the sacrifice, or make it follow you near the rhyniognatha, feed your sacrifice the pheromone you got from the male, and quickly get aggro from the rhyniognatha. Attack it, lead it near your sacrifice using your dinos, or weapons till it reaches below 10% of their hp. The female rhyniognatha should shoot out some orange glowing blob at your sacrifice, your sacrifice is now bearing a rhyniognatha. (It should be glowing orange) from there, prepare the foods it will request. Search the things that it might ask for in its "Still stuck inside your sacrifice" Phase, just incase prepare element, they can request it.

In ultimate mobile edition :If you get a imprint that you want to change than use a cryropod. Just put the rhyniognatha and release it. You will get a new imprint. If you dont get it in one try keep trying. It generally changes in 1 or 2 tries. Works well for the walk with you bugges imprint or hand fed bugs.

For best tame ing and making SURE NOT TO DIE you can make a trap by using 4 stone dinosaur gateway trap one and do the normal process don’t forget to get dinos on passive and have high health dinos like paracetherium you can use trike to but high level

Megatheriums easily kill them, I was flying in the swamp and landed for Stam, a megatherium lvl 85 killed me on my lvl 172 rhynio

Wild dinos ignore you while you are on it unless you attack them except if the dino is an allo, spino, rex, alpha rex, yuty, carcharo, giga, rhynio, or insect buffed megatherium which will attack on sight.

But hey, if the imprinting is need to "walk with you", just "whistle follow" then punch it till it moves a couple meters

I hope the ai will be fixed soon. And dont try to fly too high, then dissmount, or you cannot reach him anymore (since he will not listen any follow whistle)

Abilities (as of the release of the dossier)

- Arthropleura will sometimes drop an enzyme that works in conjuntion with rhyniognatha glue to form a projectile similar to baboon dung.

- Can glue itself to creatures & cargo (maybe it really can carry much larger dinos)

- Rhyniognatha also have a resin that hardens it shell for a boost, and can shoot resin to either be a literal chaingun, or can help to slow down predators. It’s safe to say that this chunky earwig will be ark’s AH-64 Apache.

- The males release a pheromene that attracts egg laying females to lay their eggs into the “host”. The item can presumably be dropped by dead male rhynio’s. This can be used to mark hosts for the females. This is the wa of taming them. It’s not known if certain creature hosts will improve the taming effectiveness though.

- Screw calling the pest control. The new concept is still very large.

I ran into one with my PT, and it did not end well…

The rhynio has a similar taming method to the reaper you have to kill a male to get a certain item then eat the item which is called fertile essence then you need to find a female rhynio and get is to under 10% of its health and will do a special attack to give you the baby but it has to be done in the air or underwater so it can use all of its legs as required unfortunately the female will only give a baby to someone that’s a higher or the same level as it although that’s not confirmed to stay in the game.

DO NOT PANIC ! These things are scary and powerful but there is an easy way of getting rid of them that works every time for me, just run/fly into another dino that is there natural prey (this means that they attack it when wild). For example, I always bump into a paracetharium when chased by those and they completely abandon me !

However, you will probably still take a few hits, so always come with an argy or bulky ptera.

P.S. : I am on the new mobile version, so I don’t know whether this works for PC too, but I’m quite sure it does

If you see this and you don't have strong high level dino that can kill them quickly just give up. They WILL kill you. Dont even try goin anywhere near the swamps.

I recommend using a pump action shotgun to take this thing down. I tried to tame one once and it killed my pt named Greenbean (see the pteranodon entry for his story) but I actually managed to get one. It was only level 7 because I couldn’t give the Bronto host the element it was craving.

o once it starts to crave you feed the creature the meat and he dont die i did that with a 7k hp t rex and it luckly worked
