Taming these things are confusing, but I believe I have figured out how they work.

Step 1 is to kill a wild rhynio (can be any gendrr) to get the pheromones, next it is best to make a trap, the best design i know of is basically a stone dino gate griffin trap, but with behemoth gates. Next you want to find a high level wild female rhynio. Think of the level of the rhynio as the taming effectiveness you will recieve 150 being max. Next you need to lower the rhynio to below 10% hp, you can net them to make this easier. Once it is below 10% hp you need a mount with a high drag weight in order to inherit the best stats, carch/giga have best chances. Feed the creature the phermone and mount it. The rhynio should impregnate it within a few seconds. DO NOT CRYOPOD THE DINO IT IMPREGNATED! YOU WILL LOOSE THE BABY! once your tame is impregregnated it will go through a gestation period and ask for cravings. It is important you furfill as many as possible as they have a major effect on the level the offspring will be and the stats inherited. Once the timer is complete your dino will fall unconscious and die, however you will now have a new perfect tame rhynio!

Do not use to steal wyvern eggs, too slow, only use if you are sure there are no wyverns, if you have resin, take the wyverns one by one, but be VERY cautious.

Giant bugs are offensive to my health

These bugs make taming other dinos a LOT easier, and grinding more bearable. Now you don't NEED a high level one.i got a lvl 35 weeks ago, now lvl 95, doing wonders for metal gathering because of their high weight, though if you're far from a metal source, i'd recommend argys, since rhynios, when carrying dinos move horrendously slow.

𝙷𝚘𝚠 𝚍𝚘 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚐𝚘 𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚝𝚊𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚘𝚗𝚎?

Well, it's simple (not really, but still pretty simple for their uitility that they give you) first, find a male (level of the male doesnt really matter, but females do) after killing one check your dinos inventory, or the rhyniognathas dead body inventory. If you cant open the rhyniognathas dead body, then the pheromone should be in your dino's inventory.

𝙉𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩.

Select a tamed dinosaur, preferably a brontosaurus, or carcharodontosaurus, or gigas. Though rexes, paracers and other animals could work, but not all of them. 𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙍𝘾𝙃 𝘼𝙍𝙆 𝘿𝙄𝙉𝙊 𝘿𝙍𝘼𝙂 𝙒𝙀𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏𝙎 Drag weight matters very much here, because it ensures full stat transfer from the host dino to the rhyniognatha, 900+ drag weight is the max limit for stat transfer, making carchas, gigas and brontos the best option, if you want a rhyniognatha specifically for resource gathering, sacrifice a bronto, if you want damage, sacrifice a giga/carcha. Brontos have high weight, carcha/giga has high damage, if you want one SPECIFICALLY to just be a speedy fighter jet that doesn't fight, sacrifice a bronto with high speed, if you even level it up on brontos.

Second, find a female, high levels are great, but if you're desperate, low levels are great too. If you've located one DO NOT FIGHT IT YET! If you have a cryopod, use it to store the sacrifice and uncryo it near the rhyniognatha, if you don't have one then you'll have to go primitive and ride the sacrifice, or make it follow you near the rhyniognatha, feed your sacrifice the pheromone you got from the male, and quickly get aggro from the rhyniognatha. Attack it, lead it near your sacrifice using your dinos, or weapons till it reaches below 10% of their hp. The female rhyniognatha should shoot out some orange glowing blob at your sacrifice, your sacrifice is now bearing a rhyniognatha. (It should be glowing orange) from there, prepare the foods it will request. Search the things that it might ask for in its "Still stuck inside your sacrifice" Phase, just incase prepare element, they can request it.

I lost 4 of my flyers to this thing and every time i am near swamp this mf comes outs of nowhere and attack my dino not me my dino u mf and i used to thought it was rare or something but I don’t think so right now and thats why i am going to tame this mf to take my revenge by killing his kind 🙂

New mobile is borderline unplayable and ruined bc the spawn rate of these is to high. Ark needs to dial back the spawn on these.

It actually does not need to be low health. For me it was only 98% health (I did the maths) and it still impreg’d my bronto. You can also get them to do the Impreg by heightening their torpor (I’m pretty sure). Tips for the noobs, they do not spawn at the green obelisk swamp by the beach AND ONLY THE BEACH ONE. They are fairly easy (for me at least) to tame with a high level spino or rex. They can actually be knocked by tranqs or other methods. You can not lead your impreg’d animal to safety if inside the swamp (because of the groups of Rhyniogatha) but you can if outside. Just bring a Shi Taki mushroom amount of trophy’s and random things to make things like cravings easier. They crave things (for me a wooly rhino horn and exceptional kibble.) so be prepared. And last but not least they can swim, fly, run and attack at abysmal speeds so that is a benefit. I will also add that the stamina stat on these things is crazy and you can ride while wielding weapons!

to get a high level it depends on the host dino, the best ones are gigas, carchas, and brontos at the top. and rhynios get stats based on the host. even being said, its not guaranteed the stats such as it might not get the 30 points into health that the host dino had to put it into a example, and another factor is you have to give the host cravings. if not it might not be a max level either, they also dont get the hosts speed stat, their cravins contains: carcha egg, quetz egg, giga egg, golden egg, all the rockwell recipes and i mean all, element, absorbent substrate, black pearls, and gasoline. if helpful punch the sky

If you’re on a mid to low level ptero or argy, listen for the sound of what sounds like a helicopter. If that sound is near you, you will probably die. Or at least your tame will…. These have the strength and hp of a spino or Rex, and they have one of the widest aggro ranges I’ve ever seen. Give plenty of distance.

It’s just came out with the new update.To tame it is kinda like the reaper.But instead of u getting impregnated it’s ur Dino but use a disposable Dino as once it gives birth the creature dies.from my own experience you need to kill one then get its pheromone gland then feed it to I am pretty sure ur creature once u found one u want to tame then find one u want to tame then eat the gland then keep attacking it until it impregnates u then u have to wait for a bit and u need to feed ur dino random things cuz it craves stuff.What I got was black pearls Lazarus chowder and absorant.I think the more u feed it the more older the baby is once it bursts from ur dinos chest then u need to raise it from there

They spawn in the swamps on both the island and lost island, (no other maps unfortunately). The swamp up near the flat area and griffin mountain is where they are found on lost island, NOT the jungle. This is considered a late-game tame, and if you do get one of your dinosaurs impregnated, DO NOT cryo it cuz the baby will die. Hoped this helps and happy taming!

Yes, it's a pain to tame.However, you do not need to have it a certain birth level EVER.

At level twenty and maybe two points into health.This thing can take two consecutive lava baths on the island and survive.

I recommend using a pump action shotgun to take this thing down. I tried to tame one once and it killed my pt named Greenbean (see the pteranodon entry for his story) but I actually managed to get one. It was only level 7 because I couldn’t give the Bronto host the element it was craving.

Turn around and kill it with shotgun, if you don't have a strong gun you might think you can run your way out but you can't, you're dead
